Full-height mirrors expand the spatial perception, while tailored zones accommodate a range of activities from yoga and cardio to strength training. The space features a suspended punching bag, smart treadmill, spin bike, and a dedicated area for mat workouts. Custom storage seamlessly integrates kettlebells, medicine balls, towels, and accessories. The lighting concept enhances both mood and usability. Adjustable blinds allow soft daylight to filter in, while recessed linear LEDs in the ceiling introduce a warm and inviting ambiance. This project is a testament to HENNE Creative’s approach to blending modern elegance with functional living bringing a professional training experience into the heart of the home.

You might think that a 600sf apartment would feel cramped but this space proves that good design can alter perception. I made this space appear larger by using a coordinated palette and repeating materials like the pre-finished Oak floors and custom walnut cabinetry at windows and kitchen. The window cabinets hold a surprising amount of storage, hide the HVAC unit, and highlight expansive Southern-facing views. It also has a huge amount of closet space thanks to 5 closets including a new walk-in. Yet, the living space is large enough for a comfortable seating arrangement and dining for four. A new door-less partition provides an informal bedroom area as well as the perfect place to hang wall-mounted flat-screen tvs on both sides. Original artwork, a redesigned bathroom enlarged by annexing a hallway, and beautiful furnishings (new & vintage) help to create a comfortable, spacious home for a favorite client.

Drawers are abundant in this kitchen, offering super functional storage for cookware, bake-ware, and dinnerware alike. The island provides a durable quartz work surface that serves both the cooking and clean up zones in addition to seating up to 4 people on the opposite end. Tall cabinets offer remote storage and the console serves as a great coffee and dessert bar when entertaining guests. The Sonoma Tantrum 1 x 2" arch MoSuprema glass tile back-splash adds color, texture and depth.

Kitchen and living room design and remodel We dropped portions of the ceiling strategically around the main floor, which allowed us to insert white reflective stretched ceiling panels in the formed cavities. This immediately made a huge difference in perception of the space, making the low ceilings appear higher. Not only the ceiling looked much taller, but the amount of light in the room significantly increased because of the light reflective ceiling material.

The owners were downsizing from a large ornate property down the street and were seeking a number of goals. Single story living, modern and open floor plan, comfortable working kitchen, spaces to house their collection of artwork, low maintenance and a strong connection between the interior and the landscape. Working with a long narrow lot adjacent to conservation land, the main living space (16 foot ceiling height at its peak) opens with folding glass doors to a large screen porch that looks out on a courtyard and the adjacent wooded landscape. This gives the home the perception that it is on a much larger lot and provides a great deal of privacy. The transition from the entry to the core of the home provides a natural gallery in which to display artwork and sculpture. Artificial light almost never needs to be turned on during daytime hours and the substantial peaked roof over the main living space is oriented to allow for solar panels not visible from the street or yard.

Located in Surrey Hills, this Grade II Listed cottage design was inspired by its heritage, special architectural and historic interest. Our perception was to surround this place with honest and solid materials, soft and natural fabrics, handmade items and family treasures to bring the values and needs of this family at the center of their home. We paid attention to what really matters and brought them together in a slower way of living. By separating the silent parts of this house from the vibrant ones, we gave individuality; this created different levels for use. We left open space to give room to life, change and creativity. We left things visible to touch those that matter. We gave a narrative sense of life.
