Your front door is your best defender. It protects you, your family, and your most valuable personal belongings from theft and damage.
Furthermore, VDom Doors insulate your home from extreme weather conditions, as well as unwanted animals, insects, and dust from entering. Due to its versatility, metal-plastic entrance doors are perfect for both private houses and shops, offices and administrative buildings.
Our doors have several superior features:
- Metal-plastic doors – lighter (around 120lbs for a door unit) than iron and steel doors, but no less strong and reliable! Scratch and impact resistance, easy of care and environmentally friendly
- In principle, we use only all-welded reinforcement, 1/10" thick (!) for the entrance doors. Such reinforcement is a necessary condition for real burglary resistance.
- We use an aluminum threshold with a special thermal insert that cuts off the cold from the room. We also complete with an amplifier to securely fix the bottom of the door and cut off the cold.
- 1 1/4" thick HPL sandwich panel, consists of foamed extruded Styrofoam, with rigid PVC overlays high pressure on both sides.
- Stiffening Ribs: These non-visible details add to our door's security.
- Quality insulation serves to reduce unwanted external noise, as well as protect against extreme heat, and severe cold.

Our doors have several superior features:
- Single sheet of metal is used in construction. No welded seams are best as these can significantly weaken the structural integrity of the entranceway. Our doors are also more resilient to mechanic damage, such as sledgehammer strikes.
- The advantage of a single, non-welded door is that it reduces interior internal condensation. Over time, condensation can negatively affect the door mechanisms.
- Stiffening Ribs: These non-visible details add to our door's security.
- Quality insulation serves to reduce unwanted external noise, as well as protect against extreme heat, and severe cold.

The gently sloping block allowed for a single level easy access home. Living spaces are on the north side, enjoying abundant sunlight from morning until early afternoon and a strong visual connection to the garden. The main bedroom enjoys a segregated, northerly aspect, its articulated form protruding past the living spaces provides additional shading in summer. Additional bedrooms, sitting room and utility spaces are at the rear. External rendered ‘Exsulite’ foam walls, tinted double glazing and high specification insulation means a 7.5 star energy rating. The front of the house creates interest through form and texture, driven by the decision to eliminate windows to the west. The final result, with one small window, uses metal cladding to gently wrap the curved wall leading visitors to the brightly coloured front door. The simple façade is completed by an integrated garage door, effectively hidden in a finely detailed wall of Weathertex cladding.

This custom home was built to be small and efficient! Low maintenance and something to grow old in is the theme here, but of course still a beautiful craftsman.

This project was designed for a young newlywed couple and was a wedding gift from their parents. It was their first home, but certainly not their permanent residence, so we had to design a functional and beautiful space while keeping costs down. At Evergreen, we know that saving money doesn’t mean sacrificing quality, and there’s a big difference between affordable construction and poor-quality construction. We designed a house with everything necessary: a complete open-plan kitchen, a spacious and bright living room, two comfortable and light-filled bedrooms (not very large), and a bathroom with space for a washing machine. Externally, the house blended seamlessly with the main house, respecting its style and color palette. The final result speaks for itself; we enjoyed building it from scratch and considering every detail.

This built-in was a small part of a project that coincided with some modern hand railing and ladders.
We played around with some interesting lines through the design process.
The result was this geometric abstraction design back panel (all built in reclaimed Ash) meant to draw attention to a space that could have been stark.
The objective of this design also needed to be functional.
We incorporated a tiered offset reclaimed Ash shelf unit that allows the light to fall through and tastefully illuminate the records.
The slatted feature below is a cover panel for the lower space housing electronic (i.e. router, external hard drive…).
Its built with 3/4″ reclaimed Ash slats resting in laser cut slots in the steel rails.
The space allocation between each slat allows for air movement for the electronics.

The Main Stay House exists as a straightforward proposal on an urban infill lot, paring down the components of a house to a minimal amount of planes and openings. The scheme is anchored by a modern entry sequence and a staircase volume, both clad in iron spot masonry externally and internally, creating thresholds between the respective realms of public, common and private, by minimal means. The masonry contrasts with an otherwise muted interior atmosphere of smooth, desaturated surfaces.
The entry sequence is a twist upon the conventional domestic front door, front facade, and fence. The front masonry wall replaces the typical residential fence and frames an indirect access to the front door, functioning as a privacy barrier while revealing slices of the interior to the public street.
The staircase bifurcates the layout to provide a clear division between the common and private zones of the house, while clearly reading as a mass from all outside view. Brick and glass become portals between common and private zones.
The design consolidates the service core along the west façade, allowing the structure to fully open the living zone to the pool court and existing trees. This directly connects interior and exterior, as well as human and nature. Freedom to vary the program or functional use of the area is enabled and strongly encouraged.

This secluded single-family home in Great Falls, had a beautiful backyard setting. The owners recently built a gorgeous pool and surround deck on the right side of the house in their backyard. They inherited a rundown deck off of the kitchen patio doors.
Our team designed a two-story outdoor living addition which offers the family everything that they can hope for in outdoor living.
Our massive plan required excavation to make the lower level patio both attractive and functional for all kinds of outdoor activity. We excavated down two feet to create a nine-foot high patio, cut concrete walls to add French doors from to dark and unused side of the basement bringing improved use for the basement.
The entire back wall was covered with matching brick veneer to entire front and side elevations.
The roof of this patio was covered with EPDM roofing rolls to make the lower patio stay dry and protected.
Steps away from pool sun deck, this flagstone covered patio turned into a prime space for entertainment.
The built-in middle bar equipped with under counter beverage fridge and beer tab to make gatherings more exciting. The side steps built in with matching solid stone threads offered access to driveway and the second floor covered porch.
The second floor is finished with porcelain floor tiles, stain grade ceiling panels, wrought iron rails, decorative recessed panel columns, hanging gorgeous ceiling fans steps away from the kitchen.
Just outside of this covered porch, there is a deck with the same tile floor facing the pool area offering a breath taking view.
Carefully selection of soft toned wood looking plank porcelain tiles compliment the knotty soft grey stain ceiling panels making this project one that shines even on rainy days.
The custom-made spiral rod iron staircase offers an elegant second set of steps so that the upper level deck can reach into backyard and pool deck.

The Bolton-Schluter residence, located in the rural mountainous residential neighborhood of Topanga Canyon, has 2500 square feet of interior living space, with an additional 1650 square feet of exterior decks and stairs, plus garage. The wooded hillside lot is 75’ wide and 600’ deep with three large oaks that are protected by local ordinance. The garage sits on the relatively level ground adjacent to the street. The house itself “climbs” up the 40% slope upwards, achieving a 44’ elevation gain to the scenic views at the top.
The design concept for the Bolton-Schluter residence combined a strong theoretical approach with the rigid building constraints of the area. The protected oak trees dictated the required angles of the stair, which, along with the natural angles of the contours on the site, and certain directional bearings in the landscape / horizon in the distance gave rise to a conceptual ordering system controlling the internal and external geometry of the house.

The brief:
Our clients own an apartment in a mansion block overlooking Clapham Common. They wanted to modernise and bring the apartment up to date and had a few goals:
To change the existing small cellular spaces in the apartment to create a new open-plan room
To extend into the loft and create a new master bedroom suite
To create a roof terrace for some much-needed private outdoor space
The key to the brief was to ensure a good connection between the different levels of the apartment and ensure natural light could flood into all spaces. The apartment is in a conservation area, which was an important consideration.
The solution:
We changed the primary room space to run from the front to the back of the building. This change created the large kitchen dining living space our clients wanted, an area with good natural light throughout and at all times of the day.
We created a master bedroom suite in the loft space, with generous room size and lots of natural light.
The limitations of the building’s form meant that a critical aspect to creating these larger living spaces was carefully considered smaller areas, including the bathrooms and a pocket utility room. The circulation space was carefully considered, too, with the landings used for storage in the form of new joinery.
The stairs were vital in the design. Creating an in-between/half level meant we made the most of the flat roof extension for a bedroom suite and terrace. It also helped natural light get into the centre of the apartment, creating a clear connection between the different floors.
The stairs also help to mark the difference between the existing and the new. We shifted the design from a minimalist take on traditional metal balustraded stairs to open tread steel stairs with a glazed balustrade.
Externally, we kept the design quite simple and in keeping with the context. By adding dormers to the front and back, we created a sculptural and fun loft space.
The result:
A spacious, light and luxurious apartment for our clients Gareth and Mary in a Clapham Common Conservation area.
We asked about their experience with Granit, and we are pleased with their response:
Our experience overall is very good, even with the unexpected difficulties created by Covid.
If you are thinking of appointing an architect and interior design firm, Granit should be seriously considered.
