A garage addition in the Aspen Employee Housing neighborhood known as the North Forty. A remodel of the existing home, with the garage addition, on a budget to comply with strict neighborhood affordable housing guidelines. The garage was limited in square footage and with lot setbacks.

The homeowners loved the location of their small Cape Cod home, but they didn't love its limited interior space. A 10' addition along the back of the home and a brand new 2nd story gave them just the space they needed. With a classy monotone exterior and a welcoming front porch, this remodel is a refined example of a transitional style home. The backyard is a mecca for entertaining and family recreation with a massive deck in sand-blasted Eramosa flagstone set on concrete. The matching ledgerock knee wall rises to the perfect height for extra seating. The pool features a light grey Armour Quartz interior surrounded by Eramosa bullnose coping.

A newly renovated twenty-seven-unit apartment building in Astoria, New York partnered with Rochon New York. Despite limited space, the Rochon New York design team designed a transitional open and airy gourmet kitchen, which is perfect for cooking and entertaining. The countertops are white quartz. The backsplash is subway tiles. GE appliances were selected. The floor is hardwood. And the Rochon wood grain cabinets have a flat door with a handgrip for a modern look. Since Rochon is the manufacturer, there is never an additional charge for custom sizes or colors.

This used to be a musty utility area. We converted it into a playroom for the kids complete with built-in alcove beds and a full bathroom. This adult lifestyle backyard proves beyond doubt that small can be beautiful. The owner is an avid gardener and wanted to have room to entertain small groups yet maintain enough space for lush plantings with an elegant feel.

The tree protection and lot coverage restrictions limited the size of the pool and deck. They could not encroach on the roots of their neighbour’s massive trees and the lot coverage was limited to 50%. This, along with the steeply sloping yard, meant the pool and deck would have to be kept close to the house.
