For this couple, planning to move back to their rambler home in Arlington after living overseas for few years, they were ready to get rid of clutter, clean up their grown-up kids’ boxes, and transform their home into their dream home for their golden years. The old home included a box-like 8 feet x 10 feet kitchen, no family room, three small bedrooms and two back to back small bathrooms. The laundry room was located in a small dark space of the unfinished basement. This home is located in a cul-de-sac, on an uphill lot, of a very secluded neighborhood with lots of new homes just being built around them. The couple consulted an architectural firm in past but never were satisfied with the final plans. They approached Michael Nash Custom Kitchens hoping for fresh ideas. The backyard and side yard are wooded and the existing structure was too close to building restriction lines. We developed design plans and applied for special permits to achieve our client’s goals. The remodel includes a family room, sunroom, breakfast area, home office, large master bedroom suite, large walk-in closet, main level laundry room, lots of windows, front porch, back deck, and most important than all an elevator from lower to upper level given them and their close relative a necessary easier access. The new plan added extra dimensions to this rambler on all four sides. Starting from the front, we excavated to allow a first level entrance, storage, and elevator room. Building just above it, is a 12 feet x 30 feet covered porch with a leading brick staircase. A contemporary cedar rail with horizontal stainless steel cable rail system on both the front porch and the back deck sets off this project from any others in area. A new foyer with double frosted stainless-steel door was added which contains the elevator. The garage door was widened and a solid cedar door was installed to compliment the cedar siding. The left side of this rambler was excavated to allow a storage off the garage and extension of one of the old bedrooms to be converted to a large master bedroom suite, master bathroom suite and walk-in closet. We installed matching brick for a seam-less exterior look. The entire house was furnished with new Italian imported highly custom stainless-steel windows and doors. We removed several brick and block structure walls to put doors and floor to ceiling windows. A full walk in shower with barn style frameless glass doors, double vanities covered with selective stone, floor to ceiling porcelain tile make the master bathroom highly accessible. The other two bedrooms were reconfigured with new closets, wider doorways, new wood floors and wider windows. Just outside of the bedroom, a new laundry room closet was a major upgrade. A second HVAC system was added in the attic for all new areas. The back side of the master bedroom was covered with floor to ceiling windows and a door to step into a new deck covered in trex and cable railing. This addition provides a view to wooded area of the home. By excavating and leveling the backyard, we constructed a two story 15’x 40’ addition that provided the tall ceiling for the family room just adjacent to new deck, a breakfast area a few steps away from the remodeled kitchen. Upscale stainless-steel appliances, floor to ceiling white custom cabinetry and quartz counter top, and fun lighting improved this back section of the house with its increased lighting and available work space. Just below this addition, there is extra space for exercise and storage room. This room has a pair of sliding doors allowing more light inside. The right elevation has a trapezoid shape addition with floor to ceiling windows and space used as a sunroom/in-home office. Wide plank wood floors were installed throughout the main level for continuity. The hall bathroom was gutted and expanded to allow a new soaking tub and large vanity. The basement half bathroom was converted to a full bathroom, new flooring and lighting in the entire basement changed the purpose of the basement for entertainment and spending time with grandkids. Off white and soft tone were used inside and out as the color schemes to make this rambler spacious and illuminated. Final grade and landscaping, by adding a few trees, trimming the old cherry and walnut trees in backyard, saddling the yard, and a new concrete driveway and walkway made this home a unique and charming gem in the neighborhood.

This whole home reno involved creating a kitchen greatroom on the main floor and significantly re configuring the upper floor including making a full master bathroom and converting an extra bedroom into walk in closet. An old family home transformed into a modern home for a great young family home of busy professionals.

Inspiration for a large modern master dark wood floor bathroom remodel in Los Angeles with an undermount tub and brown walls

This Marietta client turned an extra bedroom into her very own walk-in master closet. The before and after transformation is truly breathtaking. The client went with Classic White for the vertical panel and Winter Fun for the drawer and door faces. Within the closet she has an 16-drawer island including 2 drawers equipped with acrylic dividers for jewelry as well as a vanity with a mirror, grommet for wires and puck lighting. All drawer and door faces have brushed chrome hardware. The closet storage on all walls features Shaker Top Mount Crown as the top trim. The closets also highlight some of the clients shoes & purses with 7 framed glass doors.

Bath project was to demo and remove existing tile and tub and convert to a shower, new counter top and replace bath flooring. Vanity Counter Top – MS International Redwood 6”x24” Tile with a top mount copper bowl and Delta Venetian Bronze Faucet. Shower Walls: MS International Redwood 6”x24” Tile in a horizontal offset pattern. Shower Floor: Emser Venetian Round Pebble. Plumbing: Delta in Venetian Bronze. Shower Door: Frameless 3/8” Barn Door Style with Oil Rubbed Bronze fittings. Bathroom Floor: Daltile 18”x18” Fidenza Bianco.

This is another complete remodel. Almost everyone has a home with a bathtub that can be converted, such as this space, "More and more people prefer larger showers to shower-tub combinations. This layout is a very common builder layout, too." We just luxed it up by adding a curbless shower, this means the shower floor is level with the main floor in the bathroom, no step up to get in. We also installed a liner drain! The client wanted modern and white. The tile design in the shower is stainless steel pebble tile on the wall cut in on a curve, along with a white glossy tile that has a metal reveal running horizontal. The same tile is contentious throughout bathroom. We tiled all the walls in the bathroom from floor to ceiling. Note the linear drain too.

Our challenge was to convert an open bathroom directly connected to the bedroom, into a separate functional yet classic oasis. To create this ultra-glam space, we started with recycled iridescent glass accent tiles as the center-piece and large metallic porcelain floor tiles with harmonizing hues all around. To create visual interest and added flair, the glam accent tiles were vertically installed behind the vanity and continue into the shower. Plenty of cabinets with clean modern lines were added for storage and organization. High efficiency lighting, clean modern handles and hardware complete the transformation. Xtreme Renovations just completed transforming a 1915 constructed Master Bathroom into a Modern Transformation for our clients in NW Harris County. The Master Bath had seen several updates throughout its 100 year history. When our clients desired to convert their pervious renovation into their dream Master Bath, they contact Xtreme Renovations and our Team of professionals that includes Design, Quality Craftsmanship and meticulous attention to details to deliver the final product and the ‘Wow Factor’ that Xtreme Renovations is known for. The renovation project required removing an existing window, claw tub, extensive plumbing including moving and install new water and drain lines as well as adding an additional propane hot water heater. Many electrical upgrades were included in this renovation as well as extensive drywall work, painting and exterior siding to match the age of this portion of the home. Our Xtreme Team went to work and presented a design concept that met the needs of our clients and delivered a modern and functional Master Bathroom that completed years of renovation on the Country Home. The project included Custom Built Vanity with full extension soft closing drawers and European hinge soft closing doors. A large shower enclosure was built with corner seating, shower niches, shower wand and stylish tile accents to enhance the shower area. Seamless Glass with heavy duty supports were included in the shower enclosure for ensured safety of our client’s young children and to provide piece of mind and total functionality of the family. The toilet was moved to add space due to the smaller size of this 1915 constructed Master Bath. Recessed LED lighting as well as above vanity light sconces on dimmers completed this amazing transformation.
