The clients wanted an elegant, sophisticated, and comfortable style that served their lives but also required a design that would preserve and enhance various existing details. To modernize the interior, we looked to the home's gorgeous water views, bringing in colors and textures that related to sand, sea, and sky. Took out 85% of existing lawn and added a new patio, steps, garden with grow boxes and strategic screens too. On this particular project, we started by extending the existing concrete patio and poured a polymer overlay with color, stamp and texture. We then built an outdoor kitchen with a grill, drawer cabinet, refrigerator and trash drawer. To enhance the backyard, we installed synthetic turf and added a putting green!

A custom designed gazebo type structure was designed to enhance the exterior appearance of an existing "developer" home and its connection to the backyard. This new Pavilion / "Outdoor Room” features low stone walls and a fireplace, a unique pattern of columns, an upper cupola, and custom lighting.

Embarking on a bathroom renovation project in the Upper East Side involves transforming the existing tub into a chic walk-in shower while significantly increasing storage capacity for enhanced functionality. The aim is to infuse the space with a modern aesthetic, characterized by sleek lines and contemporary finishes. This renovation endeavor seeks to optimize both form and function, creating a stylish and practical sanctuary within the confines of the bustling city.

This client wanted to use her existing Scandinavian furniture in a guest room. She purchased ready made bedding with decorative pillows to add a pop of color. The wall color was changed to coordinate and enhance the bedding and the furniture color. Woven roman shades in the same color tone as the furniture add warmth to the windows.

The existing pool deck, driveway, and all plantings were completely renovated at this beachside home. A permeable pool patio and driveway solved drainage issues and modernized the feel of the landscape. Trees were added to to enhance privacy and the gardens were completely re-done with perennials that thrive near the salt air.

This exterior deck renovation and reconstruction project included structural analysis and design services to install new stairs and landings as part of a new two-tiered floor plan. A new platform and stair were designed to connect the upper and lower levels of this existing deck which then allowed for enhanced circulation. The construction included structural framing modifications, new stair and landing construction, exterior renovation of the existing deck, new railings and painting. Pisano Development Group provided preliminary analysis, design services and construction management services.

Will Calhoun - photo These stairs were stained entirely in a muddy brown. The floors were tired and blotchy. The trim was bland and poorly fitted. The Living Room had exposed timbers with little redeeming merit and are now encased in handsome millwork which ties together the entire interior.
