HouseHomeBuilt in 1896, the original site of the Baldwin Piano warehouse was transformed into several turn-of-the-century residential spaces in the heart of Downtown Denver. The building is the last remaining structure in Downtown Denver with a cast-iron facade. HouseHome was invited to take on a poorly designed loft and transform it into a luxury Airbnb rental. Since this building has such a dense history, it was our mission to bring the focus back onto the unique features, such as the original brick, large windows, and unique architecture.
Our client wanted the space to be transformed into a luxury, unique Airbnb for world travelers and tourists hoping to experience the history and art of the Denver scene. We went with a modern, clean-lined design with warm brick, moody black tones, and pops of green and white, all tied together with metal accents. The high-contrast black ceiling is the wow factor in this design, pushing the envelope to create a completely unique space. Other added elements in this loft are the modern, high-gloss kitchen cabinetry, the concrete tile backsplash, and the unique multi-use space in the Living Room. Truly a dream rental that perfectly encapsulates the trendy, historical personality of the Denver area.

Wellborn cabinets on the perimeter paired with Walker Woodworking custom island and hood, create this amazing kitchen remodel which happens to be an above garage apartment. Budget was a huge factor in this remodel, but the homeowner also did not want to sacrifice beauty and function. Mixing cabinet choices was the perfect solution for this remodel.

Rural BirchTo continue with the spa-like atmosphere, a stand-alone tub was installed where a jacuzzi tub once was. Large scale ceramic tiles were installed onto the wall next to the tub which sets the tone perfectly as well as creates the "wow-factor" of this bathroom. We continued with white and barely-there minty seafoam color throughout this bathroom with touches of various blues throughout the space. Originally there was a large old Hollywood-style vanity mirror, surrounded by exposed bulbs. That was all taken out and a new frameless mirror was installed. The closet originally took up the entire left wall with sliding doors. Our client needed space for an owner's closet since this will also be used as a vacation rental. The closet was split in half, creating two closets. One is available for guests, and one is available as an owner's closet.

A couple was desperately seeking a creative “wow” factor for their master bedroom. This bedroom was lacking in function and overall beauty. Taking inspirations from art, fashion, ethnic patterns, and mixing in a few tailored elements make this a room with more than just a view. Mixing metals and mirrors add sparkle. Addressing light control with custom window treatments that soften and frame the room while adding a luxe layer to the high drama of the metallic faux painted walls that serve as the eye-catching backdrop. The perfect shade of persimmon selected as the accents to this lovely mauve, champagne, and white color scheme for a more edgy take on the overall project for client’s who wanted out of the beige box.
S.Flynn Design + BuildBecause basements are prone to moisture, we opted for luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring instead of hardwood. This mid-tone plank is one of my favorites, and I love the character it brings to the basement. To ensure the living room setting looked cohesive with the rest of the space, we paired the flooring with a deeper wood tone, which we placed around the fireplace, bar, and serving area. We reinforced the sultry, sophisticated deep brown color on the leather armchairs and coffee table.
Our clients desperately wanted a fireplace in the living room, so we amped up the cozy factor by installing a panorama fireplace with a sophisticated black brick tile front. We loved the bold veining on the quartz bar island so much that we carried it over to the fireplace surround. It was definitely a bold option, but it was perfectly balanced against the deep black.

MTK Design GroupTrophy Club Rustic Glam, to us, concerned achieving the modern look they wanted for their home that was traditional in nature with heavy rustic features. With a few pieces already in place including a contemporary curved sofa and metallic silver breakfast nook table, we used that starting point to begin interjecting the right amount of modern touches that would balance the rustic and reach the wow factor end result desired. One important change was updating the light fixtures with bold statements that transition the new look throughout. Luxurious window treatments also aided in calming down the rustic woods. We especially enjoyed a unique room project; The bonus wine room attached to the Kitchen was always a challenge for the homeowners to find the right functionality. The new high top bar and low profile stools, along with a customized wine barrel-top table and "corkscrew" bar stools made for the perfect layout to entertain. Metallic wallpaper on the walls and zebra-print on the ceiling contrasted against the thick stone. These features as well as the custom wine racks and grapevine-esque crystal light fixture created a cozy and exciting place to lounge in their very own wine country. We just loved the end result and the homeowners couldn't believe the big reveal transformation.
