This modern farmhouse kitchen is in a former 1820s stable converted into a home. Natural cherry and soft green painted cabinet finishes paired with Zellige tile accents and beamed ceilings reflect the vintage character of the old barn and compliment the open plan of the space. The Sub-Zero refrigerator is hidden in plain sight while the 48” Wolf range and steam oven are positioned perfectly, allowing this family to stay together while cooking, socializing and eating.
By moving the cramped kitchen to the opposite side of the home, this Morris County New Jersey kitchen and bath remodeler was able to take advantage of a much larger and underutilized space while also improving the overall flow in the remainder of the home.

Here you can see the custom made room divider between the full size bunks and queen bunks, creating two guest rooms, each with their own entry, out of one. The room divider is made out of alder, as are the built in bunk beds. The dual sliding barn doors are made from reclaimed wood, made in a patchwork pattern by local artist, Rob Payne. This Mediterranean Style home features beautiful Natural Stone elements. The Macedonia Limestone grand entryway with entablature is detailed with two pilasters flanking an arched opening topped with a decorative hand carved detail across the top. It is twelve feet in height, nine feet wide, with a depth of two feet of natural stone encasing the arched entry leading into the main hallway of the home. The façade is topped with crown molding at the eave. The first and second story French doors are flanked with Macedonia Limestone molding with keys. The central arched window above the entablature of the front door entry is also flanked with Macedonia Limestone molding and a key at the center of the arch. There is a belt course wrapping around the top of the first story in line with the detailing of the Grand Entry Front Door.
