A momentous occasion in the history of LEICHT - the day the decision was made to build a new training and showroom centre in Waldstetten. A decision which represented an investment of around six million euros. This not only set the course for the successful further development of the company and brand; it was also the first step on the road to a new LEICHT| WORLD. A world in which the values the LEICHT brand represents are already perceptible from the outside: modernity, timeless architecture, openness and elegance. The LEICHT | WORLD, a centre of communication and exchange with German and international customers, with architects and planners from all over the world. And not least also an attraction for end customers interested in kitchens as the showroom opens its doors to them three or four times a year as a veritable source of inspiratio

The owners were downsizing from a large ornate property down the street and were seeking a number of goals. Single story living, modern and open floor plan, comfortable working kitchen, spaces to house their collection of artwork, low maintenance and a strong connection between the interior and the landscape. Working with a long narrow lot adjacent to conservation land, the main living space (16 foot ceiling height at its peak) opens with folding glass doors to a large screen porch that looks out on a courtyard and the adjacent wooded landscape. This gives the home the perception that it is on a much larger lot and provides a great deal of privacy. The transition from the entry to the core of the home provides a natural gallery in which to display artwork and sculpture. Artificial light almost never needs to be turned on during daytime hours and the substantial peaked roof over the main living space is oriented to allow for solar panels not visible from the street or yard.

And as his discovery at a time shocked the world and became a first step for a new era of discoveries and world evolution, we believe that the new Electric collection, creation of which is based on a solid theory of photon spectrum and physical characteristics of 4 speeds of rays which travel between Gamma as form of nuclear and cosmic radiation to infrared rays, a result of movement of lower-energy photons, will become a breakthrough of contemporary interior design. This collection reflects a principally new approach to perception of rug in interior making it an art object at the first place. The world has gone through a very hard time during last 2 years and perception of things, behavior, philosophic approach of people has changed drastically. We all need a recharge of energy and inspiration to restart our live paths in a new reality and there is no better place where we get energetic feed as home and family. The client wanted the impact from the entrance door to be striking with no hanging clothing visible from that view. A collection of decorative scarves was to be displayed and visible from the doorway. The visual impact from the entrance doorway was accomplished by extending columns to hide the hanging clothing on both walls adjacent to the door. The focal point became the far wall of full height cabinets that included the scarves displayed in clear acrylic front pull out trays. A beveled edge mirror in the door of one cabinet also helped create an additional perception of depth to the room..

The goal of this renovation was to create balance without mirror symmetry. Designing with the Golden Rectangle based on the Fibonacci numbers, where the width is 62% of its height is the pleasing proportion that all objects in the universe, including the DNA module, are based. The cabinets or their combinations in this composition are either golden rectangles or squares. Their specific size and placement creates the focal point above the open shelf which is confirmed by the crossing of the diagonal lines. Based on our perception and use of the golden proportion, the sink backsplash is 7” of granite, 11” painted. Similarly, the same dimensions as a stair riser and tread. In a high ceiling making only one cabinet taller and deeper alludes to the space without being overwhelming. Form is in the cherry cabinets and granite counter tops. Function includes the dog bowl.

Light wood grain soft-close drawer base is matched with dark open storage shelf for towel and toiletries display, topped with continuous natural white marble countertop fitted with two vessel basins and concealed wall-mounted faucets. Upper segmented large mirror with side circular LED accent lights expands spatial perception, wall layered with travertine stone and speckled terrazzo decorative panel, dividing toilet zone on side. The patterns on the three lasercut acrylic shades have been carefully staggered with the aim of eliminating unpleasant glare from the light source. The patterns differ between the shades, resulting in different perceptions of light and shadow depending on the viewing angle. Finish: White matte, rose matte, blue/grey matte and dark green. In this contemporary modern living room, a spiral mirror wall composition transforms the plain white wall into a piece of art.
