This coastal summer vacation house down in the Cape Cod, MA area has a fun, bright and bold atmosphere. It was designed to fit a large amount of family and friends in a compact space. The house is described as " The Tiffany box blue" and is a showcase project in the Home Remodeling Magazine August 2016 edition- South Coast/Cape & Islands/South Shore.

This beach-town home with attic features a light arctic white exterior siding, with a rear covered porch along the width of the home. The porch has access to the backyard, as well as inside with 3 sets of french doors. The contrast of the painted white beams against the knotty wood pine ceiling create a warm fresh updated coastal color pallet. The rear porch feels very beachy with its gray floors, white trim, white privacy curtains, black curtain rods, light wood ceiling, simple wicker chairs around a long table, and contrasting black light fixtures & fans. Minimalist yet beachy grass landscaping softens the edge of the porch. The porch can be used rain or shine to comfortably seat friends & family.

Our goal was to create a fresh, airy, and inviting atmosphere that would appeal to potential buyers. We wanted to highlight the home’s proximity to the beach and its laid-back California vibe. To achieve this, we used light-colored furniture and decor, with beachy accents and colorways throughout the house.

A small weekend beach resort home for a family of four with two little girls. Remodeled from a funky old house built in the 60's on Oxnard Shores. This little white cottage has the master bedroom, a playroom, guest bedroom and girls' bunk room upstairs, while downstairs there is a 1960s feel family room with an industrial modern style bar for the family's many parties and celebrations. A great room open to the dining area with a zinc dining table and rattan chairs. Fireplace features custom iron doors, and green glass tile surround. New white cabinets and bookshelves flank the real wood burning fire place. Simple clean white cabinetry in the kitchen with x designs on glass cabinet doors and peninsula ends. Durable, beautiful white quartzite counter tops and yes! porcelain planked floors for durability! The girls can run in and out without worrying about the beach sand damage!. White painted planked and beamed ceilings, natural reclaimed woods mixed with rattans and velvets for comfortable, beautiful interiors Project Location: Oxnard, California. Project designed by Maraya Interior Design. From their beautiful resort town of Ojai, they serve clients in Montecito, Hope Ranch, Malibu, Westlake and Calabasas, across the tri-county areas of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles, south to Hidden Hills- north through Solvang and more.

The homeowners of this California Cottage wanted a beach vibe in their 1700 sq. ft. home. They wanted to make the most of their spaces by widening doorways, adding wood floors throughout the house, and adding a skylight. The result is cozy, casual California living at its best with frequent family dinners and celebrations with friends.

This friendly family room area has an 'under the sea' feeling, with blue painted beadboard as a backdrop for fun aquatic decor. Linen slipcovers protect the furniture and add to the laid-back beach house charm.
Color, playfulness and whimsy combine to create a casual, welcoming summer retreat for empty nesters who still tell us that when they walk through the door they say “Aaahhh” to themselves. WKD took one large room and created 4 different zones: an airy and bright living room area for conversation, a cozy family room area for reading, a dining room area for family meals, and a game table area for games.
The clients have hired us back for phase 2 - giving the kitchen a complete overhaul.

Beautiful, expansive Midcentury Modern family home located in Dover Shores, Newport Beach, California. This home was gutted to the studs, opened up to take advantage of its gorgeous views and designed for a family with young children. Every effort was taken to preserve the home's integral Midcentury Modern bones while adding the most functional and elegant modern amenities. Photos: David Cairns, The OC Image

Finding inspiration from the sea, the Salt Design Co. team used special ordered honed NEMO Marble in various colors of ‘calacatta’ to create a unique pattern that mimicked the scales of a fish or mermaid tail. Also built into the design is a horizontal inset shelf that runs along the entire shower wall.
The flooring was designed to be simple in order to keep the focus on the gorgeous shower design. Area porcelain tile in color ‘gray’ in a matte finish was used in 12×24. The Area tile has an industrial look, which ties into the other bathrooms in the house, but in this application helps to balance the statement backdrop of the shower.

As you might guess from the "Wild Dunes Path" name of the project, this particular site sits only about a quarter of a mile away from the shores of Lake Michigan. With that in mind, we chose both hardscaping and plant material that would incorporate and enhance that "beachy" feel, keeping everything natural looking and free flowing. The plant material, consisting mainly of sedum, ornamental grasses, shasta daisies, coreopsis, and lirope, is fairly low maintenance, yet will provide interest all year round.

New home for a blended family of six in a beach town. This 2 story home with attic has roof returns at corners of the house. This photo also shows a simple box bay window with 4 windows at the front end of the house. It features a shed awning above the multiple windows with a brown metal roof, open white rafters, and 3 white brackets. Light arctic white exterior siding with white trim, white windows, and tan roof create a fresh, clean, updated coastal color pallet. The coastal vibe continues with the side dormers at the second floor.
