DOWNTOWN SARASOTA CONDO This condominium sits on Sarasota Bay in downtown Sarasota. These built-ins are contemporary in design as is the entire condo. The Interior Designer is Sally Trout Interiors. The Contractor is Longboat Key Builders. The Great Room Built-In houses the 100” T.V., storage and display space. The finishes are “New Gray” paint and a “Storm Grey” stain on Flat Cut Maple. The countertop and the tops of the doors are mitred to eliminate the countertop edge. The Study is configured to house 8 lateral file drawers, a roll out shelf for the shredder and lots of space for books and display. Note that the countertop edge, the shelves and the uprights are all beveled and mitered to each other. Details like that are a Eurotech specialty.

Perched on the third floor of this home, a work at home office space is complete with a separate desk area for employees, space to meet with clients, a separate storage closet and full bathroom. Not a bad commute! Photography by Peter Rymwid.

Guest Bedroom / Home office: Functional Murphy Bed opens for a relaxing stay for guests. To the right of the murphy bed is a dedicated guest corner cabinet housing electronic charging stations, drawer for smaller personal items, base cabinet below with pull-out trays for larger items. Larger drawers under the window are vertical filing cabinets for use as a Home Office. Around the perimeter is Custom Lacquer finished Cherry Wainscoting incorporating chair rail above, Flat panel sections with solid 1 x stock duplicating the door and drawer front style below. The lady of the house has a sophisticated and elegant study. Quite different from the kitchen counter piles of paper found in so many homes. The beautiful oval desk placed in the center of the room has file drawers and a book shelf on the front of the desk. There is easy access to the credenza behind the desk and a clear line of sight to the flat screen TV. Grass cloth wallpaper, sumptuous fabrics, hardwood floors, and a timeless oriental area rug come together to make this a comfortable and functional command central for a busy family.
