This kitchen was a combined effort between Adam Gibson http://adamgibson.com/ and DB Interiors http://www.houzz.com/pro/dbinter/db-interiors-llc . It was extremely important to the owners that everything was done in the most environmentally friendly manner possible.

In the dining room a Magni dining table with a 3-inch slab of glass required us to reinforce the floors through the basement ceiling. The results were worth the effort, as the table truly is a work of art.

The clients worked with the collaborative efforts of builders Ron and Fred Parker, architect Don Wheaton, and interior designer Robin Froesche to create this incredible home.

This Transitional Farmhouse Kitchen was completely remodeled and the home is nestled on the border of Pasadena and South Pasadena. Our goal was to keep the original charm of our client’s home while updating the kitchen in a way that was fresh and current. Our design inspiration began with a deep green soapstone counter top paired with creamy white cabinetry. Carrera marble subway tile for the backsplash is a luxurious splurge and adds classic elegance to the space. The stainless steel appliances and sink create a more transitional feel, while the shaker style cabinetry doors and schoolhouse light fixture are in keeping with the original style of the home. Tile flooring resembling concrete is clean and simple and seeded glass in the upper cabinet doors help make the space feel open and light. This kitchen has a hidden microwave and custom range hood design, as well as a new pantry area, for added storage. The pantry area features an appliance garage and deep-set counter top for multi-purpose use. These features add value to this small space. The finishing touches are polished nickel cabinet hardware, which add a vintage look and the cafe curtains are the handiwork of the homeowner. Remarkable focal points in each area aim to capture the personality of the homeowners – An elegant vintage chandelier that draws the gaze when sitting in the parlor, baroque hand made paintings that add a French colonial charm to the dining room and a stunning marble fireplace with a pattern that just takes the viewer’s breath away and adds glamour to the living room. A lighter toned color brightens up the entire space while creating a rustic and comfortable decor overall. Comfy Shag rugs on the sofas ensure the family dog has a cozy spot to snuggle in. A vintage area rug with hand-selected accessories in the cabinets around the fireplace finish out a gorgeous and welcoming room. Dining area chairs with a pop of blue around a sturdy round oak table personify energy yet are classically elegant. A lot of time, effort and of course, patience went into this 4-year project. But the end result is a balanced, harmonious space that reflects the personality of the people who use it, which is what good Design is all about.

This dining table made by Pennville Custom Cabinetry was a combined effort between Adam Gibson http://adamgibson.com/ and DB Interiors http://www.houzz.com/pro/dbinter/db-interiors-llc . It was extremely important to the owners that everything was done in the most environmentally friendly manner possible.

This living room is now a bright and stream-lined space. All of the woodwork, the beams, mouldings and windows you see are original. It took a lot of labor time and effort to strip it all down, sand and seal, but in the end it was definitely worth it.
