With its unusual octagon shape, this living room renovation was a design challenge to be conquered! Orignially, heavy cherry cabinets lining the walls and an oversized fireplace mantle wrapped in green marble. We re-oriented the living room, removed the wall units and renovated the flooring fireplace and window treatments and created a light and bright pallet for which our homeowners can display their gorgeous custom artwork. The custom limestone fireplace and oversized large pendant in the center of the living room create subtle organic details for the mostly neutral palette. Handmade boucle swivel chairs are set opposite low leather slung loungers and the effect conveys comfort yet sophistication. The high-performance fabric on our custom sofa means afternoon naps and golden retrievers are more than welcome!

The concept behind this painting comes from the beautiful Limelight hydrangeas I used to grow in my Wisconsin garden... I love those flowers! When the temps rise off the charts in Phoenix I think about those cool dewy mornings watching these beauties come back from a long winter's nap.

The room is designed with the palette of a Conch shell in mind. Pale pink silk-look wallpaper lines the walls, while a Florentine inspired watercolor mural adorns the ceiling and backsplash of the custom built bookcases. A French caned daybed centers the room-- a place to relax and take an afternoon nap, while a silk velvet clad chaise is ideal for reading. Books of natural wonders adorn the lacquered oak table in the corner. A vintage mirror coffee table reflects the light. Shagreen end tables add a bit of texture befitting the coastal atmosphere.

By building a room addition sunroom off of her back bedroom, this Lafayette homeowner got the relaxing space she needed to sunbathe, nap, or grow indoor plants. Her cats also benefited from an ideal living place to soak up the sun. The new addition was designed with oversize wood-wrapped windows and a sizable sliding glass door. The same luxury vinyl plank flooring used in the kitchen was also laid in the sunroom for continuity and balance. Custom cat perches were built under the windows to allow for plenty of bird-watching!
