2013 NARI Capital CotY, Merit Award Winner, Creative Solutions under $15,000 Objective: This couple was tired of the old brick look of their family room and its embedded fireplace. They wanted to uplift the entire room, with better lighting, updated built ins and new gas log fireplace. Challenges: It was not an easy task to get rid of all masonry and brick wall. Gas lines and powder line were quite distance away and the family room floor was a concrete slab. Design solutions: It was important for the couple to create an optional separation between the family room and the kitchen for times that she is having her book club gang over and husband wanted to watch his sporting events. Part of the wall between kitchen and family room was taken by a closet. We have removed that entire wall and implemented a 6” wide Barn door for a partial solution to their problem. New wiring for light and cable wires were running into the old masonry wall. Gas line gave the old wood burning fireplace and new life. Custom built in cabinetry was placed in place old masonry wall. A new stone hearth and surround wrapped around the new fireplace. New hardwood wide plank flooring gave this family room warmth. New recess lighting has offered a much brighter room. Outcome: He gets to enjoy his favorite football team beat up the rebels while she gets to have her tea party around the kitchen table. And in all other occasions they get to cuddle by the flames of a new fireplace.

This home was considered the eyesore of the neighborhood. Once the home was purchased by our company, the neighbors were excited about the transformation and couldn't wait to see the outcome and the advantage to the beautiful neighborhood once the home was renovated and revitalized to elevate the standing of the neighborhood. Walls were moved, fireplace was replaced, the front facade was made modern and the transformation was incredible. The open feel of the kitchen and living room was further enhanced as the fire pit and concrete area in the back yard all flowed perfectly to create that California desired all year round indoor/ outdoor living. Everything in the home was made anew with eclectic and contemporary touches to bring the home up to date and create a standard for the neighborhood prices. This home set a standard for the highest price per sq ft sold in the area!

A special LEICHT Westchester | Greenwich project. Located in Chappaqua, Westchester County, NY. this beautiful project was done in two phases, guest house first and then the main house. In the main house, we did the kitchen and butler pantry, living area and bar, laundry room; master bathroom and master closet, three bathrooms. In the guest house, we did the kitchen and bar; laundry; guest bath and master bath. All LEICHT. Carmichael Ave: Custom Modern Home Build We’re excited to finally share pictures of one of our favourite customer’s project. The Rahimi brothers came into our showroom and consulted with Jodi for their custom home build. At Castle Kitchens, we are able to help all customers including builders with meeting their budget and providing them with great designs for their end customer. We worked closely with the builder duo by looking after their project from design to installation. The final outcome was a design that ensured the best layout, balance, proportion, symmetry, designed to suit the style of the property. Our kitchen design team was a great resource for our customers with regard to mechanical and electrical input, colours, appliance selection, accessory suggestions, etc. We provide overall design services! The project features walnut accents all throughout the house that help add warmth into a modern space allowing it be welcoming. Castle Kitchens was ultimately able to provide great design at great value to allow for a great return on the builders project. This was a difficult installation to be sure. The wainscoting goes up two stories and then the art had to be hung above that while being on a ladder on the stairs!! Had my eyes closed the whole time I was so nervous!! The photography had to be measured out beforehand and it took laying it out on my dining room floor the size of that wall before I ordered the pieces! I love the look and always are looking for something different to do to set these stairways apart. My crew didn't love me, but they loved the outcome and were troupers to do it at 7 pm at night after a 10 hour day!!

This exterior renovation aimed to revitalize a charming 1960s Southern colonial-style brick home while preserving its timeless appeal. Revolve updated the home’s curved features, such as the classical columns and rounded bay windows, to achieve this beautiful transformation. The removal of shutters and the enlargement of existing windows with modern frames and thermal glass enhanced the home’s visual appeal, increased interior natural light, and improved energy efficiency, contributing to the overall well-being of the homeowners. Gone are the days of painted-shut windows; the new windows now open smoothly, bringing a refreshing change! In keeping with the original design of the house, Revolve maintained the existing second-floor porch along the front, eliminating the picket railing and traditional molding. These elements were replaced with square columns and a minimalist custom horizontal metal railing system. Additionally, the team thoughtfully enhanced the continuous masonry façade by removing sections of brick and replacing them with a contemporary wood rainscreen. This adjustment added depth to what was previously a flat elevation and tied together areas of the house that were re-clad from vinyl siding to wood plank. The design team also redefined the geometry of the multiple rooflines and third-floor dormers to create a cohesive overall design. Carefully selected paint and stain colors added warmth and dimension to the updated exterior. Modern elements were introduced into the outdoor space, resulting in a cozy outdoor living area complete with a gas-powered fireplace and a large-screen TV—perfect for enjoying Ravens games with friends and family.

In the extensive Northridge project, we executed a complete gutting of the house, initiating a fresh start for a transformative outcome. By removing support walls and adding 650 square feet of living space for the living room and master bedroom, we successfully opened up the floor plan and enhanced the overall functionality. The meticulous reframing of the entire house allowed for the creation of a stunning vaulted ceiling, while the installation of brand new tile floors throughout the whole house and custom-made kitchen cabinets elevated the interior aesthetics. Additionally, we enhanced the curb appeal with the installation of new fiberglass windows, a preambled pavers driveway, and a captivating redwood feature at the front entrance, achieving a modern and inviting look for the property.

2011 NARI CAPITAL COTY MERIT AWARD WINNER This couple lived in their colonial home in Burke, Virginia, for more than 20 years. Now that their children were grown and gone, it was time for them to pay more attention to their home. First on their list was to renovate their master bathroom. Tight and dysfunctional is how they described the existing space. The homeowners always dreamed of having a whirlpool, a large steam shower and a private toilet area. Importantly, they wanted to use the latest products and materials to bring the bathroom into the 21st Century. Starting with exotic granite and porcelain tile from floor to ceiling, the new design does just that. Then, a highly sophisticated steam shower using granite benches, a heavy glass enclosure, chrome faucets and a rain shower head was installed. Modern body spray heads are embedded in the wall tiles. The shower is complemented by a bubble, jetted whirlpool tub with granite surrounds. A modern double vanity with vessel sinks, a granite countertop, high end cabinets and stylish faucets rest along one wall. Our wonderful clients who are native to New Jersey purchased a new-build townhouse in Charlotte, North Carolina and asked us to turn it into a warm and welcoming home. We accomplished this by starting with an overall neutral palette and incorporating texture to every room along with dark elements which added depth throughout. Fun wallpaper and original artwork created by a local Charlotte artist were also focal points of the home which enhanced it's personality even more. Our most challenging space was the narrow outdoor area, which started out as a screened in porch with a fireplace. We were able to transform the space into a beautiful and function lounge and dining area which is used to entertain friends and family constantly. We couldn't be happier that our client was thrilled with the outcome!
