Our clients relocated to Ann Arbor and struggled to find an open layout home that was fully functional for their family. We worked to create a modern inspired home with convenient features and beautiful finishes.
This 4,500 square foot home includes 6 bedrooms, and 5.5 baths. In addition to that, there is a 2,000 square feet beautifully finished basement. It has a semi-open layout with clean lines to adjacent spaces, and provides optimum entertaining for both adults and kids.
The interior and exterior of the home has a combination of modern and transitional styles with contrasting finishes mixed with warm wood tones and geometric patterns.

If you want a white bathroom, consider a light grey with off white elements. It will give you the same open look and feel but it will add a slight touch of a contemporary flair in it, just enough to keep your master bathroom releveant for long time. A large shower with bench and new Delta shower head system will bring the new technology with comfort . Freestanding tub with a "old fashion telephone" faucet bring that extra feminine touch and completes the look of the perfect traditional master suite bathroom. If you want to create your custom bathroom, call Building Pro today to schedule an appointment with the leading interior designer, Karin, so that you can soon enjoy your perfectly designed and remodeled master bath. Now serving the Kansas City metro area and Johnson county.

A Transformative home design conceptualised to satisfy the homeowner's lifestyle and meet the demands of working from home in endemic setting. With movable partition walls and doors, clear distinction & segregation between private bedroom and home office encourages a work-rest zone where work, guest stay-over or mahjong session with friends and family can take place. Bespoke furniture which can collapsed and stowed away when not in use, frees up the space for more possibilities. A home which is relevant to time and empowers the homeowner.

This one-of-a-kind bedroom was created for the 2018 Junior League of Miami Design Showhouse at the Historic Deering Estate. The home of Charles Deering was built in 1900. He lived there until his death in the mid 1920’s. When approaching this project, I wanted to stay true to the era and energy of the home. I chose a lighter color palette and a Zodiac mural to highlight the low ceiling, which made the room feel cozy and fun. Vintage art pieces and antiques were sourced very carefully so that the room felt authentic, but still relevant for today’s way of living.

This Arthur Rutenberg Homes home also has a large den or office space, which could easily be converted to a fourth bedroom, a spacious guest room and a full second bath. It also features a third bath-in-suite bedroom.

The transformation of 2,100 s.f. of former servant's areas in an existing single-family residence circa 1860. The program consisted of the creation of a loft-like workspace, wet bar, playroom, as well as a guest suite. Existing portions of the original construction were "preserved and celebrated". New areas were designed around an aesthetic that was more relevant to the "here & now". The entire volume of the servant's area was exposed. New access to the existing roof top "Widow's Walk" was created using a new metal staircase, whose form and color scheme is loosely based upon the theories of Piet Mondrian.

This high-rise condominium at The Mayfair longed for the renewal conceptualized in its 3 bathrooms. Each was a complete renovation, adding relevant aesthetic updates and much-needed functionality and storage. We capitalized on the immense amount of natural light in the primary bath and we amplified it throughout the space by opening up walls to the shower, lining the vanity with full-sized, built-in vanity mirrors, and distributing electrified lighting throughout. Custom cabinetry was designed to capture every inch of usable perimeter space and incorporate the elevated tub platform. The guest bath emulates a classic, luxury hotel feel infused with color, a great tile pattern on the focal shower wall, a furniture-style vanity, and a fun floor design. The powder bath is dark and moody with textural wallpaper and an espresso-colored porcelain floor tile emulating marble. All of the appointments throughout exude the luxury look and feel the client desired, are maintenance friendly and will stand the test of time.

After this house flooded, the owners used it as an opportunity to re-imagine & re-invent their almost 30 yr. old kitchen. Kevin and I went to work to get every penny possible for the owners so the money paid out by insurance went a long way towards helping to update their kitchen. Between the owners, the cabinet maker and Kevin and I, we came up with a great plan to expand the kitchen's footprint by pushing into the pantry (which had a lot of wasted space) and using highly efficient built in cabinets so as to allow a new area of useable kitchen space. We put the focus on the cooktop wall and pulled all the colors in the kitchen together with the backsplash.
We used a gorgeous clear glass tile on the perimeter walls and added a waterfall edge to the end of the sink bank of cabinets. The gorgeous understated elegance is classic modern and will be relevant long into the future. The colors used are not trendy and will be easy to live with for many years to come.

Completed several years ago, this kitchen renovation continues to demonstrate the enduring qualities of a well-balanced design. Rather than following short-lived trends, the project focused on proportion, material contrast, and functional clarity — principles that remain visually relevant over time.
The composition pairs clean white perimeter cabinetry with a darker island, creating a grounded visual hierarchy while preserving a bright, open atmosphere. Subtle material transitions and restrained detailing contribute to a cohesive aesthetic that feels both modern and comfortably lived-in.
Integrated lighting and thoughtful storage planning enhance everyday usability without introducing visual clutter. The overall design language emphasizes simplicity, durability, and timelessness, allowing the space to age gracefully despite shifting design fashions.
This project serves as an example of how disciplined design decisions can result in interiors that remain fresh and appropriate years after completion.

Ginger Contemporary Armchair is sophisticated and elaborate, making nods to tradition but busting out of the mold at the same time. Manufactured in Italy by Gamma Arredamenti, Ginger Armchair can be especially relevant in modern eclectic rooms, where a mixture of eras and styles is essential. Featuring a fixed or swivel base, Ginger Armchair has chesterfield-inspired tufting details that denote an inviting and grand style.
