Once again, we have had the pleasure of working with this outstanding builder on another project. Aaron Mauk not only designed but supplied and installed all the cabinetry in this new home which definitely utilizes an "open" design concept throughout. Unique lighting elements are found in every room which keeps every space fun and exciting. The kitchen uses grey tones to create a cool, clean environment that showcases the breathtaking ceilings. Most of the cabinetry in the house is shown in Marsh’s “Graphite” stain on maple wood, which is a beautiful way of tying the whole home together. This home is not only beautiful, but it is functional as well. The pull down closet rods found in the laundry room extend over the washer and dryer so it can be used when needed, but easily stored out of the way when not in use.

Our Louisville clients were proud new home owners who were excited to move into their home and start personalizing! We created a transitional design for their home that incorporates modern touches and classic lines to tie the spaces together. Our primary focus was to update the home and keep things feeling clean and fresh while making it comfortable for everyone in the family. We started by painting every room in their home, replacing all of their interior doors, and updating all of their light fixtures. One of the most transformative elements was the updated flooring throughout the home. We removed the oak floors and replaced them with a wide plank solid hickory which removed the yellow undertones and gave them a clean backdrop for the rest of the design. The clients really wanted to freshen up their kitchen and incorporate new appliances without starting from scratch, so we rearranged a few of their existing cabinets to make room for their new stove and range hood. We also lowered the original bar-height counter to make the kitchen feel more open to their family room. We then painted all of their cabinets a crisp white, replaced the crown molding, updated the hardware, replaced their counter top with a marble look quartz, and used a soft green mosaic tile on their backsplash. This home has a large family room, and the original fireplace was far too small and seemed to disappear under the 20 foot ceilings. So we removed the old square fireplace, replacing it with a linear gas fireplace and a floor-to-ceiling tiled surround with a custom wood mantle. This created a real focal point and helped to anchor the space. We then brought in a cozy blue sectional and a soft new rug to make this the perfect place for a family movie night. The clients have a real love of music, and wanted to create a space where they could lay back and enjoy their vinyls. So in their family room we created a custom stereo wall with floating cabinets and shelves to house all of their audio equipment and showcase a few of their favorites. We then furnished the room with clean and classically inspired pieces to tie in with the aesthetics in the rest of the home.

A new design esthetic for Santa Fe style: contemporary architecture, high ceilings, lots of light and rooms with openness and volume. This home seeks to find a unique balance between contemporary and rustic design language through the use of modern and primitive elements. Old reclaimed beams and doors live side-by-side honed stone countertops and shiny, polished chrome fixtures.
Hand planked wood floors and hand trawled plaster walls create rooms for hand carved Casa Marrón furniture and contemporary art. The ever-changing rich landscape colors of Santa Fe inspired the color palette, uniting inside and out and creating serenity in the spaces.

A happy east coast family gets their perfect second home on the west coast.
This family of 6 was a true joy to work with from start to finish. They were very excited to have a home reflecting the true west coast sensibility: ocean tones mixed with neutrals, modern art and playful elements, and of course durability and comfort for all the kids and guests. The pool area and kitchen got total overhauls (thanks to Jeff with Black Cat Construction) and we added a fun wine closet below the staircase. They trusted the vision of the design and made few requests for changes. And the end result was even better than they expected.

Transforming your kitchen into a modern and inviting space can be an exciting journey, especially with the stunning choices you've made. The rich, dark brown stain on the cabinetry sets a sophisticated tone, grounding the room with warmth and elegance. Complementing this, the white and gray granite countertops offer a striking contrast, adding depth and a touch of luxury while providing a durable and functional workspace.
The satin nickel hardware seamlessly blends with the overall design, adding a subtle sheen that enhances the contemporary feel without overwhelming the space. This choice reflects a keen eye for detail, ensuring that every element works harmoniously together. The gray wood-look tile flooring not only adds texture and visual interest but also ties the entire color palette together, creating a cohesive and stylish foundation for your kitchen.
Adding pops of yellow through furnishings is a brilliant move, infusing the space with energy and a cheerful vibe. This customer introduced this burst of color through bar stools and kitchen towels which instantly lifts the ambiance and adding a personalized touch. Your new kitchen is not just a place to cook but a delightful haven where style meets functionality, making it a true centerpiece of your home.

This design was for a light-hearted couple who were relocating from the coast to Kelowna and were excited to be involved in the design process. We worked together to integrate their desires and our thoughtful design elements.
Embracing the small footprint of the kitchen we structured the space with a dropped Rist white oak wood ceiling feature with black pendant accent lighting. The kitchen also features waterfall edge quartz counters, a walk-in pantry, Wolf professional appliances and the clients must have high-end wine fridge.
The kitchen seamlessly flows through to the dining room and open concept living room featuring a concrete fireplace with a white oak beam to keep them warm and cozy through the winter season.
The staircase includes thoughtful recessed step lights with the black metal railing pairing perfectly with the layered linens and whites of the home.
The master bath features soft gloss Zellige Artisanal tile with a natural edge giving that hand-made feel. The backlit shower niche has a miter edge tile.
Vanity wall sconces added the finishing touch on this space.

We loved this project! The transformation was incredible. Our client came to us asking for a master bedroom that created a space for them to retreat to at the end of a very busy day. They moved into this beautiful estate overlooking a Connecticut vineyard that yearned for a design to compliment the architecture of the home, yet personalize the transitional taste of this young couple. We wanted to bring them elements that included clean lines with some updated tradition. Gray has been the new neutral in design lately but to set it aside from the typical use of this hue, a favorite by many today, we added a touch of gold for warmth and elegance. The client's desire for a place to read and relax allowed for a seating area where they can transition to a doorway that leads them out to a beautiful stone veranda. We are excited as they are able to enjoy the start of a beautiful home redesign with a space that starts and ends their day in understated luxury.

The salty sea air and strong winds on the bluff are incredibly hard on the exterior elements of this home. Durability and simple beauty were the main goals for this amazing seaside house and deck!
We replaced the rotting cedar shake roof with a pure zinc standing seam metal roof made by Rheinzink. The deteriorating cedar siding was removed, and after extensive air sealing, was replaced with FSC-certified Ipé siding set on a rainscreen or more Rheinzink in the case of a kitchen bump-out. After the old siding and roofing were replaced we moved on to the replacing the decks and railings with more of the FSC-certified Ipé.
The final result is stunning! With the new beautiful and durable Ipé and zinc surfaces the owners are excited to enjoy their home and deck with little maintenance for years to come.

Marcin, co-owner of Rooftopia and designer of the Tea House. The tea house is a stunning structure we were excited to design and install on a very large outdoor terrace, in Wrigleyville. This private residential space, once a vast expanse of concrete pavers, is now a lush, livable and tranquil oasis. The covered patio or gazebo we named, The Tea House is comprised of Tigerwood, bamboo, Ipe, cedar, steel and retractable mesh screen doors. Underneath the solid roof is a beautiful faux tin ceiling tile that compliments and contrasts the wooden elements adding a rich, unexpected eye-catching charm.

The Nakamoto siding was selected specifically for the way it plays into that aesthetic. The horizontal shou sugi ban cedar provided the perfect weathered, timeless effect the team wanted. The homeowner was particularly excited about the siding’s slightly blue tint and how it plays off the water, and the pinkish hints throughout the wood grain were a perfect compliment to the color scheme of the home. The home is exposed to a lot of elements and insects on the water, so the durability of the siding was also key in their decision.

After speaking to the clients about their condo it was clear that they liked color and had a taste for the extraordinaire. When looking at their pictures of different styles, it seems clear that Art Deco was the style and glass was the design element they wanted to incorporate though out their home.
The family room has an overwhelming feeling of calmness, at the same time shows their personality and style. To bring in the art deco feel, the soffit was rounded over the table with a dark jade color giving the eating area a feeling of warmness. The chairs are again rounded in the art deco style. Glass vases and glass art work bring in the blue and light green theme throughout. This living room overlooks the beautiful patio where they have a lovely view.
The family room is opened to the kitchen. This kitchen is a piece of artwork and beautifully fits well with his art deco taste. The Blue Louise granite looks like a Van Gogh painting of the river that their condo overlooks. The rounded art deco design is brought into the kitchen in several ways. The wine bar is rounded on both sides with beautiful stain glass. The snack bar has a granite rounded base. The front cabinets have a beautiful stain glass design by Renaissance glasswork in downtown Nashua. The cabinets have pillow door again accentuating the rounding effect. Above the fridge is a lit up, showing wood trigs in the glass. No doubt we achieved what they wanted a truly wanted a truly unique space!
Every where you look there is something to attract your eyes and is visually exciting. It is a fantastic space, light, beautiful and shows their personality- calming and fun all at the same time.

One Riverside Park is New York’s most distinguished new address, introducing a new level of luxury to waterfront living on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. With floor to ceiling windows throughout you enjoy sweeping views of the Hudson and feel the energy of the fast-paced city that never sleeps just floors below you. With this interior the client wanted to capture that excitement but maintain a cool + comfortable environment. What we came up with is what we refer to as Industrial Chic – an interior that celebrates the grit and sexiness of the city but also embraces the metropolitan chicness that only Manhattan can provide. We took raw elements such as blackened steel, bronze and concrete and paired them with soft, tactile fabrics like cottons, silk, leathers + furs in subtle shades of greys + neutral tones to create an inviting, artistic + unique atmosphere. It’s the small yet subtle details of this interior that set the mood – buffalo leather clad columns + walls, crystal + LED wallpapers, fur rugs + bed throws and polished precious metal details throughout.
DL featured product:
DL Custom Upholstery: multi-directional sofa, DLUSH media group, modernist bedroom suite. Custom Wall Coverings: buffalo leather + cowhide wall tiles, crystal + LED wallpaper, custom graphics wallpaper. Custom Rugs: woven leather, wool, alpaca, silk graphics + fur. Lounge Chairs: altopiano leather chaise, track, marie, gordon swivel, glove + ebonized petal chair. Lighting: tokio carbon fiber, Stanhope floor, muse table, UP table, TVM table + custom fixtures. Custom built-ins + storage in natural woods + hi-gloss lacquer throughout. Special Edition + Limited Edition artworks by client.

We removed the wall between the kitchen and living room to create a fresh, airy, functional space. The arched alcove to the left of the kitchen visually balances the peninsula and hearkens back to the English Tudor architecture of the home. The beam not only provides structural integrity but a rich architectural element that ties back to the wood fireplace in the adjacent living room (not shown).

This sprawling estate is an incredible sight see!
Soaring coffered ceilings with gorgeous winding staircases set the stage for a grand entry.
We took advantage of the classical elements of this home and built our design (at the request of our amazing clients) with a heavy nod to european traditional style. Decadent silk fabrics paired with amazingly rich wall treatments bring a luxurious feeling to every room.
Heavily carved details are found on an eclectic mix of furnishings throughout the home. We incorporated some of the clients pieces from their years of collecting and traveling. Their favorite rolled arm sofa is given new life in the library once reupholstered in a cozy woven chenille.
After completing the interior, it was time to get started on the grounds!
We were so excited to design the exterior entertaining space which includes an outdoor kitchen, living and dining areas, pergola, bath and pool.
One of our favorites for sure.
