Game On is a lower level entertainment space designed for a large family. We focused on casual comfort with an injection of spunk for a lounge-like environment filled with fun and function. Architectural interest was added with our custom feature wall of herringbone wood paneling, wrapped beams and navy grasscloth lined bookshelves flanking an Ann Sacks marble mosaic fireplace surround. Blues and greens were contrasted with stark black and white. A touch of modern conversation, dining, game playing, and media lounge zones allow for a crowd to mingle with ease. With a walk out covered terrace, full kitchen, and blackout drapery for movie night, why leave home?

Short on space, our clients turned to us to add a sense joyful play to their otherwise standard New York City apartment interior design with hints of eclectic style and casual chic nuances. With a restrained hand, out interior designer set about bringing a new life in our clients petite apartment while also introducing easy to maintain, durable surfaces and furnishings as they love to entertain and have a lively St. Bernard. And as they had an extensive book collection and a single three-foot wide closet, the key challenge here was to make the best use of the entire space while injecting it with charming whimsy. After falling in love with our designer’s presentation, our clients went for a complete apartment overhaul and started from scratch. Since the space is small, our designer Anna S. wanted to create an urgent sense of vibrancy without coming off as too heavy handed. So she worked in expressive colors and decorative extras in small doses for subtle impact. Starting the project by changing several of the unit’s light fixtures for brighter, more minimal styles, Anna surveyed the apartment room to room to devise clever storage solutions that are easy on the eye. As they have friends over often, Anna created a warm and inviting living room boasting a slightly feminine take on mid-century modern layered with colorful pillows, patterned rugs, and eclectic art that doesn’t take over the apartment. In the kitchen, she added a strong yet gender neutral burlap wallpaper, floating wooden shelves, and new plumbing fixtures that were more sophisticated than the original, standard ones in place. However, our favorite part of the apartment is the moody, statement-making foyer. Though it was a long and narrow barely used, neglected space, Anna brought in wallpaper from Tempaper that features a matte black background covered with gold bird and floral illustrations, and added a long row of black glass cabinets and several large gold mirrors for an added sense of glamorous drama and an extra amount of storage space to boot.

Micro fibre swivel chairs and a leather ottoman are impervious to spills. A variety of window treatment designs frame the seven windows of this Great Room. A traditional rug establishes the lounge area of the space, and injects a traditional feel to this transitional space.

Only the chicest of modern touches for this detached home in Tornto’s Roncesvalles neighbourhood. Textures like exposed beams and geometric wild tiles give this home cool-kid elevation. The front of the house is reimagined with a fresh, new facade with a reimagined front porch and entrance. Inside, the tiled entry foyer cuts a stylish swath down the hall and up into the back of the powder room. The ground floor opens onto a cozy built-in banquette with a wood ceiling that wraps down one wall, adding warmth and richness to a clean interior. A clean white kitchen with a subtle geometric backsplash is located in the heart of the home, with large windows in the side wall that inject light deep into the middle of the house. Another standout is the custom lasercut screen features a pattern inspired by the kitchen backsplash tile. Through the upstairs corridor, a selection of the original ceiling joists are retained and exposed. A custom made barn door that repurposes scraps of reclaimed wood makes a bold statement on the 2nd floor, enclosing a small den space off the multi-use corridor, and in the basement, a custom built in shelving unit uses rough, reclaimed wood. The rear yard provides a more secluded outdoor space for family gatherings, and the new porch provides a generous urban room for sitting outdoors. A cedar slatted wall provides privacy and a backrest.

With its decorative mouldings and traditional influences throughout the home, this renovation is a classic take on modernism. Approaching the gates to the property, rich red brick surrounds a beautiful traditional white lacquered timber door with lead lite coloured panels on either side. Entering into the home, deep jarrah planked timber floors lead the way through to the kitchen and living areas. The kitchen was small for my client who loved to cook as well as her daughter’s love for baking, needing a re- configure of the space to allow the kitchen to flow and function between the existing kitchen and small meals room. Outdated cabinetry made their home look tired and needed a fresh take on the newly architecturally extended home. Traditional pairings of fresh whites, marbles and glass are delicately detailed within the design, modernising the homes interior. Lacquered chalky slabbed fronts surrounded by marbled benches and splashbacks, the introduction of curves to the isolated hood and island centre piece and depth injected with deep navy to create a monochrome palette. Warmth is then allowed in by brass hardware, reeded glass, a play on texture with tiles and warmly lit surfaces. Now a cook’s kitchen.

The brief for this open plan space was to keep it airy and bright. Clients love colour and this was to be injected around some existing furniture. Storage was needed and Gillmore Space's modern sideboard offered sufficient space alongside a Homary double rounded coffee table to soften the hard lines. Decorquip battery operated double blinds offer a privacy layer without cluttering with fabrics. Trowbridge Galleries organic artwork added the splash of colour incorporating the colours on the clients existing floor standing light. Chrome flows from existing items into new items.

Who said that beige is boring? We think that beige is a new grey! This bathroom is the epitome of understated luxury thanks to its beautiful tiles and high quality fittings. Beige porcelain tiles with delicate veins form a perfect backdrop for elegant Victoria+Albert vessel basin and freestanding bath. Freestanding bath is an ultimate statement piece that brings the bathroom to life and creates an eye-catching focal point. Quarrycast material is soft to touch and has excellent insulating properties providing a comfortable bathing experience. Feature tiles with different texture surface contrast beautifully with an over the counter basin, and German engineered GROHE wall mounted tap completes the look with its sleek shape. The frameless LED backlit mirror not only injects a dose of style into the bathroom but also provides subtle illumination when needed. The Koehler wall hung toilet is cleverly concealed behind the vanity, and its smooth clean lines fit perfectly with the bathroom design. GROHE Rainshower overhead shower is a perfect choice for the high impact bathroom and provides an unbeatable showering experience with its generous 310mm shower head and DreamSpray technology.

Rustic yet refined, this modern country retreat blends old and new in masterful ways, creating a fresh yet timeless experience. The structured, austere exterior gives way to an inviting interior. The palette of subdued greens, sunny yellows, and watery blues draws inspiration from nature. Whether in the upholstery or on the walls, trailing blooms lend a note of softness throughout. The dark teal kitchen receives an injection of light from a thoughtfully-appointed skylight; a dining room with vaulted ceilings and bead board walls add a rustic feel. The wall treatment continues through the main floor to the living room, highlighted by a large and inviting limestone fireplace that gives the relaxed room a note of grandeur. Turquoise subway tiles elevate the laundry room from utilitarian to charming. Flanked by large windows, the home is abound with natural vistas. Antlers, antique framed mirrors and plaid trim accentuates the high ceilings. Hand scraped wood flooring from Schotten & Hansen line the wide corridors and provide the ideal space for lounging.

"Sun-Kissed Sanctuary" reimagines the traditional dining room as a versatile haven, perfect for year-round conversation and creating a lasting first impression. This project catered to the client's desire for a space that seamlessly blends casual elegance with organic elements. The design team employed a calming palette of soft whites and airy blues, setting the stage for a serene escape. Textural harmony was achieved through a layered approach: radial plush linen chairs provided sumptuous comfort, while woven pillows and a shagreen-wrapped coffee table added a touch of rustic charm. A lush fiddle fig leaf plant, strategically placed in the space, injected a dose of life and echoed the organic design theme. Respectful of the existing foundation, we integrated the client's existing rug, a statement chandelier, and a captivating wall thread hanging into the new design. To elevate the space further, we introduced custom elements that instilled a sense of unique character. Hand-crafted wood beams and wall trim, reminiscent of a sun-drenched porch, added warmth and architectural interest. Oyster-hued wallpaper on the foyer ceiling provided a bold textural contrast and a touch of coastal sophistication. The added white trim was accentuated, drawing the eye upwards and creating a sense of verticality. The "Sun-Kissed Sanctuary" transcends the limitations of a traditional front room, offering a versatile space that invites relaxation and connection. This project exemplifies our ability to curate a space that is both elegant and inviting, perfectly reflecting the client's personality and lifestyle.

An established family with two growing children, the Meirs, wanted to design spaces that could give their children more independence within their home. Triforce, in collaboration with C9Design Inc., was commissioned to reimagine and transform their entire home. A significant part of the renovation was the conversion of the attic space above the garage into a stunning independent apartment for their son. This new space was meticulously designed to include a custom three-piece bathroom and a walk-in closet, providing their son with a perfect balance of comfort and autonomy. Meanwhile, their daughter was given a separate bedroom, complete with an ensuite bathroom and a private living area. This gave her a personal space tailored to her needs, fostering her independence while still maintaining the warmth and comfort of home. In addition, a comprehensive basement renovation was undertaken. This included the addition of a stylish wet bar, a custom built-in fireplace wall, a bathroom, an office, and an extra bedroom. The basement became an entertainment hub, perfect for family gatherings and social events. The crowning jewel of the renovation was the transformation of their family room into a spectacular great room with vaulted ceilings, injecting a sense of grandeur and openness into the home. The Meir family were thrilled with the outcome. Their home had been transformed into a magazine-worthy showpiece, but more importantly, it had been thoughtfully redesigned to cater to their evolving family needs, providing a space of comfort, independence, and style.
