Before & After: Deck Railing Transformation
We don't do a lot of small repairs, but these were friends of ours and other contractors were not showing up or responding. We were thrilled to restore their outdoor oasis so they could enjoy it again. This old leaning railing was not only an eyesore—it was a safety hazard. We removed the failing structure and replaced it with a clean, pressure-treated railing system that enhances both the look and safety of the deck.
✅ Sturdy 4x4 posts
✅ Tight, evenly spaced balusters
✅ Clean top rail for a polished finish
✅ Ready for stain or paint to match the deck

This Mequon master on-suite from the 80's was in serious need of a face lift! While it may be a large bathroom, it certainly was not up to date and did not meet the needs of the client.
We designed a complete gut and re-build including the removal of a window that only looked over the solarium below!
The result is a timeless design that allowed the homeowner to sell his home, after many failed attempts with the old bathroom, and meets the needs of the future buyers!

This giant ranch house started with an awkward full wall of brick over a porch on the entire right side of the house. The builder failed to properly flash the wall causing the water to come down through the ceiling of the porch below. We demoed the wall, sheathed it with OSB and Tyvek Homewrap, and built back with Hardie siding with a board and batten upper section to break up 26' tall wall. We also repaired the porch area, some interior damaged, refinished the mahogany doors, and repaired the brick on the other side of the house.

"Jennifer helped us turn our current home into the beautiful space we had always desired but failed with two previous decorators. Jennifer is smart, hard-working and reliable. Jennifer is honest and fun to be around, which made the process more enjoyable!"

Working around the original stone porch columns, MainStreet Design Build was challenged with integrating them purposefully into the porch, while also correcting several years of failed attempts at remodeling the home to its classic roots.

It was in 2012 when Mike Spreckelmeier first met Roy and Patti. They had been despondent after meeting with multiple contractors in an attempt to start their kitchen remodel. The contractors lacked follow through, came tardy to meetings and even failed to show up at others.
Determined to leave nothing to chance in the pursuit of their dream, Roy and Patti followed up on a recommendation after overhearing a conversation that was taking place while they were standing in a gallingly long line waiting to cast a vote on Election Day.
With a solid recommendation to pursue, Roy and Patti contacted Progressive Design Build. The rest is history.
Mike showed up on time. For a small retainer, he provided preliminary sketches, ideas for maximizing space and storage, and solutions for a sunken family room that created a safety hazard and a problem with traffic flow. More importantly, he designed the project to the homeowners’ budget.
Progressive Design Build shot some different elevations and designed a plan to raise the floor, allowing all finished floors to be on the same level. Upon completion, the kitchen was stunning. Features included LED backlit fire glass shelving, white recessed panel cabinets, a subway tile backsplash, Granite countertop, integrated refrigerator, undermount sink, and more.
The living room was designed with complimentary finishes and included a natural stone fireplace wall with open cabinets flanked on both sides. The 12’ fireplace was made with a floor-to-ceiling white pebble finish.
This Bonita Bay project completed on time and on budget—allowing this fabulous family a wonderful opportunity to create lasting memories for many years to come.

Originally built in 1835, years of deferred maintance and a failing foundation rendered this home in need of a serious help. The home had poorly constructed additions removed, it's core historic structure was raise out of the flood zone, and the angled walls were brought to plumb. The interior was then crafted for contemporary living while maintaining the windows and details of the original home. A complementary addition was added to create an inviting kitchen and master suite. Now re-built and strengthened, it is ready to add to the city's charm for another 150 years.

Our new client requested our services for the exterior painting of their 1895 Needham home. The entire exterior was initially scrubbed by hand with bleach and jomax. The siding, trim and casings were scraped of any failing paint, feather sanded and spot primed on the bare wood. The front porch columns, lattice railings, and ceiling were applied one finish coat. Sherwin Williams paint was used to match the existing exterior colors.
