This young couple was in need of an updated, functional kitchen before they started to grow their family. The original kitchen was consumed with dated finishes and materials. The function didn’t flow right as well. Not only did the garage access, directly into the kitchen, invite garage smells but just as importantly broke up the needed cabinetry space. Our client also desired elements such as a stand up island, new appliances, wine rack, and custom cabinetry allowing creative storage. By gutting the entire kitchen to the studs we were also able to reinforce walls, add spray foam insulation, and update mechanicals. They now have a light and airy kitchen full of function to live in for many years or at least until they outgrow it!

We maximized every inch of this narrow mudroom by stacking the washer and dryer and surrounding them with custom cabinetry for full-height storage. Built-in cubbies, a drop zone bench, and wall hooks create a functional entry space that keeps clutter off the floor and essentials within reach.

We love this kitchen too! This is custom cabinetry with inset construction done to perfection. Maple cabinets painted white while the island is cherry with a dark rich stain. Scale and function are impossible to ignore. The glass door cabinets with the X mullion and the plate rack make this a simple elegance that everyone would love. This garage supports entertainment with a rolling commercial refrigerator, spacious 24"D x 96"H enclosed pantry cabinets and rear overhead door that opens onto a patio. Karen and Chad of Tower Lakes, IL were tired of their unfinished basement functioning as nothing more than a storage area and depressing gym. They wanted to increase the livable square footage of their home with a cohesive finished basement design, while incorporating space for the kids and adults to hang out. “We wanted to make sure that upon renovating the basement, that we can have a place where we can spend time and watch movies, but also entertain and showcase the wine collection that we have,” Karen said. After a long search comparing many different remodeling companies, Karen and Chad found Advance Design Studio. They were drawn towards the unique “Common Sense Remodeling” process that simplifies the renovation experience into predictable steps focused on customer satisfaction. “There are so many other design/build companies, who may not have transparency, or a focused process in mind and I think that is what separated Advance Design Studio from the rest,” Karen said. Karen loved how designer Claudia Pop was able to take very high-level concepts, “non-negotiable items” and implement them in the initial 3D drawings. Claudia and Project Manager DJ Yurik kept the couple in constant communication through the project. “Claudia was very receptive to the ideas we had, but she was also very good at infusing her own points and thoughts, she was very responsive, and we had an open line of communication,” Karen said. A very important part of the basement renovation for the couple was the home gym and sauna. The “high-end hotel” look and feel of the openly blended work out area is both highly functional and beautiful to look at. The home sauna gives them a place to relax after a long day of work or a tough workout. “The gym was a very important feature for us,” Karen said. “And I think (Advance Design) did a very great job in not only making the gym a functional area, but also an aesthetic point in our basement”. An extremely unique wow-factor in this basement is the walk in glass wine cellar that elegantly displays Karen and Chad’s extensive wine collection. Immediate access to the stunning wet bar accompanies the wine cellar to make this basement a popular spot for friends and family. The custom-built wine bar brings together two natural elements; Calacatta Vicenza Quartz and thick distressed Black Walnut. Sophisticated yet warm Graphite Dura Supreme cabinetry provides contrast to the soft beige walls and the Calacatta Gold backsplash. An undermount sink across from the bar in a matching Calacatta Vicenza Quartz countertop adds functionality and convenience to the bar, while identical distressed walnut floating shelves add an interesting design element and increased storage. Rich true brown Rustic Oak hardwood floors soften and warm the space drawing all the areas together. Across from the bar is a comfortable living area perfect for the family to sit down at a watch a movie. A full bath completes this finished basement with a spacious walk-in shower, Cocoa Brown Dura Supreme vanity with Calacatta Vicenza Quartz countertop, a crisp white sink and a stainless-steel Voss faucet. Advance Design’s Common Sense process gives clients the opportunity to walk through the basement renovation process one step at a time, in a completely predictable and controlled environment. “Everything was designed and built exactly how we envisioned it, and we are really enjoying it to it’s full potential,” Karen said. Inspiration for a mid-sized l-shaped laundry room remodel in Birmingham

A work-smart kitchen layout was a must for this homeowner. That’s why she got together with the Renovisions team. In the old kitchen, lack of enough cabinet space and organized storage, created an overflowing situation with contents pushed to the countertops, making it hard to escape the clutter. Moreover, the inconvenient position of the refrigerator made entering and exiting the kitchen literally a squeeze. Redesigning the kitchen was a challenge but Ed envisioned a new spacious layout that naturally flowed between all work areas. At the top of the must-have list was the addition of an Island with an electric cooktop and much needed deep drawer storage. To create a better flow, the work surfaces, storage and appliances were arranged in the most functional way. The microwave was built into the cabinetry with an adjacent pull-out spice rack and it is closer to the refrigerator making reheating food easier. The key part of overhauling this kitchen was upgrading the cabinetry, countertops, and appliances as well as adding a unique backsplash tile. Renovisions suggested the gorgeous maple wood cabinetry with a light grey stain. The stainless steel appliances play off the grey cabinetry, colorful veining in the granite countertops and attractive glass subway tile, giving the kitchen a sleeker and more modern look.

When it comes to lighting, think layers. Here we used functional recessed lighting in the ceiling and under the cabinets. The sconces on the sides of the hood are more of a design element, while the LED cove lighting that lines the ceiling beams set a softer tone at night. Sargent Photo

This beautiful Downtown Toronto condo, with magnificent views of the city, and Toronto Island, required some updates to the original kitchen. There were space & storage issues mainly, and much of the upper cabinets were open and not very functional. The kitchen island also needed to be transformed into a functional area with proper storage as well. Our clients really wanted to transform this space into a beautiful modern kitchen with clean lines and warm wood accents, while including a number of automated features. This was achieved with Sub Zero refrigeration and wine cooling, along with enhanced Miele cooking features. They include an induction stove with steam features, and a built in speed oven. This kitchen also features touch faucet controls, Casetta Wireless, and Lutron Serena wireless shades to assist with bright southern exposures.

Entertaining in a bathroom never looked so good. Probably a thought that never crossed your mind, but a space as unique as this can do just that. The fusion of so many elements: an open concept shower, freestanding tub, washer/dryer organization, toilet room and urinal created an exciting spacial plan. Ultimately, the freestanding tub creates the first vantage point. This breathtaking view creates a calming effect and each angle pivoting off this point exceeds the next. Following the open concept shower, is the washer/dryer and storage closets which double as decor, incorporating mirror into their doors. The double vanity stands in front of a textured wood plank tile laid horizontally establishing a modern backdrop. Lastly, a rustic barn door separates a toilet and a urinal, an uncharacteristic residential choice that pairs well with beer, wings, and hockey.

The original kitchen was tight and cramped, offering little storage and function. the clients wanted more countertop space and more storage solutions. They also wanted an open space plan, with views into their backyard, and to allow more natural light into the space. The wall separating the kitchen and living space was removed and a large picturesque window was installed above the sink, creating a large and open space.
