Built in 1997, this home’s original kitchen had great bones, but an impractical appliance and cabinetry layout obstructed the room’s natural flow, necessitating a makeover to improve form and function. A new appliance arrangement, custom cabinetry, and updated finishes resulted in a wow-worthy space that is as functional as it is stylish.

This master bedroom features a wave paneled wall. The bed was custom designed with a tempered glass headboard so that the wave panels would not be obstructed. Custom black out draperies and roman shades are motorized for the ultimate convenience. Soothing taupe and aqua blue ensure a good night sleep. The dense shag carpet provides comfort under foot.

One of the main challenges was the presence of an angled wall along the perimeter, which complicated the process of enlarging the kitchen island without obstructing movement. To overcome this, we modified the cabinetry layout. By straightening the cabinet run so that it terminated directly into the angled wall, we optimized the flow and functionality of the space. This adjustment not only improved circulation but also presented a new design challenge: where to stop the backsplash.
