New waterproof, resin art panels from Alex Turco were featured on the stove backsplash, providing a colorful, yet serene graphic element to the space. An unexpected mix of materials brings the space to life in a big way and includes: iron (island), glass (cabinets), wood (cabinets), resin (backsplash) and quartz (countertops).

This kitchen's open layout is perfect for the light and airy ambience of this kitchen. The grey and white is balanced with the warmth of wood look tile flooring and touches of green from indoor plants. The square backsplash introduces visual contrast with its vertical lines and combination of light hues.

Location: Nantucket, MA, USA This classic Nantucket home had not been renovated in several decades and was in serious need of an update. The vision for this summer home was to be a beautiful, light and peaceful family retreat with the ability to entertain guests and extended family. The focal point of the kitchen is the La Canche Chagny Range in Faience with custom hood to match. We love how the tile backsplash on the Prep Sink wall pulls it all together and picks up on the spectacular colors in the White Princess Quartzite countertops. In a nod to traditional Nantucket Craftsmanship, we used Shiplap Panelling on many of the walls including in the Kitchen and Powder Room. Townhouse renovation in Brooklyn: We redesigned the rear end of the house as an expanded family kitchen with a back door to the deck. We also added a new connection from the entrance hall to the kitchen and fit a small powder room under the stairs. The old windows and doors were replaced with new, larger ones, and the entire kitchen was gutted and refitted with new cabinetry and a banquette dining area. The space was designed to take advantage of the bright southern exposure, with lots of white materials, grounded by the dark base cabinets. Photos by Maletz Design
