Our home office design embodies our core values, providing an ideal canvas to showcase our distinctive design love language, fusing modern aesthetics with Japandi, pastoral, and biophilic influences to create spaces that feel inspiring, familiar and uplifting. We set out to showcase how a small bedroom can be successfully converted into a home office/guest bedroom. The home office has become a paramount requirement in every home we design, The design blends clean lines, natural materials, and a serene ambiance for a creative workspace. We incorporated sleek furniture, neutral tones, and subtle nods to modern, pastoral and Japanese aesthetics for a harmonious ​ We elevated each space, from the sophisticated walk-in closet with striking black wallcoverings and pristine white shelving, to the tranquil guest bathroom imbued with Japandi Zen influences. Clean lines, natural materials, and subtle nods to Japanese aesthetics converge, creating harmonious retreats tailored to modern living.

MAN-1100-NAT-NAT - Mānuka - Bamboo / Polycarbonate Pendant - 44 - Natural Manuka came about from David’s observations of the native Manuka tree while tramping in the New Zealand bush. He initially developed a screen based on its delicate white flowers. Using the geometry of polyhedra the light was a natural progression of the screen. NIK-HALF-NAT-LIM - Nīkau - Bamboo Pendant - Half - Natural (Side A) - Lime (Side B) NIK-HALF-NAT-ORA - Nīkau - Bamboo Pendant - Half - Natural (Side A) - Orange (Side B) Nikau is the only indigenous palm tree in New Zealand, named apparently because unlike the coconut palm familiar to Polynesians, it has no nuts. The fronds from the palm were traditionally used for thatching and weaving. It has a large bulb at the top of its trunk and its leaves overlap in the criss-cross patterns which inspired this light.

Once again, Tyler Homes has put its distinctive touch on a familiar architectural design, this time a prairie home interpreted for the 21st century. The main level offers a central great room with 12-foot beamed ceiling and a study with sliding barn doors. In the kitchen, commercial grade appliances and a hidden walk-in pantry offer modern convenience. A master suite with luxurious amenities, including a walk-in shower and separate tub, offers a private retreat with separate access to the covered patio as well as the laundry room. On the second floor, you’ll find two bedrooms with a Jack-and-Jill bath; a third bedroom with private bath and loft access; and a raised loft with views of the back yard. The home’s walkout lower level continues the prairie styling but with the best features of contemporary living. A sunken family room with bar, a game room, and a fifth bedroom/exercise room provide plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. Tyler Homes has even included a dog room with its own little entrance. Wood ceiling beams and unique architectural accents throughout the home enhance the prairie design

Dune Desk and Dune Filing Cabinet The essence of easygoing elegance, Dune offers an escape from the everyday and a return to simplicity. Its modern organic style draws inspiration from the enduring appeal of natural elements honed over time. The collection features classic, comfortable silhouettes crafted of Bleached Walnut and highlighted with finishes that feel comfortable and familiar. Casually elegant details such as White Bronze metal ferrules and hardware, along with woven Lampakanay add another layer of luxe texture. From daybreak to sunset, Dune offers the promise of a life well-lived.

In 2016, Doug Sturgess exhibited a large collection of his photographic artwork in the main lobby of Bank of America Plaza in Atlanta. The exhibit featured striking images of Atlanta alongside scenes from international destinations, highlighting his signature focus on architecture, landscapes, and vibrant urban environments. The display offered visitors a chance to engage with both familiar and faraway places through Sturgess' distinctive photographic style.

This residence was designed for an English couple who wanted a true Spanish style home. Drawing from the Spanish tradition, it features an imported Spanish tile roof, true stucco on masonry exteriors, limed oak and African slate floors, limestone columns and true plaster walls. Familiar English style details were incorporated with a cherry library and an English kitchen with waxed pine cabinetry.

Constructed in two phases, this renovation, with a few small additions, touched nearly every room in this late ‘50’s ranch house. The owners raised their family within the original walls and love the house’s location, which is not far from town and also borders conservation land. But they didn’t love how chopped up the house was and the lack of exposure to natural daylight and views of the lush rear woods. Plus, they were ready to de-clutter for a more stream-lined look. As a result, KHS collaborated with them to create a quiet, clean design to support the lifestyle they aspire to in retirement. To transform the original ranch house, KHS proposed several significant changes that would make way for a number of related improvements. Proposed changes included the removal of the attached enclosed breezeway (which had included a stair to the basement living space) and the two-car garage it partially wrapped, which had blocked vital eastern daylight from accessing the interior. Together the breezeway and garage had also contributed to a long, flush front façade. In its stead, KHS proposed a new two-car carport, attached storage shed, and exterior basement stair in a new location. The carport is bumped closer to the street to relieve the flush front facade and to allow access behind it to eastern daylight in a relocated rear kitchen. KHS also proposed a new, single, more prominent front entry, closer to the driveway to replace the former secondary entrance into the dark breezeway and a more formal main entrance that had been located much farther down the facade and curiously bordered the bedroom wing. Inside, low ceilings and soffits in the primary family common areas were removed to create a cathedral ceiling (with rod ties) over a reconfigured semi-open living, dining, and kitchen space. A new gas fireplace serving the relocated dining area -- defined by a new built-in banquette in a new bay window -- was designed to back up on the existing wood-burning fireplace that continues to serve the living area. A shared full bath, serving two guest bedrooms on the main level, was reconfigured, and additional square footage was captured for a reconfigured master bathroom off the existing master bedroom. A new whole-house color palette, including new finishes and new cabinetry, complete the transformation. Today, the owners enjoy a fresh and airy re-imagining of their familiar ranch house. Inspiration for a contemporary home theater remodel in Los Angeles

A small enclosed kitchen is very common in many homes such as the home that we remodeled here. Opening a wall to allow natural light to penetrate the space is a must. When budget is important the solution can be as you see in this project - the wall was opened and removed but a structural post remained and it was incorporated in the design. The blue modern flat paneled cabinets was a perfect choice to contras the very familiar gray scale color scheme but it’s still compliments it since blue is in the correct cold color spectrum. Notice the great black windows and the fantastic awning window facing the pool. The awning window is great to be able to serve the exterior sitting area near the pool. Opening the wall also allowed us to compliment the kitchen with a nice bar/island sitting area without having an actual island in the space. The best part of this kitchen is the large built-in pantry wall with a tall wine fridge and a lovely coffee area that we built in the sitting area made the kitchen expend into the breakfast nook and doubled the area that is now considered to be the kitchen.

From bare studs to bright and stunning, This customer tore their former kitchen down to its foundation to build this kitchen inspiration. With a soft blend of whites, grays, and Hickory wood throughout the space, the natural light from the windows makes this kitchen glow with warmth. This kitchen is an example of when simplistic elegance is enough. Featuring a custom beverage bar, a charming small desk, a walk-in pantry, as well as an intentional bottom-heavy design with few wall cabinets, this kitchen marries aesthetics and functionality, the familiarity of a farmhouse, and the efficiency of a commercial kitchen.

Located in the Rolling Hills community of San Luis Obispo, this single-family residence was renovated and enlarged to suit expanded living and entertaining needs. Surrounded by beautiful Edna Valley, the home was remodeled in the modern farmhouse style. The house was extended along its axis, and the ceilings in main rooms were vaulted to create a sense of grandeur in the central space. Large windows were added to capture the views of Edna Valley, and give additional light to a previously dimly lit ranch style home. The slider opposite the entry helps to connect the home to the outdoor spaces and leads to the rear patio where a pool and barbecue area await. The owner, an art curator and artist had a vision for the interior transformation, and worked with an interior designer to make it come to life. Many unique touches can be found inside, such as the antique slate farmhouse sink, and large butler’s pantry. The expansive kitchen, living and dining areas are perfect for entertaining guests, or relaxing with family. Vintage furniture and fixtures were paired with contemporary colors and clean lines to create a familiar yet fresh atmosphere.
