A small existing crawl space was dug out and expanded to make room for this amazing entertainment area / office. The glass wall and double glass doors at the end of the room allows for the dramatic visual while providing a sealed space for the mechanical cooling to keep the wine at the optimum temperature. The combination of label forward aluminum racking with wood end caps and the clear-coated walnut cabinetry is a welcoming contrast. The cellar holds 373 bottles of unique wines. The back deck and garage was designed to accommodate an active families needs. Dining and grilling space close to the house for every day use, and an open rooftop space with plenty or serving and flexible space for the families ever changing needs. The deck was made with IPE decking, and the clients are going to let it grey out rather than try to oil it yearly. The grey color will contrast perfectly with the polished stainless steel cable railings. The pergola has two areas with permanent shade panels. One area is completely covered with aluminum roofing to keep the young area dry, while the other side has loved shade panels made out of cedar to let light and air through, while also blocking the to afternoon sun. The planters are position to bock unwanted views and also to define exterior rooms.

A new design esthetic for Santa Fe style: contemporary architecture, high ceilings, lots of light and rooms with openness and volume. This home seeks to find a unique balance between contemporary and rustic design language through the use of modern and primitive elements. Old reclaimed beams and doors live side-by-side honed stone countertops and shiny, polished chrome fixtures. Hand planked wood floors and hand trawled plaster walls create rooms for hand carved Casa Marrón furniture and contemporary art. The ever-changing rich landscape colors of Santa Fe inspired the color palette, uniting inside and out and creating serenity in the spaces.

This lakefront home is located on a small plateau in Forest Beach Estates, high above the lake and beach. The design of the home resulted from the Department of Environmental Qualities Critical Dunes Build-able area requirement. The resulting footprint created a flowing curved surface in plan and a curving perimeter that was covered by a curved roof. The views are spectacular from the three viewing levels of this home and allow the plan to provide multiple point panoramic vistas wherever you are in the spaces. We designed this home to be like a land ship with its ports of call the four seasons.
