A Chelsea one-bedroom, where bold, bohemian touches meet boutique hotel flair. Being a rental apartment with very little architectural charm to highlight, our goal was to turn what was essentially a white box, into a space that reflected our art-director client's personality, while also incorporating durable pieces that could withstand the wear of an energetic pet pitbull! Our client wanted a space to store her vast wine collection, as well as a space to entertain, so we turned the foyer area into a "wine bar", creating a cozy yet playful vibe with chalkboard paint, rustic wood and metal elements, as well as a collection of vintage mirrors. The goal in the living room was to create layered yet sophisticated boutique hotel feel, which we did by layering patterns, texture, and color, and incorporating an oversized light fixture for a playful yet dramatic touch. Additionally, consider adding ample storage solutions, cozy seating areas, and versatile lighting options to create a space that is functional, inviting, and perfect for family gatherings and entertainment.

Full renovation for this Primary Bathroom. Re-worked the floor plan to create a larger walk-in shower space with custom glass enclosure. Designed a custom wooden vanity with plenty of storage, with a subtly veined quartz countertop. Free standing bathtub is surrounded by a half wall of paneling, painted in a light and bright color scheme. Neutral tile installed on bathroom floor and shower walls, with a coordinating penny tile on the shower floor and niches. Textured bamboo roman shades and floating shelves were installed for contrast and mixed and matched black and gold hardware for detail.

This 1960 house was in need of updating from both design and performance standpoints, and the project turned into a comprehensive deep energy retrofit, with thorough airtightness and insulation, new space conditioning and energy-recovery-ventilation, triple glazed windows, and an interior of incredible elegance. While we maintained the foundation and overall massing, this is essentially a new house, well equipped for a new generation of use and enjoyment.

Small bathrooms can still pack a powerful punch. The shower in this bathroom is tiled from top to bottom with a natural stone look. The tiles continue on to the floor in the bathroom to give the whole space a cohesive look and feel. The pedestal sink helps to save space, while still providing enough surface area for the essentials!
