Foyer - mid-sized contemporary dark wood floor and brown floor foyer idea in Chicago with white walls

The original kitchen was dark and lacked storage space. It was cut off from the rest of the house and needed an update. We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen and bumped the kitchen out in the rear of the house. We created lots of storage, a new island with seating and added windows bringing in much needed natural light. The kitchen is now a hub of activity for the whole family.

This gorgeous master bath and bedroom addition gave the homeowners much needed space from the previous tiny cramped quarters they had. By creating a spa like bathroom retreat, ample closet space and a spacious master bedroom with views to the lush backyard, the homeowners were able to design a space that gave them what combined both needs and wants in one! This home addition was intended to expand the home to provide the space needed for the growing new family. The existing kitchen was gutted, expanded and opened up to a family room and nook area. Custom inset cabinets were our preference; however cost was a significant concern. The owner researched multiple companies and standard product lines to save on her budget. After careful analysis, we discovered that it was just as cost effective to use the local custom cabinet maker we preferred. This allowed for more precise detailing and unique features. The goal of a classical farm house kitchen character updated with modern features was able to be obtained much to the home owner's delight.
A family room was added to this home, opening up to a screen porch that takes advantage of a previously unused side yard. The much needed new rear entry provides the family a space for their laundry room and is now the primary entry point from the detached garage. Great care was taken to ensure that the home’s new detailing could have been built this way originally. The space however needed to have a modern function for a modern family. The homes existing exterior had aluminum siding and trim which concealed original millwork and shingles. When the nondescript materials were removed, it was discovered that the original was in poor condition. Careful attention was taken to replace and/or repair original materials wherever possible around the entire home, in order to create a seamless exterior character.

We gave this charming Bay Area home a refreshing update and small remodel. For the kitchen, the homeowners wanted to swap out their double oven for something smaller and more practical. To cater to such a change, we were able to design and build a brand new kitchen island! Not only did this open up previously used space but also provided much needed counter space and additional cabinets — plus it was a great place to add bold black accent hues! New lighting and a simple marble backsplash tied the entire space together. The living and dining areas also needed a little updating, so we added built-ins, colorful wallpaper and chairs, and a new statement light fixture to tie it all together.

This project was a Guest House for a long time Battle Associates Client. Smaller, smaller, smaller the owners kept saying about the guest cottage right on the water's edge. The result was an intimate, almost diminutive, two bedroom cottage for extended family visitors. White beadboard interiors and natural wood structure keep the house light and airy. The fold-away door to the screen porch allows the space to flow beautifully.

Our clients needed a much larger kitchen to accommodate their growing family and better functionality for their dream culinary haven.
They did not give it a moments notice to contact Cathy and Ed at Renovisions who designed and built a few recent projects and they were delighted with the overall experience. A design of an open floor plan in mind with relocated appliances totally transformed this kitchen space. Space was borrowed from the dining room allowing a much needed work flow and eat-in area for their two small children.
White painted cabinetry that boasts plenty of storage, deep drawers, pull-out trash drawer provided more functional space and the glass mullion doors created an attractive view. The stainless appliances, including a slim Meile hood, along with the stainless steel decorative diamond pattern backsplash reflected a sleek and contemporary style that the clients love for their transitional style home.
Soapstone with white veining countertops compliments the dark wood island with white marble Carrera-look quartz no-maintenance countertops.
The warmth of the hardwood flooring is stunning in contrast to the white painted kitchen cabinets and exudes a comfortable and most welcome feel when you enter the space.
These homeowners now enjoy more natural light from their existing dining room windows and beautiful views of their gardens from their table. This newly remodeled top notch kitchen is a delight for this homeowner’s top notch culinary skills.

This expansive Victorian had tremendous historic charm but hadn’t seen a kitchen renovation since the 1950s. The homeowners wanted to take advantage of their views of the backyard and raised the roof and pushed the kitchen into the back of the house, where expansive windows could allow southern light into the kitchen all day. A warm historic gray/beige was chosen for the cabinetry, which was contrasted with character oak cabinetry on the appliance wall and bar in a modern chevron detail.
