In this renovation, a spare bedroom was removed to expand the living and dining space. Now tv’s are everywhere. In this formal living room, our clients wanted the tv to be out of sight until the Super Bowl! Our photographer and one of our staff (me ) waded through the swamp of a cypress stand to capture a stunning image. The image was printed on fine vinyl textured to look like canvas and then mounted on bi-folding panels that have 180 degree hinges on each end. When the panels are fully opened to expose the tv, two lovely sections of the photo remain in view. Below the tv is a components cabinet with multiple finishes: wenge, white lacquer, leather handles, black granite. To make a striking distinction between the counter and the base cabinets, we ordered belting leather from a belt manufacturer and applied it with adhesive and nail heads. The coffee table is a tree root that was finished in a silver leaf-type paint to provide, at once, a natural and surreal look.

Kitchen remodeling project where the homeowners decided to update their kitchen to a more transitional look by installing new custom cabinets. They went with a mission door by Bridgewood Advantage Series done in Maple. For the base cabinets they went with a stone color while the upper cabinets and pantry were done in boulder. For the countertops they went with a Quartz 3 cm and the backsplash was done in a glass subway tile. Some additional touches we included were a bookcase on the end of the island for cookbooks and a custom hutch/coffee station. To complete the new look we also installed oversized Harlow Glass knobs on the upper cabinets and Bordeaux Cabinet pulls on lower cabinets.

This Kitchen was carved out of a former Maids Room and Pantry in order to provide an "open-concept" Kitchen/Family Room which opens into a Living/Dining Room. While the spaces are all open to one another, each is defined separately to maintain the pre-war character of the apartment. A daring combination of forms and finishes yielded an exciting contemporary/industrial hybrid. In a converted wedge-shaped factory building, this loft’s quirky shape was celebrated, not disguised. Contrasting flooring demarcates what is, in fact, a literal work triangle. The island’s unusual five-sided shape proudly reiterates the room’s footprint; the three waterfall ends accentuate its one-of-a-kind geometry. Four different materials were chosen to establish a playful dialogue between light, dark, and texture: caramel-stained rift cut oak on open cabinets; matte charcoal gray paint on tall and wall cabinets; brushed bronze oil-rubbed wire mesh inserts for bases; and panels in a laminate resembling knotty weathered wood. White quartz countertops provide a unifying feature. Open cabinets are singular for their asymmetrical placement and, in some spots, open-ended configuration within the tall units. The breathtaking dining table was fashioned from two free-form live edge planks, joined by a ribbon of clear epoxy resin, thus creating the illusion of a stream meandering through fallen trees. Black elements contribute an industrial edge: an open-framed metal wall shelf over the sink; iron table legs; a mix of dining chairs in mid-century wire mesh, molded plastic, and retro aluminum; and machinery castors on the low-slung coffee table. Wipeable leather seating surrounds a very large extension table in a family-friendly dining room. Built-in storage was added to both sides of the dining room and painted wall color to maintain light and flow from the open living room. The HVAC system is buried in the base of this particular cabinet. Cesar-stone was used at the built-in counter tops for ease when serving buffet-style and the LED under-cabinet lighting is on a dimmer to set the ambiance. Traditional home in the heart of Savannah's Historic Landmark District that was built in 1999 had an 8' by 11' kitchen completely cut off from the rest of the house. We pushed out the back of the house three feet to create a bay to hold a sink, allowing us to completely open up the floorplan. The island color was based on the clients favorite shade of red (it also matches the front door). The rest of the palette is kept light and soft with a play of materials like the original pine floors, grass cloth wallpaper, Walker Zanger backsplash tile, and Viaterra Quartz 'marble' counters. GENEVA CABINET COMPANY, LLC., Lake Geneva, WI., -What better way to reflect your lake location than with a splash of blue. This kitchen pairs the bold Naval finish from Shiloh Cabinetry with a bright rim of Polar White Upper cabinets. All is balanced with the warmth of their Maple Gunstock finish on the wine/beverage bar and the subtle texture of Shiplap walls.

Bilotta Senior Designer, Thomas Vecchio, and Patrick J. Hamilton of Patrick James Hamilton Designs, partnered on this Manhattan upper east side kitchen renovation. This nondescript ‘60’s co-op and galley kitchen were reimagined into a pre-war era gem by adding architectural details: paneling, coffers, and moldings. Widening the opening created an open vista. Upper panes of glass on the Bilotta Collection wall cabinets echo the apartment’s transoms and unite the two sections that are interrupted by the paneled structural column. To compensate for the shorter wall, storage is optimized with plentiful pullouts, dividers, and specialized organizers. The “dead end” under the window was eliminated by continuing cabinetry and countertop materials around the room. Countertop wall cabinets create a hutch in full view of the dining room. With dark gray paint, corner posts and furniture base molding, the peninsula reads like an island and bridges the two areas. Quartz countertops sport “lightning bolt” veins for pattern. Sophisticated on- trend brushed brass was employed on the cabinet pulls and knobs, faucet, sconces, and pendants. A gamechanger was extending the footprint of the kitchen into the hallway with two tall cabinets. One is allocated for cleaning supplies, bulk items, recycling, and the vacuum. The other conceals a built-in wine rack; glassware and bar items; a docking drawer for charging devices; and a Penda-flex rack for files. An absolutely stunning metamorphosis.
