Artaic worked closely with underwater photographer and digital imaging specialist Jim Hellemn to produce a stunning pool-bottom mosaic for a luxurious vacation home in the Cayman Islands. Inspired by the natural coral reef situated right beside the property, the 60-foot long mosaic, which is made up of thousands of squared 3/8” vitreous glass tiles, offers the homeowners a permanent art installation that immortalizes the underwater ecosystem living right in their backyard.
Hellemn, whose work has appeared in National Geographic and at the American Museum of Natural History, took a “stitched” high-resolution photograph of the coral reef, which was then digitally translated into a mosaic using Artaic’s proprietary Tylist™ software.
“Capturing the essence of coral reefs and marine environments is at the core of my imaging pursuits. Coral reefs are among the most colorful places on the planet, but are nearly impossible to visualize on a large scale without the use of some very special tools,” says Hellemn.
Coral reefs, although now one of the most widely endangered ecosystems in the world, still remain some of the most colorful and beautiful wildlife habitats on Earth. The combination of Hellemn’s photography and the precision of Artaic’s mosaic tile arrangement gives the residence’s owners a realistic and everlasting interpretation of the vibrant reef found beside them to enjoy for years to come.

A more contemporary pool design with 3 underwater stools, sheer decent from pergola, pergola over kitchen area, 2 bubblers. Though the pool is not centered to the backyard, it is still a functional part that will get a lot of action.

Texas swimming pool designer Mike Farley takes you to the design of a Colleyville residential Lazy River project that has already won multiple awards and was featured on HGTV "Cool Pools". This pool has it all - outdoor kitchen, multiple waterfalls, rain falls, bridges, an elevated spa on an island surrounded by the river, basketball, luxury cave, underwater speakers, and they converted a stall of the garage to make a bathroom with a dry sauna & walkin dual shower. Project is designed by Mike Farley and constructed by Claffey Pools. Check out Mike's Pool Tour Video series at FarleyPoolDesigns.com. Photo by Laura Farley

Immersion Bathing System
A key component of the Experience 440 environment is its immersion bathing feature. Its no coincidence that ancient Romans, Japanese, and Aztecs all enjoyed bathing with heat and steam followed by a bracing plunge into a cool pool of water. The deep Japanese-style soaking tub accommodates two bathers with low seating for maximum immersion. Underwater color LED lighting adds the therapeutic benefits of chromotherapy.

Fond du Lac Silver outcropping stairs from the courtyard patio lead to the backyard which has a pond and small waterfall incorporated alongside an existing white pine that was protected during construction.

The 10’ x 25’ footprint of the custom Gunite pool is in pleasing balance with the other elements of the yard. An interesting feature of the pool is the 20” deep underwater bench which runs 15’ between the spa and the deep end swim out step in the corner.
