Our clients work tirelessly each day managing professional and amateur jumper horses at CMJ Sporthorse. They deserve a sanctuary to return to—one filled with comfort and relaxation. With that in mind, we designed a home that offers just that. Upon entering from the garage, you’re welcomed by a beautifully crafted mudroom, featuring ample storage and a built-in bench for unloading after a long day. As you continue down the hallway, you’ll find a cozy bedroom, where a stone feature wall brings the serenity of nature indoors. In the primary bathroom, a soaking tub offers a perfect spot to unwind, with peaceful views of sprawling farmland, or a quick shower for convenience. The home is also a space for entertaining family and friends, and we believe the kitchen is the heart of it all. With an open-concept layout, the kitchen flows seamlessly into the living room, creating the perfect space for gathering. Guests are greeted at the entry with mosaic tile flooring, elegant wallpaper, striking light fixtures, and plenty of storage. We tailored this major kitchen update to meet the needs of our client for whom regularly gathering her adult children and their families for home cooked meals is a tradition hailing from her southern heritage. The Wolf range, Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer, commercial grade range hood and strategically placed prep sink were designed to support her love of cooking and large scale meal preparation. By replacing a smaller island and peninsula with an expansive sixteen foot island we greatly increased both the storage and the seating capacity, providing plenty of space for family and friends to comfortably gather in this true heart of the home. Other must haves like the built in coffee maker, dedicated wine refrigerators and bar area, and a built in buffet niche for storing several dish collections make this a modern kitchen with traditional roots that is ideal for entertaining and relaxing.

An absolute residential fantasy. This custom modern Blue Heron home with a diligent vision- completely curated FF&E inspired by water, organic materials, plenty of textures, and nods to Chanel couture tweeds and craftsmanship. The Problem- We undertook this Transitional Kitchen Remodel with Prescott homeowners who were looking for an open floor plan. Most importantly they wanted to tie the kitchen and living room together. As a result, creating one open concept transitional entertaining space. Additionally, this homeowner was a professional cook and needed an expansive workplace to cook with plenty of space for prep. The Solution- First, we tore down floor to ceiling dividing walls that separated the kitchen from the living room. Then we got rid of a soffit that trapped the entire kitchen which made it feel tight and cramped. Next, we expanded the kitchen using Maple Grey Mist Cabinets from Wellborn. Adding an eat-in island with accent Gauntlet Maple Cabinets makes this kitchen suitable for entertaining guests while keeping with the transitional kitchen design. Finally, we kept the flow from the kitchen into the living room seamless with luxury vinyl plank flooring.

This beautiful, luxury bathroom remodel features Schrock brand cabinetry in the greystone color. It also features a large shower with stone tile, a barn door with frosted glass, a crystal chandelier, quartz countertops, and a make-up area. There is also plenty of storage space due to the large storage cabinet and linen closet. The professionals at The Cabinet Cove and CMB Construction transformed this bathroom from tired, boring, and outdated to opulent, sophisticated, and modern.

This master bathroom is a part of a whole house renovation we tackled starting in 2016, slowly and intentionally recreating each space in the house so that each room could be an updated, lovely space that FELT LIKE HOME to my clients. In the master bath, we reconfigured the existing footprint of the bathroom, eliminating the large tub they no longer wanted, and relocating the door to the bedroom to allow space for a double vanity in the layout (a must for this professional couple on busy mornings), and so that a larger shower could be incorporated. Also included in the design is a built-in window seat with drawers, and a linen closet, providing plenty of additional storage. The finishing touches combine the classic materials such as marble counters and the color combination of blue and white, paired with modern details, such as the herringbone wood-like tile, to give an eclectic, timeless feel to the room.

This master bedroom and attached bath was in need of a makeover. So often, the master is the last space that homeowners update. My clients wanted a restful space that was elegant and relaxing, with a warm and neutral color palette. An shimmery wallpaper was used as a feature on one wall, with the luxurious bed making a statement. Two different nightstands flank the bed, and a vintage mirror leans quietly in the corner. The linen headboard is surrounded in distressed wood, and the chandelier is understated elegance. There is now also plenty of storage in the room, where there had been none. Durango brick pattern backsplash with Arizona tile Soho Suede stacked glass tile inset liner and stove accent. Kitchen centers the dining room which opens into family game area (with office behind) and family TV room for movie nights. Wine bar off to the left. French doors access the pool area and large windows let in plenty of natural light throughout.

This kitchen was part of a whole house remodel and, as such, it required a complete reimagining of the space. Given the new layout of the rather upscale home, the kitchen would be relatively open to other areas and could not sacrifice elegance for the purpose of functionality. Meanwhile, high functionality was a major requirement as the client was a cook who required professional appliances, wide countertop work areas and plenty of storage space. At $85,000, the kitchen fell well within the client’s budget while meeting her expectations.

This San Diego backyard was designed to feel like a private resort, perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and spending time outdoors year-round. At the heart of the space is a sleek custom pool and raised spa, finished with glass tile and surrounded by large-format porcelain decking. A raised stone wall with spillway water features adds movement and creates a beautiful focal point from throughout the yard. The standout feature is the covered outdoor kitchen and bar pavilion, designed as a true outdoor living room. The structure includes exposed beams, integrated lighting, ceiling fans, and heaters for year-round comfort. A large quartz bar island provides seating for guests, while the kitchen includes a professional grill, refrigeration, and plenty of prep space. Behind the bar, a decorative tile feature wall with floating shelves and a large outdoor TV creates the perfect setting for game days or evening gatherings. Chris and Sofia of Arlington Heights knew when they purchased their home that they would finish the basement. They needed a space for the kids to hang out, for family and friends to stay, and to have a better space for hosting holidays and parties. The dark unfinished space went mostly unused for three years, but once their kids reached the ideal age for use of a well-built basement, they moved ahead with their plan. “The old basement was dark and cold, and the kids came down and played, but they didn’t like it. The new space is like a whole other house, so we have this space for family game nights and for watching games or Super Bowl parties,” Chris said. The couple found Advance Design Studio through a friend who had their entire home renovated by the remodeling company. After the initial meeting and visiting the showroom, Chris and Sofia were positive that Advance Design was the company that could best turn their unfinished basement into a family friendly space for everyone to enjoy. “We really liked the showroom, we liked being able to choose all of those finishes and meet with them in one place,” Chris said. A Custom Space for a Family with Multiple Needs The project began with a fireplace focal point complete with an amazing entertainment wall, a fantastic full kitchen complete with every amenity, and a brand new full bath. The new basement truly has a space for everyone. If the kids want to watch a movie and hang out on the couch they can, if family wants to play games and have a pizza party on the large island they can, and if guests want to stay over night on the pull-out sofa they can enjoy the entire private “suite” complete with a full bath. It is the true definition of a multifunctional basement. The stunning, full kitchen is the highlight of this now bright and airy basement. You walk down the stairs and are immediately impressed with the detailed metal tile work on the ceiling, bringing to mind the classic feel of a comfortable old pub. Cherry Merlot cabinets provide a rich contrast against the soft neutral walls and the contrasting copper tin ceiling tile and backsplash. Rich Santa Cecelia granite countertops pair nicely with timeless stonework on the outer walls. The island is large enough to provide a more than adequate entertaining space, and provides plenty of both seating and storage. The well-appointed kitchen houses a regular size refrigerator, a full size oven for pizza parties and cookie baking anytime, a microwave oven as well as complete sink and trash set up. One could easily do without a home kitchen forever in this generously designed secondary space! The fireplace and buffet wall seating area is the ideal place to watch movies or sporting events. The coordinating stonework on the fireplace flows throughout the basement, and a burnt orange accent wall brings color and warmth to otherwise ordinary basement space. The Elite Merlot media buffet compliments the kitchen as well as provides storage and a unique functional display option, giving this part of the basement a sophisticated, yet functional feel. The full bath is complete with a unique furniture style cherry DuraSupreme vanity and matching custom designed mirror. The weathered look to the cabinets and mirror give the bathroom some earthy texture as does the stone floor in the walk-in shower. Soft blue makes the space a spa-like mini retreat, and the handsome wall to wall tile and granite speak luxury at every corner. Advance Design added clever custom storage spaces to take advantage of otherwise wasted corners. They built a custom mudroom for the kids to house their sports equipment and a handy built in bench area with basket pull outs for a custom home gym. “They were able to custom fit this second mudroom with the lockers and the bench, they were able to custom build that, so the kids could store all of their equipment down here for the sports that they are in,” Chris said. They Got The Amazing Space They Had Envisioned for Years! The basement Chris and Sofia had envisioned had come to life in a few short months of planning, design and construction, just a perfect fit in the summer months. Advance Design Studio was able to design and build a custom, multifunctional space that the whole family can enjoy. “I would recommend Advance Design because of the showroom, because of the cleanliness on the jobsite and the professionalism, combined with Christine’s design side as well as Todd’s builder’s side - it’s nice to have it all together,” reminisced Chris after the project was complete.

For many, the idea of downsizing can be daunting, especially when moving from a spacious rural home to a compact condo. However, our clients were determined to embrace this change to simplify their lives and indulge in waterfront living. With panoramic views of Lake Nepahwin, they were eager to create a retreat maximizing space without compromising style. To optimize space, we adopted a minimalist approach, focusing on multifunctional furniture and clever storage solutions. By strategically placing furniture and incorporating a pantry, disguised as an built-in armoire in the living room, we were able to make the most of every square inch while maximizing the expanse. “Every inch of real estate is valued,” says Lauren Perry “and that is how downsizing becomes a delight.” The original pantry was excessive for the couple, but the primary bedroom was lacking closet space. Enter demolition. We opened a bathroom wall and converted the existing pantry into a walk-in closet for our client’s impressive wardrobe. Prioritizing the built-ins with plenty of drawers customized this space for our client’s personal needs and showcased her impeccable taste in clothes, shoes, and accessories. Every selection had to be carefully considered so the space is inviting, without feeling congested. The fixtures and decor were curated to layer interest, but not detract from the beautiful views of the condo, a delicate balance best left to the professionals.
