Inspiration for a timeless kitchen remodel in Boston

This fantastic Lake Michigan home offers its owners quiet and retreat – while loudly boasting some amazing interior and exterior features. This lake home is nestled at the end of a long winding drive and at the top of a breathtaking Lake Michigan bluff. Extensive designing and planning ensured that every living space and bedroom has outstanding lake views. This lake home carries a light-hearted, beachy theme throughout – with welcoming blues and greens – accented by custom white cabinetry and superior trim details. The interior details include quartz and granite countertops, stainless appliances, quarter-sawn white oak floors, Pella windows, and beautiful finishing fixtures. The exterior displays Smart-Side siding and trim details, a screen room with the EZEBreeze screen system, composite decking, maintenance-free rail systems, and an upper turret to the most pristine views. This was an amazing home to build and will offer the owners, and generations to follow, a place to share time together and create awesome memories. This coastal summer vacation house down in the Cape Cod, MA area has a fun, bright and bold atmosphere. It was designed to fit a large amount of family and friends in a compact space. The house is described as " The Tiffany box blue" and is a showcase project in the Home Remodeling Magazine August 2016 edition- South Coast/Cape & Islands/South Shore.

The clients bought a new construction house in Bay Head, NJ with an architectural style that was very traditional and quite formal, not beachy. For our design process I created the story that the house was owned by a successful ship captain who had traveled the world and brought back furniture and artifacts for his home. The furniture choices were mainly based on English style pieces and then we incorporated a lot of accessories from Asia and Africa. The only nod we really made to “beachy” style was to do some art with beach scenes and/or bathing beauties (original painting in the study) (vintage series of black and white photos of 1940’s bathing scenes, not shown) ,the pillow fabric in the family room has pictures of fish on it , the wallpaper in the study is actually sand dollars and we did a seagull wallpaper in the downstairs bath (not shown).

This beach-town home with attic features a light arctic white exterior siding, with a rear covered porch along the width of the home. The porch has access to the backyard with concrete paver patio, as well as inside with 3 sets of french doors. The contrast of the white trim against the tan roof create a warm fresh updated coastal color pallet. The rear porch feels very beachy with its gray floors, white trim, white privacy curtains on the sides, black curtain rods, simple wicker chairs around a long table, multiple seating areas, and contrasting black light fixtures & fans. Beachy grass landscaping softens the edge of the porch. The porch can be used rain or shine to comfortably seat friends & family.
