The color palette, textures, and layout of furniture were all designed to welcome people in from outside. Even though the ceiling is tall, the footprint of this room is small so scale of the furniture had to adhere to the size of the footprint. The family room’s built in shelving provides extra storage. The shiplap accent wall creates a focal point around the white Carrera marble surround fireplace. The first floor features 8-in reclaimed white oak flooring (which matches the open shelving in the kitchen!) that ties the main living areas together. First home, savvy art owners, decided to hire RBD to design their recently purchased two story, four bedroom, midcentury Diamond Heights home to merge their new parenthood and love for entertaining lifestyles. Hired two months prior to the arrival of their baby boy, RBD was successful in installing the nursery just in time. The home required little architectural spatial reconfiguration given the previous owner was an architect, allowing RBD to focus mainly on furniture, fixtures and accessories while updating only a few finishes. New paint grade paneling added a needed midcentury texture to the entry, while an existing site for sore eyes radiator, received a new walnut cover creating a built-in mid-century custom headboard for the guest room, perfect for large art and plant decoration. RBD successfully paired furniture and art selections to connect the existing material finishes by keeping fabrics neutral and complimentary to the existing finishes. The backyard, an SF rare oasis, showcases a hanging chair and custom outdoor floor cushions for easy lounging, while a stylish midcentury heated bench allows easy outdoor entertaining in the SF climate. Example of a transitional living room design in Boston

Entering the back yard is like entering an English garden. To ensure a seamless look between the original new parts of the house, we built the covered patio using the same German schist stone and timber framed stucco. Further, the stone’s pointing matches the original historic stone, and we used a gray grout for a weathered, aged look. The space is finished off with spiraled lattice iron works and all slate roof. At the end of the roof is an open truss timber frame in a cathedral design. Copper flashing at the joints protects the wood from water sitting in the spaces and eventually rotting the joints. The patio itself features a flagstone floor, built in gas grill, and the other side of the Rumford fireplace found in the family room. Inspiration for a transitional master gray tile and glass tile porcelain tile bathroom remodel in Seattle with flat-panel cabinets, gray cabinets, a one-piece toilet, white walls, an undermount sink and quartz countertops

Our client had been living in her beautiful lakeside retreat for about 3 years. All around were stunning views of the lake and mountains, but the view from inside was minimal. It felt dark and closed off from the gorgeous waterfront mere feet away. She desired a bigger kitchen, natural light, and a contemporary look. Referred to JRP by a subcontractor our client walked into the showroom one day, took one look at the modern kitchen in our design center, and was inspired! After talking about the frustrations of dark spaces and limitations when entertaining groups of friends, the homeowner and the JRP design team emerged with a new vision. Two walls between the living room and kitchen would be eliminated and structural revisions were needed for a common wall shared a wall with a neighbor. With the wall removals and the addition of multiple slider doors, the main level now has an open layout. Everything in the home went from dark to luminous as sunlight could now bounce off white walls to illuminate both spaces. Our aim was to create a beautiful modern kitchen which fused the necessities of a functional space with the elegant form of the contemporary aesthetic. The kitchen playfully mixes frameless white upper with horizontal grain oak lower cabinets and a fun diagonal white tile backsplash. Gorgeous grey Cambria quartz with white veining meets them both in the middle. The large island with integrated barstool area makes it functional and a great entertaining space. The master bedroom received a mini facelift as well. White never fails to give your bedroom a timeless look. The beautiful, bright marble shower shows what's possible when mixing tile shape, size, and color. The marble mosaic tiles in the shower pan are especially bold paired with black matte plumbing fixtures and gives the shower a striking visual. A kitchen in a beautiful traditional home in Essex Fells NJ received a complete renovation. A stunning stainless steel and brass custom hood is center stage with elegant white cabinetry on either side. A large center island is anchored to the ceiling with the stainless lanterns.

After: The kitchen is now the star of the home! We removed a wall between the kitchen and family room, opening up the space for a more cohesive, airy layout. The new frameless shaker-style cabinetry in a gorgeous white oak was extended by 12 inches up to the ceiling. A new, large farmhouse-style sink with a curved apron in gunmetal black, paired with dark bronze finishes, adds a touch of elegance. A new pot filler at the cooktop uses filtered water for added convenience. The prep sink in the island also received a makeover with a matching gunmetal black basin and fixtures. For an elevated cooking experience, we installed a 36” 6-burner induction cooktop and new appliances throughout, save for two dishwashers in new condition. Additional pantry storage was incorporated into the reimagined "mudroom," and the butler bar was renovated with matching cabinetry for a sleek, updated look. New LED under-cabinet lighting enhances the workspaces and gives the kitchen a polished look. Finally, we updated the dining room with gorgeous LVP flooring, tying it seamlessly to the rest of the main level. The space now feels modern and cohesive, ready for gatherings and special moments.

Envisioning a luxurious bath retreat that echoed the opulence from a high-end hotel they visited was the transformative experience these clients received that excited them to start their own primary bath remodel. A bath that would have function and style at the same time, while centered around a modern monotone design spa concept. Creating a new bath environment that felt timeless while being reflective of their taste, lifestyle, and personality was in the works.
