This once small, dark kitchen did not allow enough space for a family of 5 to all enjoy the kitchen at the same time. The removal of a stone wall and creation of a new layout along with creamy white cabinets and raised ceiling now make the whole room more open and airy. The large island now has a sink and white carrara marble counter. Pine floors replaced the previous tile which also helped in brightening up the space.

Joy Street DesignAs a recently purchased home, our clients quickly decided they needed to make some major adjustments. The home was pretty outdated and didn’t speak to the young family’s unique style, but we wanted to keep the welcoming character of this Mediterranean bungalow in tact. The classic white kitchen with a new layout is the perfect backdrop for the family. Brass accents add a touch of luster throughout and modernizes the fixtures and hardware.
While the main common areas feature neutral color palettes, we quickly gave each room a burst of energy through bright accent colors and patterned textiles. The kids’ rooms are the most playful, showcasing bold wallcoverings, bright tones, and even a teepee tent reading nook.

Added plenty of cabinets and a large island. cabinets are White and red birch with a glaze from Ultra Craft. The counters are Cloud white Granite. The floor tile is wood look porcelain in jungle black. We used a Dal Tile mosaic glass and stone on the back splash with silver grout.

This ultra modern tile is comprised of various sizes of stainless steel tile in silver and dark pewter colors. There are two types of brush patterns on the stainless steel, the first being a straight snow matte linear brush pattern, and the second being a circular brushed pattern.
