I have had the privilege of consulting with Oak Hill Architects on a number of projects for our home over the last two years. Andrew's eye and attention to detail are superb. I would highly recommend Andrew and his team for anyone looking for exceptional service and a keen sense of design.

If you are in search of “The Best” architect for a new home or home improvement, there is no one better than Andrew Reck and the amazing “Oak Hill Architects.” Where to begin? For my wife and I in our Beacon Street condo in Brookline, MA it honestly all started with one loose tile in the primary bathroom shower. Instead of simply calling a tile company we discussed the idea of renovating that bathroom. My wife researched several architects in New England and reached out to Andrew Reck, founder of Oak Hill Architects. Talk about hitting a home run on the first pitch. From our very first meeting we connected with Andrew and his gentle professionalism, acute eye, unmatched knowledge of historic architecture and remarkable vision. Oak Hill Architects and Andrew personally worked with us on a plan to not only renovate that one bathroom but for us to also consider expanding the scope of the project. In the end we were thrilled to broaden the renovation to include both bathrooms, primary bedroom suite, enlarged walk-in closet, incredible new kitchen, illuminated dining room dry bar, gorgeous new hard wood flooring and lighting throughout and so much more. Oak Hill Architects paid very close attention to keeping our desired look and feel “transitional” keeping that old school brownstone feel with a gorgeous subtle modern flair. Andrew and his team were there every step of the way of our 15 month-long renovation from beginning to end helping to map out a schematic representation of the entire condo, creating conceptional renderings, recommending fantastic trade partners in helping us pick out all selections from floor to ceiling throughout every room and even introducing us to our amazing contracting team. Andrew became our direct liaison between our contracting team always working on our behalf and with our best interest at heart. Andrew’s expertise and attention to detail is unmatched. Working on such a big project undoubtedly can create some stress but Andrew was always available whenever we needed him. Our constant communication back and forth assured us a constant level of enormous comfort. We began our condo renovation project prior to Covid hitting which was stressful and required our project to be shut down for nearly 2 months for safety reasons. Even during that difficult time Andrew and his team never stopped. In the end Oak Hill Architects helped create our magnificent newly renovated condo which exceeded all our expectations. We entered into a contract with Mr. Andrew Reck of Oak Hill Architects to provide architectural services in 2019. We had serious issues with this service. We terminated the contract.

Andrew Reck, and the entire team at Oak Hill Architects, are a unique combination of talented and easy to work with. The results of our project far exceed our extremely high expectations. When we set out to renovate, our goal was to update and modernize in a manner that was both modern and true to the original charms of our 1907 home. Almost two years later, together with Andrew and his team, we have achieved that and so much more. From the outset of our project we had a distinct point of view and a clear vision of what we wanted to accomplish. Andrew listened to our (fairly lengthy) list of ideas and, after carefully and respectfully considering them, delivered 3 design options for us to choose from. Each of the options was a more perfect version of our vision, reflecting creative design and attention to detail. Andrew’s dedication never waned throughout the arc of our project. We often marveled at how he saw the big picture while also minding the smallest details. Whether it was something big, like choosing a contractor (Cebulla Construction - who we also would highly recommend!) or seemingly small, like identifying the right cabinet pull, Andrew was invested in every decision as if it was his own home. Just one example of this is that in a search for the perfect honed marble countertop we went to four (!) different showrooms on three different days. Good enough was never the standard. A version of this example can be repeated for every finishing touch in our home. Looking though photos of Oak Hill projects one can easily see that the results of their work is perfection. What the photos do not show is that the path to those results is an easy one to travel. Andrew is talented, reliable and trustworthy. We could not have asked for a better partner in our project and we can not recommend Oak Hill Architects highly enough.

We hired Andrew Reck for two extensive remodeling projects for us. One completed in 2016 (kitchen) and one completed in March 2018 (master bath). We could not be more happy with Andrew and his team’s professionalism and artistry. Both rooms are perfect! Their willingness to listen to design ideas even when a bit quirky made us feel comfortable and extremely satisfied with the finished products. I wouldn’t hesitate in choosing them for any further projects.

My husband and I hired Andrew and his team at Oak Hill Architects to design, execute, and manage a significant addition/renovation to our home in Chestnut Hill. Andrew came up with and executed ideas that make our home so much more functional for our family and modern day living. Andrew is a good listener, thoughtful, intelligent, concise, organized, creative, straightforward, and honest. He recommended a quality contractor who we had an excellent experience with; I do not know many people who feel that way about their contractors post-construction! In addition, Andrew managed our project from start to post-completion, which is key for two busy, full-time working parents. We are thrilled with the new functionality of our living spaces and would not hesitate to recommend Andrew and his team. In fact, as a real estate attorney, I have the ability to refer Andrew to clients (and friends), and do so on a regular basis. Everyone I know that has used Andrew's services sing his praises.

We really enjoyed the whole process with Andrew, from conception to completion he was a true professional with a great and flawless design eye. He always put our visions first and confirmed we were happy with the results as the project developed, quick to respond and always on top of the details so we had little stress during the Reno. Oak Hill Architects came highly recommended to us and we hired Andrew Reck and his talented team to design an open concept kitchen design that would flow seamlessly into other areas of our home. Allowing more natural light to come into the house was one of our top priorities. Andrew listened attentively to our needs and made suggestions that we could not have envisioned on our own. He also recommended Cebulla Construction for our project and we couldn't have been happier with the quality of work that was done. The kitchen/dining space has been completely transformed with so many beautiful details including white cabinetry, french doors, a large kitchen island, glass subway tiles and a detailed lighting plan that included hanging island pendants, recessed lighting, etc. The kitchen layout is perfect for our family and works well for entertaining. Andrew is trustworthy and talented. He is always quick to respond to questions or concerns and I would highly recommend him and his team!

We couldn't have had a better experience in working with Oak Hill Architects. We hired them to help us re-design a 100 year old two family home in Boston and they did a fantastic job of blending some precious old features of the home with updated spaces. The flow of the space is likewise wonderful. From the first site visit to well after the punch list was completed they were professional, punctual, and extraordinarily attentive to detail. Through their careful work we avoided delays in permitting and construction and when the unexpected arose (as it always does) they were responsive and helped resolve whatever the issue was promptly. They also found us a contractor who did great work at a reasonable price.

We hired Andrew Reck & Oak Hill to completely design and build out our unfinished basement of approximately 1,800 square feet. This included adding a home gym, wine cellar, workshop, full bathroom, laundry room, kitchenette, play space and media space. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Andrew and his team. He is incredibly knowledgeable, intelligent and passionate about his work not to mention communicative, articulate and respectful. Working to design the space really felt like a team effort that resulted in a better, more useable space as a result of his expertise. The end result is an incredible ("nicest basement in the world") family space that is a joy to spend time in. We are excited to hire Andrew and his team again in our new house and we can't wait to see what he imagines for us there. We highly, highly recommend Oak Hill Architects.

We hired Andrew Reck of Oak Hill Architects to completely remodel and add additions to our 1901 gambrel shingle style home in Brookline, Ma. It was an amazing project which Andrew embraced with passion and knowledge, seamlessly blending two additions, a four season porch and an office with half bath, with an addition to the master suite above it. He was very detail oriented, fluent in the period and style of the home. The end result was a beautiful family home, every room maximized to an 8th of an inch, meaning, we were able to work within the existing roof lines to create en suite bedrooms, where before, three bedrooms shared one bath. We added architectural details, such as custom railings on the exterior porches, shingles set in patterns, cupolas, eyebrow windows and a beautiful entry overhang. The guest house was also taken down to the studs and completely remodeled, inside and out. What once looked like an abandoned shack, became a jewel in the crown of what is affectionately known as Happy Hollow. Happy Hollow has been featured in New England Home Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens specialty magazines, featuring the kitchen and bathrooms, and was awarded New England Cable Network's "Home of the Year" and featured on their house show. We are in the process of designing and building a new home from scratch. It is in the luxury category, and we did not hesitate to contact Andrew once we secured the land on which we will be building our final home. There are many architects to choose from in Boston, but I will say what sets Andrew apart from many others we have interviewed is that he is most interested in designing and building a home we want, as opposed to building a monument to himself. In my eyes, having an architect who listens and then executes a refined version of my vision is priceless.

We used Oak Hill Architects for a renovation of our run down 1890s farmhouse. We cannot say enough good things about them, they are fabulous! Andrew is extremely professional, creative and detail oriented. He helped us to transform our house into a home that we love, and helped us to do so within our tight budget constraints.
