Newly relocated from Nashville, TN, this couple’s high-rise condo was completely renovated and furnished by our team with a central focus around their extensive art collection. Color and style were deeply influenced by the few pieces of furniture brought with them and we had a ball designing to bring out the best in those items. Classic finishes were chosen for kitchen and bathrooms, which will endure the test of time, while bolder, “personality” choices were made in other areas, such as the powder bath, guest bedroom, and study. Overall, this home boasts elegance and charm, reflecting the homeowners perfectly. Goal achieved: a place where they can live comfortably and enjoy entertaining their friends often!

A good suggestion for an entryway from a front door is to tile it. This will endure that most of the moisture that may come from muddy or snowy shoes and therefore adding an extra layer of protection for the beautiful wood flooring.

Elevate your kitchen into a timeless sanctuary with a breathtaking remodel featuring ceiling-height solid maple shaker cabinets and luxurious Taj Mahal Quartzite countertops. The solid maple cabinets, crafted from robust, high-quality hardwood, extend gracefully to the ceiling, maximizing storage and infusing the space with a sense of grandeur. Their classic shaker-style design—defined by clean lines and recessed panels—offers a perfect balance of simplicity and sophistication, while the maple’s natural golden hues shine through in a warm stain like honey or caramel. Alternatively, a painted finish in crisp white or soft gray enhances their versatility, accentuating the wood’s smooth grain and enduring charm.
Crowning this stunning cabinetry, the Taj Mahal Quartzite countertops introduce an air of luxury and refinement. Sourced from Brazil, this natural stone features a creamy beige base interwoven with delicate gold, taupe, and gray veining, evoking the elegance of marble with unmatched strength. Polished to a lustrous glow, the countertops provide a spacious, hard-wearing surface ideal for cooking, hosting, or simply basking in their beauty. The ceiling-height solid maple shaker cabinets create a dramatic vertical presence, drawing the eye upward and making the room feel both expansive and inviting, while the Taj Mahal Quartzite countertops ground the space in luxurious practicality. Finish the remodel with brushed nickel hardware, a deep farmhouse sink, and warm under-cabinet lighting to spotlight the materials’ exquisite textures, crafting a kitchen that’s equal parts functional haven and design masterpiece.

The challenge of merging contemporary design with a classic traditional interior is emblematic of the vitality experienced in the evolution of Philadelphia’s urban fabric. The design of this Center City apartment engages a rich discourse between the new and the existing, focusing on areas of the residence that contradicted the new owners’ aesthetic and lifestyle.
The elevator opens to the center of the spacious living area that includes the foyer, kitchen and living room. The serene, geometric character of the foyer enhances the sense of arrival – offering a moment to contemplate the owners’ art, the interplay of the old and the new, and the subtleties of light.
The kitchen, while fully functional, willingly and quietly participates in the composition. Symmetry and asymmetry are seamlessly woven.
The depth and endurance of daily experiences are the ingredients that transform architecture into a vital framework for living. As it relates to a home, the framework requires a resonate balance of comfort and drama, achieved here with a cast of dynamic materials and details that subtly collaborate in simple composition.

Tired of their old gray and pink tiled bathroom, these homeowners contacted Castle for some help with their 1950’s South Minneapolis home. One priority item for the family was also creating a space for the kitty box! By matching original oak trim, picking up a contrasting dark cherry vanity, and combining those heavy wood tones with warm and soft neutrals, we were able to design a space that was enduring, comfortable and classic. One of our favorite features is the dual shower head by Kohler. Kohler’s Hydrorail system allows for two showerhead options with only one water supply! It is a great option for multi-user bathrooms. This was another wonderful renovation for a charming family.

While this kitchen is of modest dimensions, it features wonderful luxe effects such as the hand hammered Pewter sink and Italian made island table base - Tastefully designed, defying a style label, ensuring its enduring relevance.

This Lake Forest kitchen was designed to evoke harmony through symmetry and refined contrast. At the heart of the space, custom inset cabinetry in a deep sapphire finish adds rich dimension, while bright white countertops offer a crisp counterbalance. Glass-front uppers lend openness and elegance, and warm brass hardware adds a touch of glamor. The dual-island layout was meticulously planned for functionality and movement, ensuring that cooking and hosting feel effortless. Every material was selected to endure — and to tell a story of bold, modern sophistication rooted in everyday living.

We titled this project Fortitude as a description of the incredible couple to whom it belongs. In August 2016 a large area of the state was devastated by a flood that shattered records not reached in over 30 years. This home was one of the many affected. After having to endure less than professional contractors and a some medical emergencies. the couple completed the project three years later. The beautiful images you see today are a testament to their extreme fortitude and perseverance amid trying circumstances. To those who never give up hope, the results are sweeter than you can imagine.

RCID was proud to collaborate with Niro Developments on the Lakeview Residence—a home that beautifully balances timeless architectural character with a fresh, contemporary interior aesthetic. The design draws on classic forms, yet each detail feels elevated and modern, creating a space that is both enduring and inviting. Natural wood cabinetry grounds the interiors with warmth and texture, while sleek modern fireplaces add contrast and sophistication. A curved, contemporary staircase provides a striking focal point, seamlessly connecting the main and upper levels with sculptural grace. The kitchen showcases waterfall granite countertops that complement the home’s modern edge, paired with a statement front door by Premiere Woodwork that sets the tone upon entry. In the ensuite, a unique wood-look tile brings natural character to a spa-like setting. Together, these elements create a cohesive and thoughtful design—classic at heart, but distinctly contemporary in expression.

"About this Home: Upon entering, the grandeur of the home is immediately apparent, with 15' vaulted ceilings gracing the main living areas and a barrer ceiling in the foyer, creating an atmosphere of openness and airiness. The living space, adorned with cedar beams and a gas fireplace, flows effortlessly into the dining area, which opens to a covered back deck overlooking a large private yard—an ideal canvas for creating an outdoor oasis, perhaps with a pool and pool house.
The heart of this home is undoubtedly the meticulously designed kitchen. A culinary haven, it boasts Jenn Air appliances, custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, and a striking custom hood. Every detail was considered to provide both functionality and aesthetic pleasure. The site-finished hardwood floors underfoot enhance the overall sense of refinement.
The master suite, located on the main level, is a sanctuary of indulgence. The oversized bedroom leads to a spa-like master bathroom featuring a freestanding tub, an oversized shower with dual shower heads, and opulent finishes throughout. Ascending to the second level, you'll find a large en-suite bedroom and two additional bedrooms sharing a Jack & Jill bathroom, ensuring privacy and comfort for all residents.
Beyond the impeccable interior, the home is framed by a generous lot size of 0.7 acres, offering the potential to create a private retreat within the city. The vision for this home was not just to provide shelter but to curate a lifestyle—a life filled with refined comfort, entertaining possibilities, and an enduring sense of home. As the builder, we are proud to present a residence where every detail has been thoughtfully considered, resulting in a timeless masterpiece that will be cherished for generations to come.

This kitchen remodeling project in Maryland, is part of a whole house remodel Kitchen and Bath Shop did recently. In this kitchen, we used quartz countertops, a farmhouse sink, open shelves, and white, long-endurance cabinets.

This new build was designed with a modern organic approach, blending clean architectural lines with warm, natural materials to create a space that feels timeless, calm, and highly livable. The goal was to design a cohesive main floor that feels elevated yet approachable, with thoughtful attention to scale, proportion, and material layering.
Soft neutral tones provide a quiet foundation, while warm wood finishes, subtle texture, and brass accents add depth and visual interest. Furniture selections were carefully curated to balance comfort and sophistication, ensuring the home feels welcoming without sacrificing design integrity. Lighting was intentionally layered to enhance both functionality and atmosphere throughout the space.
The result is a refined, modern organic interior that feels collected, enduring, and tailored to everyday living — a home designed to age beautifully over time.

This single-family home remodel was driven by the homeowner’s desire to “do the right thing” in the context of a
neighborhood which is witnessing a change of character as the small houses of its quiet past are getting
replaced by large luxury homes. One of the biggest initial challenges was to resist the temptation to increase
the size and height of the house in order to gain even better views – to resist keeping up with the Joneses. The
house already had an expansive view of Puget Sound. The owner also did not want the house to compete with
the land for attention or resources – the house should be humble and respect nature, a metaphor for walking
lightly on the earth.
The site also had its physical challenges – it is classified as an Environmentally Critical Area due to its steep
slope, and there is also an eagle’s nest nearby. Given these site challenges, minimizing the house’s impact on the
site was established as an underlying guiding principle early in the design process. The footprint of the house
was kept intact and the exterior changes were kept to a minimum. Even the deck and landscaping walls (both of
which needed replacement due to failures in the materials) were rebuilt within the same size and footprints. The
landscaping plan includes removing invasives and returning the site to native vegetation.
The original house was built in the 1940’s and had endured various additions over the years. Another
objective was to blend the division between the new remodel, the former remodels, and the original house – to
make the house feel whole again and not a collection of random pieces. The use of salvaged materials and the
reuse of existing materials were high priorities among many sustainable goals that included the conservation of
energy, water, and materials.

This historic home in Richmond's Church Hill neighborhood was in need of a floor to ceiling refresh. It's beauty was still evident, but it had endured years of disrepair. We worked hard to restore as much original carpentry as possible including woods, railings, flooring, fireplaces and even several windows. The kitchen and bathrooms were completely renovated with a new full bath added on upstairs. The final result was a gracious, stunning and historically preserved house that fits a modern family.

The landscape design for this historic property was carefully crafted to restore the home to its original grandeur. Incorporating Boston City Hall pavers, natural cleft bluestone, and reclaimed granite bridge blocks, the hardscape seamlessly blends timeless materials with the architectural charm of the New England colonial era, honoring its rich heritage with enduring elegance.

This kitchen transformation focused on blending timeless style with improved functionality for everyday living.
We installed new cabinetry from our Kitchen Solvers Showcase Collection, featuring a classic mission door style in a soft eggshell finish on maple wood. The result is a warm, inviting look that feels both fresh and enduring.
To complement the cabinetry, we added a beautiful Bradshaw quartz countertop, bringing durability and elegance to the space while creating a cohesive, polished design.
A key part of this remodel was redesigning the island to better suit the homeowner’s lifestyle. By expanding the layout, we were able to incorporate additional seating—making the kitchen more welcoming for gatherings, casual meals, and everyday use.
The end result is a kitchen that not only looks stunning but also functions perfectly for how the homeowners live and entertain.
