At the edge of the Minnesota/Canadian border sits this stunning private estate. Perched on a rocky ledge overlooking an adjoined private island, the landscape install entailed blasting into the rock to form a pool. The impressive exterior of the house is clad in ORIJIN STONE's beautiful Wolfeboro™ Granite veneer, and interior features include ORIJIN natural stone tile and custom stone work. Morse Remodeling designed and constructed this uniquely configured guest suite renovation to a country estate in rural Yolo County of Northern California. Custom design entailed the creation of an open suite with a bathing area separated from the bed by large slabs of Cypress tress. A shower was added to the center axis of the room, and a wet location was created for a shower and soaking tub by screening the existing room with the giant wood slabs. A private water closet was nestled in the corner. Natural wood was used for almost all finishes with the exception of the wet room. A tree trunk was selected as the pedestal for the tub filler and natural branches were collected and used as towel racks, shelf supports, and workbench leg. A truly unique, rustic ranch retreat!

Our clients wanted to open up their living space for better flow so that they could entertain friends and family in a more functional space. They wanted to remove the wall separating the family room and the kitchen and completely gut the kitchen and start over. This also entailed removing the built-in bar area and breakfast nook. They weren’t sure if they wanted to keep the skylight or if it would even work with the new layout or not. The various ceiling heights were also going to be a challenge in the family room and breakfast nook. They also wanted to explore options for a dry bar and/or a coffee bar area. They wanted to keep their new kitchen classic, simple, and clean, and they definitely needed design help to see what it was going to look like. We removed the door to the hallway, closed off the pass-through to the wet bar, and moved two doors on the opposite end of the kitchen. Most importantly, we removed the large built-in bookcase wall between the kitchen and living room! The entire kitchen was demolished, and the renovation began. Linen painted Waypoint cabinets were installed with Successi French Gold hardware. Our client picked out gorgeous Sea Pearl quartzite countertops, making this kitchen clean and sophisticated, with a subtle backsplash using Nabi Tundra 3x6 Ceramic Tile to create a slight contrast. A white Platus 33” single-basin farmhouse fireclay kitchen sink with an apron front was put in, giving it that modern farmhouse feel. All new stainless steel Thermador appliances were installed, really making this kitchen pop! To top it off, the skylight remained as-is and worked perfectly with the new layout, sitting directly above the center of the new large island. Two Darlana small lantern island pendants from Visual Comfort were hung to add a simple, decorative touch to the center of their new open kitchen. New built-ins were installed in the dining area, with floor-to-ceiling cabinets on either end for extra storage and glass front cabinets in the center, above a gorgeous coffee bar. Our clients chose a Metrolume Chandelier from Shades of Light to hang over the dining room table and create a warm eating area. This space went from totally closed off and not their style to a beautiful, classic kitchen that our clients absolutely love. Their boys and their dog, Rusty, also love their new, wide-open living space!

Welcome to your new favorite spot in the house! With this showpiece Custom Wine Cellar, why would you ever have a party anywhere else? Complete with an adjacent room with a large tasting table and space to entertain, this homeowner thought of it all! This unique Custom wine room in a gorgeous neighborhood in the La Jolla and Del Mar region in sunny San Diego, California is an art piece in itself surrounded by even more art pieces. The Wine Room Construction entailed unique custom fitted racking, tiering down from about ten feet on one end of the room to just below eight feet on the other. Producing high quality wine racking for a cellar like this is no easy feat, but that is exactly what the wine cellar builders and team at vintage cellars do best! The glass front and custom wine cellar door, highlighted with metal framing in an interesting checkered pattern throughout, also posed a unique challenge within this wine cellar space. Glass walls, although absolutely stunning, can reduce the cooling capabilities within the wine room itself- simply due to the non insulating properties of glass. Whenever glass is utilized within a custom wine cellar, we always make sure to install dual paned thermal insulated glass. Within the wine cellar itself, The racking is made of all heart redwood with a clear finish, with single deep individual bottle storage above a high reveal display row and double deep bottle storage below. The amount of custom and unique features in this gorgeous custom wine cellar in La Jolla are almost too numerous to count! Take a closer peek and you will notice that the walls are covered with a custom redwood paneling with custom moldings throughout. The interestingly shaped island also has room for large format bottle storage and a small chilled wine refrigerator specifically for whites ready to be served. This beautiful master bathroom remodel entailed a few unique changes. This space was remodeled to be handicap accessible. The entrance to the master bath was widen and the dam was removed for easy entry making the shower a complete walk allowing for easy entering. In the shower the bench was elongated and tiled with Marfil 12x12 polishe3d marble tile. In the shower they depressed the drain in order to successfully make the space fully accessible in a wheel chair and installed multiple grab bars. Another feature in the shower was the Hansgrohe Green shower pipe with a rain head and hand shower with a thermostatic mixer and valve trim. Our client requested a design that reflected their need to renovate their dated bathroom into a transitional floor plan that would provide accessibility and function. The new shower design consists of a pony wall with a glass enclosure that has beautiful details of brushed nickel square glass clamps. The interior shower fittings entail geometric lines that lend a contemporary finish. A curbless shower and linear drain added an extra dimension of accessibility to the plan. In addition, a balance bar above the accessory niche was affixed to the wall for extra stability. The shower area also includes a folding teak wood bench seat that also adds to the comfort of the bathroom as well as to the accessibility factors. Improved lighting was created with LED Damp-location rated recessed lighting. LED sconces were also used to flank the Robern medicine cabinet which created realistic and flattering light. This project was an addition to an existing residence, located in Bender's Landing Estates, in Spring, Texas. It entailed adding a 2 story addition to the left side of the house: a covered parking area, and an upstairs man-cave, as well as a new covered outdoor kitchen in the rear of the home. The owner told me it was a much needed escape, for a little bit of quite relaxation and solitude. One of my smaller projects, but I like how it came out - the key was blending it with the existing residence.

Our Clients wanted to update a family lakeside retreat with a modern sensibility. The resulting design is a warm, contemporary space intimate enough for the couple to enjoy alone, but flexible to accommodate additional guests. This project entailed the teardown of an existing structure and new construction of a two-story building. As required by zoning, the existing footprint was maintained. On the first floor, a traditional woodstove juxtaposed to a floating stair anchors the open floor plan. Large picture windows provide lake views for the dining and living areas. An adjacent galley kitchen makes for easy entertaining. The first floor also includes a guest suite. The second floor includes a master suite, secondary seating area, floor to ceiling built-ins, office space and an upper deck. Barn and pocket doors create additional sleeping accommodations as needed. Cable railings are used throughout so as to not impede sightlines.

This well-loved home belonging to a family of seven was overdue for some more room. Renovations by the team at Advance Design Studio entailed both a lower and upper level addition to original home. Included in the project was a much larger kitchen, eating area, family room and mud room with a renovated powder room on the first floor. The new upper level included a new master suite with his and hers closets, a new master bath, outdoor balcony patio space, and a renovation to the only other full bath on in that part of the house. Having five children formerly meant that when everyone was seated at the large kitchen table, they couldn’t open the refrigerator door! So naturally the main focus was on the kitchen, with a desire to create a gathering place where the whole family could hang out easily with room to spare. The homeowner had a love of all things Irish, and careful details in the crown molding, hardware and tile backsplash were a reflection. Rich cherry cabinetry and green granite counter tops complete a traditional look so as to fit right in with the elegant old molding and door profiles in this fine old home. The second focus for these parents was a master suite and bathroom of their own! After years of sharing, this was an important feature in the new space. This simple yet efficient bath space needed to accommodate a long wall of windows to work with the exterior design. A generous shower enclosure with a comfortable bench seat is open visually to the his and hers vanity areas, and a spacious tub. The makeup table enjoys lots of natural light spilling through large windows and an exit door to the adult’s only exclusive coffee retreat on the rooftop adjacent. Added square footage to the footprint of the house allowed for a spacious family room and much needed breakfast area. The dining room pass through was accentuated by a period appropriate transom detail encasing custom designed carved glass detailing that appears as if it’s been there all along. Reclaimed painted tin panels were added to the dining room ceiling amongst elegant crown molding for unique and dramatic dining room flair. An efficient dry bar area was tucked neatly between the great room spaces, offering an excellent entertainment area to circulating guests and family at any time. This large family now enjoys regular Sunday breakfasts and dinners in a space that they all love to hang out in. The client reports that they spend more time as a family now than they did before because their house is more accommodating to them all. That’s quite a feat anyone with teenagers can relate to! The Carltons felt their closet was too small for a master bedroom. So they found H-E-Doctor online and requested a consultation on the specifications of their project and what it would entail to build it. This project entails a comprehensive renovation of both the master and guest bathrooms. The master bathroom will feature a spacious walk-in shower with dual black-finished shower heads, elegant floating benches, and marble wall tiles. In the guest bathroom, there will be a built-in tub and stylish hexagon tiles.

This project entailed redesigning the layout with New Plans submitted to the City for permitting. Demo work included moving removing Walls, Building a new walk-in pantry, new Electrical plan & recessed can lighting, and Plumbing for the new layout, Installation of Belmont 1900 cabinets, Servo drive Cabinet, Dekton Countertops by Consentino, Thermador & Bosch appliances, Back splash tile from Dal-Tile, & some unique dining chandelier, ceiling fans in the Kitchen/Dining & Living Areas. The Powder Room facelift consisted of Unique granite vessel bowl sink with wall mounted faucet, wall-paper, & a round lighted mirror.
