Resort-Style Backyard Oasis: Modern Farmhouse Meets Five-Star Outdoor Living
This extraordinary backyard transformation turns a sprawling wooded property into a private resort that rivals the finest luxury hotels — a complete outdoor living destination where every detail has been considered and every zone invites you to slow down, gather, and stay a while.
The centerpiece is a breathtaking freeform pool of impressive scale, its organic, curvilinear shape designed to feel as though it was carved naturally from the landscape rather than constructed within it. The pool's deep, jewel-toned water — achieved through a rich dark mosaic tile waterline and a dark plaster finish — creates an almost lagoon-like quality that shifts from teal to deep blue depending on the light and angle. In-pool sun shelf loungers sit at the water's edge, allowing guests to lounge half-submerged on warm days, while a separate built-in spa nestled at one end completes the aquatic experience.
The pool's surround is equally impressive. A generous travertine patio wraps the full perimeter of the pool in warm cream and honey tones, providing abundant space for multiple entertainment zones to coexist without ever feeling crowded. A sweeping row of premium chaise lounges with crisp white cushions lines one side of the pool, shaded by a series of elegant teak-framed market umbrellas that bring a Riviera-resort sensibility to the suburban backyard.
The stone hardscape tells a particularly rich material story. Dry-stacked natural stone retaining walls curve generously around the lower elevation of the pool, their warm amber, rust, and gray tones echoing the travertine patio above and connecting the pool structure organically to the sloped terrain. Stone steps with flagstone treads descend gracefully between levels, and large natural boulders are thoughtfully placed throughout the landscaping — giving the entire environment the feeling of a discovered natural water feature rather than a constructed pool.
A dedicated outdoor living room sits on the patio, anchored by a woven-rope lounge chair and a coordinating sofa with generous cream cushions, gathered around a sculptural concrete pedestal side table. The furniture selection — organic, tactile, and resort-caliber — creates a seating area that feels as comfortable and considered as any indoor living room, with the forest canopy serving as a natural ceiling above.
Around the corner, a separate fire pit terrace provides a second distinct outdoor destination. A massive circular stone fire pit — built from the same dry-stacked natural stone as the retaining walls — sits at the center of a gathering space ringed by weathered teak Adirondack-style chairs with white cushions. This zone feels intentionally removed from the pool's energy, offering a quieter, more intimate space for evening gatherings and cooler nights.
The house itself — a stunning modern farmhouse with white board-and-batten siding, exposed timber gable trusses, black-framed windows, and a covered back porch with timber posts — anchors the entire composition. The architecture and the landscape speak the same language: natural materials, clean lines, and an effortless relationship between indoor and outdoor living. A separate carriage house or garage structure in matching architectural style rounds out the property's exterior.

This project represents an increasingly popular type of project - combining 2 bedrooms into a single master suite. The house is a 1910 craftsman, with 4 bedrooms on the second floor. Typical of older homes, the master bedroom had a very small bathroom, and very little closet space. The owners decided to sacrifice an adjacent guest bedroom to create a spacious master suite. The new rooms include a large bathroom, with hers and his vanities, separate toilet room, custom tile shower and soaking tub. The extra space also allowed us to install a luxurious custom walk-in closet.
Design Criteria:
- Increase size and utility of closet space.
- Create a large, luxury bathroom with distinctly separate hers/his spaces.
Special Features:
- Custom tile shower, with frameless glass door
- Platform soaking tub w/ custom tile deck
- His/Hers vanities with quartz countertops.
- Separate toilet room.
- Room-sized walk-in closet with custom cabinet system.
- Custom 5-Panel doors and built-up mouldings to match the original woodwork.

Rob and Danielle have three children and wanted a kitchen redesign that would function better for their active household. Their kitchen contained tight spaces with a narrow island that blocked flow through the room. Two cooks in the kitchen were one too many as the space wasn’t conducive for it. For entertaining, the island proved to be too small to set out all their food and have room around it for guests to congregate. The only way to walk to the great room, which was where the family hung out most often, was to go through the kitchen and dining area, proving to again congest the area. They are avid sailors, and wanted to bring in the color of the sea into their contemporary design.
I added a separate entry point directly from the kitchen to the great room, and created a work triangle in a separate area to relieve the congestion from people passing through the room. The island shape and size were uniquely designed to allow the person at the sink to be able to look directly into the great room, and provide ample space to spread out food for entertaining. A bookcase was integrated into the island to display cookbooks, and the paneled refrigerator made for a seamless wall of beautiful cabinetry. The entry into the formal dining was relocated to remove the necessity of having corner cabinetry. A separate bar area allows family and guests to make their drinks without needing to go into the chef’s space. The glass backsplash tile was selected to reflect the sea colors they love, with crystal pendants to add bling similar to the light that reflects off the water.

Nestled on a waterfront property in northeastern Georgia, this sophisticated two-story residence boasts a charming exterior crafted from earth-toned bricks on all four sides. The house includes a two-car garage and a separate boat garage for added convenience. Its front façade showcases the allure of Board-n-Batten shutters and a natural wood double-door entryway with an elegant arched design.
The kitchen, dining area, and family room harmoniously form an open-concept space. The kitchen is well-appointed with a spacious serving island featuring a built-in stovetop and sleek stainless steel appliances. The dining area showcases a stylish design with horizontal rough-sawn paneling, its own sink, and a convenient serving bar. The family room is graced by a vaulted exposed beam ceiling, a captivating stone fireplace, barn door-style doorways, and offers a delightful view of both the rear deck and the serene lake beyond.
In the master bathroom, you'll find separate vanities for him and her, a luxurious threshold-less shower adorned with herringbone-style tile work, a freestanding soaking tub, and a private water closet. The outdoor living area has been thoughtfully designed, offering an expansive rear patio that overlooks the serene lake.

The second cabana situated in the back corner was originally occupied by an old in-ground spa. It was removed, backfilled and foundations were poured for a new 5-sided 13 x 13 structure. It is divided into two halves with a washroom/change room on the left and change room/storage room on the right.

This expansive stonework, brick and siding exterior home, with a beautifully sodded yard, is located in Jefferson GA. The welcoming entrance incorporates a covered stone patio with a wood inlay and exposed bean ceiling. Just inside the front door, the elegant spacious floor plan opens right up to the columned foyer flowing into the vaulted ceiling family room. The family room features hardwood floors and large windows overlooking the backyard swimming pool.
The family room flows right into the kitchen and large eating room areas, both of which also have a view of the swimming pool area. The bright kitchen is equipped with custom cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. The ample master bedroom is designed with a tray ceiling and hardwood flooring. The master bath features his and hers vanity, herringbone style flooring, a walk-in shower and separate soaking tub. The upstairs includes extra bedrooms that look out over the outdoor living space. The massive outdoor living space features a large covered stone paved patio with and vaulted wood inlaid ceiling. The patio leads out to an inground pool and separate hot tub.

2 additions done at separate times. The master walk in closet is 20x16 and features a beautiful custom closet in a wardrobe style. Antique island cabinet for extra storage.
Master bathroom addition was added in 2018 and is 20x12. The bathroom features a huge shower, beautiful custom Holiday Kitchens vanity, separate storage closet with custom shelving, heated floors and towel bar, separate commode room, and crystal chandelier.

This construction management project was designed and installed by our talented team of craftsman. This started as a standard split level kitchen with a separate dining room with an addition coming off of the kitchen. The space was cluttered, separated, and too small. We removed the wall separating the dining room and the kitchen to create one larger room. This gave us the space we needed to install a large island. We turned the addition into a beautiful pantry that doubles as a serving station for the pool area.

The apartment was designed for a young couple, the main task was to create a balance between the shared and private blocks. We avoided build partitions that would separate the shared areas from each other, so it includes an entrance group and a portal smoothly flowing into the studio. The bedroom is separated by a partition with sliding doors, thereby cutting off the private area. Both blocks are served by a common spacious bathroom.
The color scheme is based on combining the texture of warm wood, light walls and ceiling, creating a cozy atmosphere. Separate decorative elements in vintage style create a harmonious combination and unite the interior into a single composition. The main source of light are overhead lamps, which give a soft directional light.
