Rainforest marble is not technically a marble; it's a serpentinite, which is rock composed predominantly of one or more serpentine minerals and is known for its healing qualities. Due to its elegant, smooth appearance similar to marble, it is often referred to as marble. The name "Rainforest" comes from the distinctive veining that looks like tree branches or a "rainforest jungle". This particular marble is very strong and characteristics in veining and movement will tend to vary greatly between stones. Rainforest green marble all comes from the same quarry in Rajasthan, India. Rainforest green is a very unique extravagant looking marble consisting of rich, earthy green tones, and deep brown veining.

Natural stone varies in color due to the different hues of the natural particles that make-up the product. All stones are natural and vary in color, intensity and veining. Photos are provided as an indication only. It is the variation in natural stone that makes each fountain quite unique.
Since this product is natural stone, color and texture variances are not defects within the material, but are inherent to it and part of the natural beauty of quarried materials. Our natural stone slabs are imported from quarries worldwide. The Classic Quarry Line contains stunning slices of the natural world.
Due to the broad range of colors and textures (Granite excluded) you may wish to select your own stone. This previously unnoticed half-bath/laundry room is now a stunner thanks to the Renovisions team. The overall idea was to create enough storage and organization for this busy household yet be beautifully distinctive for guests who use this space. This plan included a stackable washer and dryer center with shelf, clothes rod and pull-down drying rack which was a creative space saving solution to maximize use of the laundry closet. Renovisions re-used the existing entry door and built-out a pocket which not only makes the space feel larger and less cluttered but is easier to enter and exit. When the Renovision was completed and turned over to our client, she was absolutely thrilled with the results as indicated by her comment below. Gorgeous light blue/grey marble basket weave floor tile is a perfect match for the dark blue/grey painted finish of the furniture piece vanity with slotted shelf for towels and accessories. The sconce light fixtures in chrome finish adds a little sparkle to this clean and classy look. Beautiful marble-look quartz countertops tie in nicely and played a part in transforming this ordinary powder room into a high-functioning, beautiful part of the home that is comfortable, livable and well appointed.

When designing this kitchen update and addition, Phase One had to keep function and style top of mind, all the time. The homeowners are masters in the kitchen and also wanted to highlight the great outdoors and the future location of their pool, so adding window banks were paramount, especially over the sink counter. The bathrooms renovations were hardly a second thought to the kitchen; one focuses on a large shower while the other, a stately bathtub, complete with frosted glass windows Stylistic details such as a bright red sliding door, and a hand selected fireplace mantle from the mountains were key indicators of the homeowners trend guidelines. Storage was also very important to the client and the home is now outfitted with 12.

Carving Kids I Oak plank in 3-layer construction, bevelled on the long side and with approx. 4 mm top layer, with approx. 4 mm backing in the same wood and middle layer conifer. Tongue and groove on all sides for easy installation. Cracks, branch knots and splay knots are highlighted with black putty. Colour variations and some sapwood are possible. Small open cracks and unsealed spots in the millimetre range are allowed. The graphic design is split across 3 floor planks and is repeated several times lengthwise. The planks are numbered on the head end of the groove (1/3, 2/3, 3/3). In order to avoid joins in the same position, there are indicators where to cut and these are marked with CUT along the groove.

This customer purchased a Decorist room makeover because she needed help pulling together her living room in a fresh way. She wanted to keep the sofa, but was open to changing all other elements. Understated and "unfussy" was the look she wanted. She also indicated that she liked the look of mixed styles, and mixed materials...which is just what Decorist designer Jen did, pairing a classic tufted chair with a more streamlined sofa, for example. The hanging, mercury pendants are one of our favorite features...a chic, unexpected element! Photo Credit: Margo Hartford

Staircase - huge contemporary wooden u-shaped glass railing staircase idea in Toronto

Our clients loved this tree-lined older, established neighborhood. They bought a house there that needed substantial renovations as it probably had not been updated in 30-40 years. They contacted Shapiro & Co in hopes that they would be able to transition an older, outdated house to a home that retained its character but was redesigned to meet the current needs of the family. The house foyer was very small and not accomodating for visitors so the architects relocated the entry and added a welcoming front porch. After an assessment of the existing conditions, it was determined that the kitchen, while serving its purpose in the 1940s, was completely out of character and in the wrong location for a modern family's needs. So the architects relocated and created an entirely new kitchen, and family and dining spaces. As indicative of homes in the ’40s and '50s, the master bedroom and bathroom were very small and not meeting current needs. Therefore we repurposed one bedroom into the master bath and dressing area and reorganized and enlarged the master bedroom area. The original second-floor plan was very small and confining. We captured some attic space and were able to create two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a central common room for the children. By a sensitive assessment of the client’s needs and while maintaining the charm of the home, we were able to completely renovate and enlarge the house while keeping it in context with the beautiful neighborhood.

Two design elements that contribute to the deck’s distinctive finished appearance are picture framing and parting boards. You see the art of picture framing where we used darker contrasting boards to frame the pool and its concrete shoulder. We inserted parting boards where two sections of the deck meet with boards running diagonally in different directions. Diagonals running in different directions and set off with parting boards are visual markers indicating sections of the deck that can be used as individual rooms.
