After undertaking a few minor updates over the years, these homeowners came to us ready to tear out their kitchen and start from scratch. The existing kitchen was large, but not laid out well for the everyday use it was getting. A bulky double fireplace in the center of the living space took up a lot of room and made the dining room feel disconnected from the kitchen, despite the substantial opening between the two. We removed the oversized wood burning fireplace and replaced it with a smaller gas one with shiplap above, creating a stylish featured piece. Meanwhile the kitchen was reimagined and reorganized into a functional space for a home chef that will work better for years to come. These homeowners’ main concern was to update the style and function, as well as having quality materials that would stand the test of time. They wanted updated, gray cabinets; but didn’t want to lose any of the warm feeling of their home. Together with our design team they chose a light, warm gray for the perimeter cabinets and a darker gray to make the island a focal piece. The warm, light colored quartz countertops blend with the lighter gray and contrast nicely with the island. The textured dark blue backsplash tile adds a fun and exciting pop of color without stealing attention from any of the other pieces. To further maintain the warmth, they chose a rich walnut flooring with bold grain patterns. When the homeowners fell in love with some contemporary brass colored light fixtures, they were nervous that they would compete with their stainless steel appliances and other silver toned pieces. By keeping all the lights in the same color family, we were able to achieve a look that feels intentional and modern. The corner 3-light pendant adds light and interest to the space. Not wanting to take up wall cabinet space with a bulky microwave, they opted for one built into a base cabinet. The other small appliances are neatly hidden away behind custom appliance garages. For the fireplace, we focused on a clean, bright look that would stand out and look beautiful without competing with the neighboring kitchen. A small powder bathroom was also reorganized to better utilize the potential storage space and add counter space for guests. The style of the kitchen cabinetry was incorporated into the bathroom as well as into the dining room, which featured glass front cabinets to display dishes and mementos. The redesigned space resulted in a warm and beautiful kitchen and dining area that will be enjoyed for years to come. The main floor living space now feels as cohesive as it was always meant to.

Classic white shaker cabinets surround and stately stained island with beefy custom legs and a white Quartz countertop. This couple in the La Verne Heights gated community contacted me when it was time to remodel their master bathroom. After years of debating whether or not they should, they decided it was time to treat themselves to a proper master bathroom. They requested a classic look and finishes that would stand the test of time. The “after” is a complete transformation. Custom cabinetry, made to look like furniture with crystal knobs, was crafted and topped off with a slab of Cambria Quartz. The flooring and shower are clad in marble, surrounded by frameless glass. The soaking tub is Victoria + Albert and framed with custom pleated panels with custom Roman shades beneath for privacy. Chrome fixtures and lighting were added for a touch of classic sparkle.

Our team was approached by a lovely client in early January 2022 to undertake a full home renovation project. The scope of the project initially included updating the interior of the home, with a focus on the kitchen, flooring, all the bathrooms, and the basement. We also took on the task of painting the entire interior of the house, giving it a fresh and updated look. As the project progressed, the client expressed interest in updating the exterior of the home as well. We worked with them to design and build a new deck that provided a functional and stylish space for outdoor entertaining. We also tackled the landscaping of the front and backyard of the property, creating a cohesive and inviting look that complemented the updated interior design. Throughout the project, we worked closely with the client to ensure that their vision was realized, taking care to incorporate their input and preferences into every aspect of the design. We also prioritized functionality and durability, selecting materials and finishes that would stand the test of time and provide lasting value for the homeowner. Despite the scale of the project, we were able to complete it in just four months, from day one to last one. Our team worked efficiently and effectively to ensure that every detail was taken care of, from the initial design to the final finishing touches. The end result is a stunning and functional home that the client is thrilled with. They wanted everything to be of lasting quality, but not feel too precious, so their grandchildren can still have fun running on the porcelain floors and baking on the quartz counters. The clients desired a cohesive space with the best materials, exhibiting a streamlined appeal that still felt welcoming and catered to all their storage needs. The surfaces are low maintenance for easy clean-up and sanitation. The clients wanted custom, solid-wood cabinetry with natural finishes, for an organic element and visual warmth. Additionally, clients wanted to hide certain items in the kitchen, such as electronics, appliances, cookbooks, trash, and recycling. Storage for sheet trays, knifes, spices, cutlery and cooking utensils were required. Open display shelves for collectables from travels and an area for a coffee & smoothie bar were also desired. The island incorporates a hidden charging station for electronics, open shelving for cookbooks, while housing an instant hot and chilled water dispenser at the sink. The cabinetry also has a hidden trash and recycling center, specialty spice and cooking utensil pull-outs, drawers with custom inserts for knifes, cutting boards, cutlery, and tableware. An appliance garage allows room for the stand mixer and toaster to be out of sight, but within reach. A lighted coffee and smoothie bar were planned for the clients’ love of coffee and healthy nutrition. The island and floating shelves are made of oak panels with inlaid brass, adding a subtle touch of sparkle and warmth that highlights gold flecks in the island countertop.

Our client, a hard working single lady, bought this condo knowing that things will need to change. The location was great with a beautiful view into the Nation's Capitol was a winner buy. The main layout of the condo was is but she knew that something will have to go! and that included the original kitchen from 1981 had to go! The closed layout and the laminate cabinets has no place in her vibrate life and passion for cooking. Looking at a few layout in the building, we deiced to take the layout to another direction, testing the limits of condo construction. At the end we managed to create an open and flowing space, connecting the living, dinning room and kitchen as one space. The gray, white with a touch of bling reflects the client's personality creating a space for her to experiment different cooking style, host a dinner party or just chill with a glass on wine.

The kitchen area underwent a remarkable transformation, with a complete gutting and strategic movement of walls to create a more open and inviting space. Enhancing the aesthetics of the space with blue cabinets that are complimented with a white quartz top. The bathroom renovation elegantly phased out the aged oak cabinets, introducing a striking dark brown stain beautifully complemented by a pristine white quartz top. The showers have been upgraded with timeless subway tiles, a design choice that stands the test of time. Every inch of flooring has been revamped, with sleek, wood-style tiles providing a fresh, modern look. Exceptionally, some areas received a plush carpet upgrade, for that extra touch of comfort.

Our Award Nominated project,Violet street was a huge transformation from start to finish. Our goal was to take the main floor of the house from the 80’s to the 21st century by creating an open concept living area and a chef’s kitchen. Removing the unnecessary walls created and open concept main floor with a chef's kitchen and an island that is over eleven feet long. Storage was a concern in the previously small kitchen; with that in mind we added in some full height pantry units with roll out shelves. The pantry units flank a built in desk and glass cabinets which has quickly become the landing zone for the kitchen and the perfect spot for planning their dinner menu. We elevated the look of the desk by running the back splash from the floor right up to the top as the backing inside the glass cabinets. The living room was also given a new lease on life. All the cabinetry was done in a white washed oak to define the living space from the kitchen; this is especially important in open concept. Built in cabinetry now frames the fireplace, giving the living room a focal point. Violet St has now been elevated to the present time and is a wonderful space to entertain and test your culinary abilities. Now this home is ready to be filled with many happy memories and moments.

A rustic elegant custom chalet with incredible features. This chalet is built for entertaining multiple generations, with open concept main floor, large family room, and levels connected with an elevator, this chalet is built to stand the test of time. This home bar is located in a games room, and reflects the owners' vision for a space where the entire family can gather to have fun. The bar itself is full of unique features such as backlit onyx panels on the front and side of the bar, rock feature wall, live edge floating shelves, and a tin ceiling. Add in a custom neon sign, and this bar packs a punch despite its' small footprint.

The Twin Peaks Passive House + ADU was designed and built to remain resilient in the face of natural disasters. Fortunately, the same great building strategies and design that provide resilience also provide a home that is incredibly comfortable and healthy while also visually stunning. This home’s journey began with a desire to design and build a house that meets the rigorous standards of Passive House. Before beginning the design/ construction process, the homeowners had already spent countless hours researching ways to minimize their global climate change footprint. As with any Passive House, a large portion of this research was focused on building envelope design and construction. The wall assembly is combination of six inch Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs) and 2x6 stick frame construction filled with blown in insulation. The roof assembly is a combination of twelve inch SIPs and 2x12 stick frame construction filled with batt insulation. The pairing of SIPs and traditional stick framing allowed for easy air sealing details and a continuous thermal break between the panels and the wall framing. Beyond the building envelope, a number of other high performance strategies were used in constructing this home and ADU such as: battery storage of solar energy, ground source heat pump technology, Heat Recovery Ventilation, LED lighting, and heat pump water heating technology. In addition to the time and energy spent on reaching Passivhaus Standards, thoughtful design and carefully chosen interior finishes coalesce at the Twin Peaks Passive House + ADU into stunning interiors with modern farmhouse appeal. The result is a graceful combination of innovation, durability, and aesthetics that will last for a century to come. Despite the requirements of adhering to some of the most rigorous environmental standards in construction today, the homeowners chose to certify both their main home and their ADU to Passive House Standards. From a meticulously designed building envelope that tested at 0.62 ACH50, to the extensive solar array/ battery bank combination that allows designated circuits to function, uninterrupted for at least 48 hours, the Twin Peaks Passive House has a long list of high performance features that contributed to the completion of this arduous certification process. The ADU was also designed and built with these high standards in mind. Both homes have the same wall and roof assembly ,an HRV, and a Passive House Certified window and doors package. While the main home includes a ground source heat pump that warms both the radiant floors and domestic hot water tank, the more compact ADU is heated with a mini-split ductless heat pump. The end result is a home and ADU built to last, both of which are a testament to owners’ commitment to lessen their impact on the environment.

We were honored to be chosen by Honda Corporation North America to be involved in the Honda Smart Home project which was designed and built in partnership with the University of California Davis on the West Davis Campus in 2014. This was the fifth Honda Smart Home Honda Corporation had built throughout the world (the first in the United States). The goal of each Honda Smart Home is to provide a “Living Laboratory” that allows the most current and innovative design and products to be implemented in construction and tested over time.
