In this elegant and simple kitchen renovation, the owners wanted to add extra lighting to two places in the kitchen that normally do not receive enough light - the under cabinet area and in the cabinets. The owners wanted to find a simple solution without having excess installation requirements, such as drilling and work to fit large traditional lighting fixtures. Here instead they looked to Solid Apollo for the slim and easy to install LED Strip Light - shown here in the beautiful Warm White color, which suits the wood cabinet colors. The LED Strip Light has an extremely low profile and includes double sided sticky back tape for an easy to install and permanent installation. The photos shown here show the completed kitchen with the LED Lights turned on, another photo of the renovation in progress and several photos of the dimmer, simple barrel connections, and the slide and lock LED Strip connectors for quick easy-to-hide connections. The dimmer used here is the iTouch LED Dimmer, which is a simple in-line LED Dimmer for quick and easy on/off and dimming control. And with the included double sided tape, the slim dimmer can easily be hidden in a discrete location, compared to unsightly traditional wall dimmers that upset the carefully chosen back splash designs and require excessive effort for installation.

The rear of this Central Street Neighborhood yard floods regularly during heavy rains. Rather than fight mother nature, Prassas Landscape Studio created a rain garden to store excess stormwater until it can percolate into the soil. The rain garden is also fed by the roof’s runoff and basement’s sump pump through a contemporary steel runnel. Stone steppers penetrate a curved wall to lead to the back firepit seating area. Living areas engage an inviting terrace and built-in planter defined by a stone-faced retaining wall. Passive features include a continuous foam wrap on all six faces of the exterior envelope, uninterrupted even beneath floor slabs. Sun studies conducted on a 3D model throughout the day at multiple times of the year determined the length of shading overhangs and types of glazing needed to enhance and control heat gain during both heating and cooling seasons.

These Suniva 260 watt black solar panels are part of a 3 array system that will provide electricity for a Prius EV and a Tesla EV. By taking advantage of SCE EV rate the homeowners can charge their vehicles during the super off peak rate for 9 cents per KwH between the hours of 12:00 am. and 6:00 am.
