The material palette was partly inspired by family trips to Costa Rica. The rich walnut, living green wall, and copious light inject warmth and subtle hints of tropical influence into the home.

The living area exudes a modern elegance, with a quartet of abstract artwork injecting vitality and intrigue into the space. The pieces, each framed in simple black, feature bold brushstrokes and contrasting black and white tones, adding a touch of drama and visual interest. Two sleek task lamps with crisp white shades flank the artwork, casting a warm glow and highlighting the bronze sculpture that rests on the custom console table. The table's clean lines and dark finish complement the lamps and artwork, while the sculpture's fluid curves add a touch of organic warmth. The overall effect is a harmonious blend of modern aesthetics and natural elements, creating a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere.

A tight and overcrowded dining room with dated wallpaper was transformed into a bright, yet cozy living space for a young family. Colorful mid-century modern furnishings co-mingle with historic details to inject youth, eclecticism and personality into what was an underutilized and overly formal feeling space. Overhead recess lighting was added and ceilings were smoothed out to brighten and modernize the dark room. Wood-burning fireplace with original tile hearth, brick surround and classic wood mantle became useable once again, after spending many years hidden in the corner of the dining room. In kitchen beyond, a new large pantry was created, as well as a cheerful powder room hidden behind a pocket door.

Polyurethane bedding is injection molded into a metal frame supported by steel springs and stainless steel legs. Choices of upholstery are natural or artificial leather or any of our other premium fabrics. Legs are available in matte or glossy chrome plated or electrostatic powder coated in various colors as per RAL code.

LiLu’s most recent work with these long-time clients was to freshen up significant spaces in their Minneapolis home. Staying true to our original concept of creating a traditional, welcoming, and comfortable retreat, these homeowners have expanded on their love for living and entertaining in a sophisticated, yet casual style. The great room is light and bright, featuring two large sofas that anchor the seating areas on both ends of the room. Original pieces of furniture were covered in neutral fabrics that emphasize texture. Accessories inject color and detail into the space. The dining area invites guests to pull up a reupholstered chair and enjoy long conversations around the custom-designed table. A large area rug stretches across the floor as a natural centerpiece of color and pattern. It’s one of several, including the whimsical take on a tree of life, that are custom-designed for the space. The guest room was updated to be more inviting for returning adult children and their spouses. Previous furnishings were replaced with nightstands and a large, custom bed that more closely complement the sophisticated feel of the rest of the home.

Axis Mundi typically decided not to play by the rules. Instead of de rigeur nautical artifacts, floppy sofas and wicker furniture, the firm responded to Makoid’s all-white interior envelope by injecting rooms with comfortable modern elegance that’s more contemporary Cap Ferrat than Eastern Long Island. Clean furniture silhouettes—from Cassina, Poltrona Frau and B&B Italia—a Massimo Vitali beach scene, a Moooi chandelier and industrial finishes (such as the steel of the fireplace surround and the anodized aluminum of a sleek Bulthaup kitchen) spark a creative tension between indoors and out. The gray palette provides a quiet backdrop for the nature outside, except for the master suite, where custom oak panels and blue shades create a reassuring warmth conducive to sleep.

Cozy guest bedroom with soft blush pink matte wall paint, anchored by a channel-tufted sage green velvet bed dressed with crisp white hotel-style bed linens and neutral square accent pillows. A slim amber glass single pendant lamp hangs beside a slatted wood bedside nightstand styled with reed diffusers, while vibrant African portrait canvas artwork adorns the wall, injecting local Senegalese cultural artistic elements into contemporary bedroom decor.

The mammoth phalanxes of white-brick apartment houses that proliferated in the 1960s occupy an architectural purgatory; generic, with boxy interiors devoid of detail, many aren’t even interesting enough to excite a raised eyebrow. Our solution for this exemplar near Astor Place, which fortunately was blessed with premium skyline views, was to relieve the interior ordinariness by stimulating the senses with tactile variety. Axis Mundi created a complexly layered textural palette that injects visual adrenaline into the architectural envelope: a television set into a waxed steel panel topped by clerestory windows with a built-in planter for grasses; wenge wood walls rising from richly figured walnut floors; white subway tile surrounding a subtly colored penny-tile mosaic tub and wall; in the kitchen, Venetian plaster, steel, stone and wood mix harmoniously as a surprisingly spiced exotic concoction. The interiors exude a confident masculinity that challenges the complacency of bland, white-box living.

This modern kitchen blends sleek lines with warm, inviting elements. The central island, with its dark base and pristine white countertop, is a perfect gathering spot, complete with comfortable wicker bar stools that add a hint of rustic charm. Overhead, a unique sputnik chandelier with golden accents provides a chic, contemporary light source. The kitchen cabinetry is finished in a soft grey, harmonizing with the stainless steel appliances and fixtures that add a touch of industrial flair. Plantation shutters allow for natural light control, while the open layout maintains a connection with the adjoining dining area, making the space ideal for entertaining or family living. Fresh flowers and an array of potted plants inject life and color, softening the modern aesthetic and welcoming nature indoors

The image focuses on the master bedroom, showcasing its unique design elements and inviting ambiance. The room features ceiling grilles in Glacier Frost, which contribute to the clean lines and bright atmosphere of the space. These grilles not only add a touch of elegance but also enhance the distribution of natural light throughout the room, creating a warm and inviting environment.
The master bedroom exhibits a balanced blend of minimalism and personal expression. While the overall design emphasizes clean lines and a serene atmosphere, colorful pops of artwork and textiles inject character and vibrancy into the space. The artwork, strategically placed on the walls, adds visual interest and serves as a focal point, while textiles such as vibrant throw pillows or a patterned rug infuse the room with energy and personality.
Beyond the confines of the bedroom, the view extends to the outside greenery, which adds a refreshing touch to the overall ambiance. The presence of plants and nature's vibrant colors bring a sense of tranquility and harmony, further enhancing the room's appeal as a personal sanctuary.
This master bedroom combines minimalist design principles with personal touches. The Glacier Frost ceiling grilles not only contribute to the room's clean aesthetic but also optimize the natural light. The integration of colorful artwork and textiles adds personality and visual interest, while the presence of outside greenery adds a natural and calming element to the space. This master bedroom is a delightful blend of style and character, providing a comfortable and inviting retreat.

For this project, we used Cedar Impressions' Polymer Shake & Shingle Siding.
This siding is designed to look like wood, with beautifully rich texture and randomly sized boards. It comes in deep, earthy colors, chosen for their complementary natures. Cedar Impressions siding adds elegance to a stately home and warmth to any architecture. It can be used for a whole home or for accenting the primary siding on a home. This siding, however, is more than its aesthetics. It has been engineered for a secure installation, structural stability, secure inter-panel locking, and the capacity to withstand even hurricane force winds. It is made of a thick, injection molded durable polymer.

Sansa Interiors transformed this loft into an oasis focused on witnessing beautiful sunsets. The layout allows for light to come through and disperse, utilizing daylighting. All the finishes used are subtle and soft so that our clients can rest after a long day of work while sharing a sunset moment with others.
It was very important that we pick earthy finishes, and emphasize greenery within the space so that it gives a fresh and warm feel. We injected a dose of fun and personality into this small loft. There are a lot of ways to spruce up a space without over crowding it with decor, our approach was to go for all things simple.
