For this project, we drastically increased the square footage of this urban Chicago Style bungalow. With a complete 1st floor layout change including an open stairwell and open floor plan, and the expansion of the attic into a full second story addition (adding 3 bedrooms and two full baths to the home), this home became more spacious and livable. We installed a brand new kitchen with modern finishes with a light grey shaker island, and custom vanities cast in tile to give this home a sleek finish. By redigging the basement to heighten the ceilings, and upgrading it into a family area/rec room complete with another bedroom and a bathroom, the basement transformed from a storage unit to an inviting space in the home.

Our St. Pete studio gave this gorgeous home a beautiful makeover with a neutral color palette that nicely highlights the thoughtful design details. We added cottage-style barn doors for the bathroom giving it an elegant charm that heightens the stunning designs of the space. In the kitchen, we used the classic black and white theme, punctuated with organic elements like plants and wooden shelves that create a warm, lived-in feel. We added an attractive area rug in the dining room along with beautiful artwork and statement lighting to create visual interest. This chic 1950's convertible coffee / dining table is by Castro Design. The table is 48 inches long by 44 inches wide and can easily heighten from 16 to 29 inches. The mid-century dining chair, shown in an ebony finish with mohair upholstery is truly unique in design and available without arms. Hardiplank siding in varied widths is set up in vertical panels (with trim separations) to animate the façade along the South elevation. The siding is part of a rain- screen system as part of the sustainable design initiatives of the project. The rainscreen provides heightened moisture protection to the structure. In this one bedroom apartment, rich blue panels were installed as a headboard. A rug almost completely covers the carpeted flooring. Two end tables were added, with doors, as night stands. My client loves books and the shelving serves better than drawers in this case. The beautiful pair of marble lamps heighten the timeless look of this room's design with round gold mirrors in the background. Classic white linen's, with velvet pillows, finish off this elegant space.
