For this seaside patio, creating maximum usable space in a small front yard was the main goal. Equipped with an outdoor kitchen and a large fireplace, this space is a perfect compliment to the recently renovated ultra-modern house.

The doors open for easy removal so the cans can be rolled to the curb on collection day. The cans are only steps away from the kitchen but are completely hidden from sight in the garden.

A former summer camp, this site came with a unique set of challenges. An existing 1200 square foot cabin was perched on the shore of Thorndike Pond, well within the current required setbacks. Three additional outbuildings were part of the property, each of them small and non-conforming. By limiting reconstruction to the existing footprints we were able to gain planning consent to rebuild each structure. A full second story added much needed space to the main house. Two of the outbuildings have been rebuilt to accommodate guests, maintaining the spirit of the original camp. Black stained exteriors help the buildings blend into the landscape. This outdoor space needed a kitchen for each pavilion - one to cook with and another for drinks and entertainment. The powder painted stainless steel outdoor cabinets feature a bar tender, sink, beverage refrigerator, pull out garbage and pull-out trays. The homeowner had an existing structure they wanted replaced. This new one has a custom built wood burning fireplace with an outdoor kitchen and is a great area for entertaining. The flooring is a travertine tile in a Versailles pattern over a concrete patio. The outdoor kitchen has an L-shaped counter with plenty of space for prepping and serving meals as well as space for dining. The fascia is stone and the countertops are granite. The wood-burning fireplace is constructed of the same stone and has a ledgestone hearth and cedar mantle. What a perfect place to cozy up and enjoy a cool evening outside. The structure has cedar columns and beams. The vaulted ceiling is stained tongue and groove and really gives the space a very open feel.
