This cabin had a complete makeover! The floors are original just refinished. The cabinets are Kraftmaid cabinets in the Briarwood door style. The countertops are LG Solid Surface in Beechnut. A farm sink and vintage range was installed to complete the Rustic Chic look. The Barn door was made with scrap wood and old fencing material.

Wanting to lay some roots in Sun Valley, Idaho, guided the incorporation of historic hewn, stone and stucco into this cozy home among a stand of aspens with its eye on the skiing and hiking of the surrounding mountains. The Yellowstone Club, America’s most exclusive ski resort, is located in Big Sky, Montana and is a playground for the outdoor enthusiast who enjoys luxury. Centre Sky Architecture renovated the mid-mountain Rainbow Lodge from 5,000 square feet to almost 14,000 square feet. The original lodge had a heavy emphasis on a traditional feel, touting log walls and trusses and boasting the log cabin feel. The color scheme went to grey and beige tones, lightening the interior. The dining room and kitchen were both expanded, a patio, two spas, a copper pool, and a workout facility were also added to the lodge. (photos by Gibeon Photography)

For this bedroom design, forms and finishes were kept simple so as not to clash with the imposing slanted ceiling made in a natural wood finish. The modern rustic aesthetic was kept though the selection of furniture pieces that have natural finishes in them such as the nightstand with weaved door faces and a basket that also serves as a bench made of wicker. Dark wood tones in the lounge chairs and side tables create contrast to the light finishes of the ceiling and carpeted flooring.
