A previous client (Big Wood Lane) reached out to us to help design a remodel of a recently purchased on the south shore of Lake Minnetonka. The home had grown organically since its original construction in 1945. It had evolved over time to accommodate the needs of its numerous owners. Our client brought a new set of needs to the home that included a desire to make the lake home a comfortable destination for family and friends. The project consisted of reconfiguring an outdated, inefficient kitchen, expansion of the bedroom wing to include individual bathrooms for bedrooms and redesign of the central stair guard rail. The redesign of the kitchen included repositioning major appliances for greater efficiency, more seating at an enlarged island, a new pantry, and expanded views to the lake. The expansion of the bedroom wing included eliminating a three-season porch on top of the garage on the inland side of the home. The space above the garage roof was enclosed and turned into dedicated bathrooms for each bedroom. These bathrooms are accessible only from the bathrooms which provide privacy and convenience to visitors.

We transformed an inefficient walk-in closet/bathroom into a luxury master bathroom. The walk-in closet was relocated to another area. We wanted to update the master bathroom to be a more modern and open layout. There were existing skylights that we wanted to utilize and brighten the space because it was dark, dated, and closed off, making the layout inefficient. The client also wanted to add a tub, which did not exist. We reconfigured the entire layout to allow for adding a freestanding tub. We accomplished this by designing the shower and tub area to create a wet room on one side of the space.

This Bonney Lake bathroom remodel turned an outdated space into a sleek and modern oasis. The shower transformation was a key highlight, featuring a built-in bench, recessed niches, and a frameless glass enclosure for a spacious feel. High-efficiency lighting and modern ventilation were installed to improve both ambiance and air circulation. The fixtures were carefully selected, blending matte black and gold finishes to create a bold and refined contrast. The final result is a stunning, high-end bathroom that balances beauty with practicality. This Bonney Lake remodel showcases expert craftsmanship, premium materials, and a design that enhances both comfort and home value.

The remodel of this family's home began with updating the master bedroom and bathroom. The clients were so thrilled with the results that the project scope increased to include the renovation of their entire home. Brunswick Parlour transforms a Victorian cottage into a hard-working, personalised home for a family of four. Our clients loved the character of their Brunswick terrace home, but not its inefficient floor plan and poor year-round thermal control. They didn't need more space, they just needed their space to work harder. The front bedrooms remain largely untouched, retaining their Victorian features and only introducing new cabinetry. Meanwhile, the main bedroom’s previously pokey en suite and wardrobe have been expanded, adorned with custom cabinetry and illuminated via a generous skylight. At the rear of the house, we reimagined the floor plan to establish shared spaces suited to the family’s lifestyle. Flanked by the dining and living rooms, the kitchen has been reoriented into a more efficient layout and features custom cabinetry that uses every available inch. In the dining room, the Swiss Army Knife of utility cabinets unfolds to reveal a laundry, more custom cabinetry, and a craft station with a retractable desk. Beautiful materiality throughout infuses the home with warmth and personality, featuring Blackbutt timber flooring and cabinetry, and selective pops of green and pink tones. The house now works hard in a thermal sense too. Insulation and glazing were updated to best practice standard, and we’ve introduced several temperature control tools. Hydronic heating installed throughout the house is complemented by an evaporative cooling system and operable skylight. The result is a lush, tactile home that increases the effectiveness of every existing inch to enhance daily life for our clients, proving that good design doesn’t need to add space to add value.

This Primary Suite renovation was designed to enhance both functionality and aesthetics, creating a luxurious yet practical retreat. A dramatic transformation from a small dark kitchen to bright open concept kitchen and living space. The original kitchen was closed off, by knocking down a wall we were able to create a more open kitchen with an a-symmetrical island with plenty of seating. The most unique feature of this kitchen is the hood that's recessed in a sofit over the island. Cooking in the island can present a ventilation problem. Down draft ranges are inefficient and a hood that hangs from the ceiling can be an eye sore. This solution lets the hood blend in with the ceiling and gets it out of the way.

Big changes at this Wayne Pa kitchen remodel. This homes original kitchen was tight and poorly designed for the space. We removed a wall between the kitchen and an adjoining sitting room as well as a ton of inefficient framed pantries and closets to open up the space. We installed a new 7 ½’ window overlooking the backyard patio and pool as well as bringing great natural light into the space. With a family of 5 this customer needed lots of storage and fridge space. We designed the new kitchen with this in mind. The Fabuwood cabinetry in the Galaxy Frost door style gives this kitchen a clean bright feel and all the pantries and 2 fridges give the customer all the storage they could dream of. The flooring was replaced throughout the first floor and kitchen with kid and lifestyle friendly Coretec waterproof luxury vinyl which will hold up to plenty of wet feet from the backyard pool. The steel grey granite with a leathered finish has a smooth textured feel and coordinates well with the flooring and other finishes. The tile backsplash was installed in a herring bone pattern adds to this awesome new look. Everything was expertly installed by lead carpenters Steve McHenry and Rick Morro. What a great project with happy homeowners.

Built in 1992, this lakeside home was ready for a full renovation to match its scenic setting and the demands of modern living. The original layout felt dated and inefficient, so the remodel opened the space by replacing a pantry closet with a sleek pantry cabinet and adding a large window above the sink to flood the kitchen with light and views. An oversized closet became a stylish wet bar and butler’s pantry in rich alder, now a walk-through between the dining and living areas. Warm white oak floors, contrasting cabinetry, honed Borghini marble, and soapstone counters complete the sophisticated yet inviting kitchen design. This beautiful 1935 cottage nestled in the forest needed a kitchen update that honored the rest of this quaint home. The homeowners contacted us to complete a period remodel, with some craftsman detail inspiration from their friend's home. Their current kitchen was not only inefficient for them, but also reflected a different era not true to the house.

The master bedroom was difficult to heat and cool partly due to old, inefficient windows, so Studio Z designed beautiful new Douglas fir windows, including a new transom, to coordinate with the existing Douglas fir that can be seen throughout the home.

The new sunroom is a nice retreat for reading, chatting, or looking outside, while the ductless Mitsubishi three-head mini-split provides quiet comfort. The floor is COREtec Plus HD in Sherwood Rustic Pine.

This couple approached us to design and renovate their existing master suite on their adorable Broad Ripple area home. Their goals were to update, open up and improve the function of their space. The ceilings were very low and the space was tight with an inefficient master bath and separate closet. We began by removing the ceiling and providing a high cathedral space for an expanded feel in the bedroom. We removed a side door and picture window and installed a sliding glass door to improve the natural lighting of the space and allow access to their landscaped patio on the back of the home. We stole space from the large master bedroom and eliminated the door that led into the closet, to allow for a larger bathroom and walk-in master closet with dressing area. This permitted a larger shower with a bench and the addition of a make-up vanity area. We also enlarged the window in the bathroom to allow more natural light into the space. The final design element was a floating step outside the sliding door onto their patio which is clean, modern and enhances the entrance to their serene master suite from the exterior.
