The boys can climb the walls and swing from the ceiling in this playroom designed for indoor activity. When the toys are removed it can easily convert to the party barn with two sets of mahogany double doors that open out onto a patio in the front of the house and a poolside deck on the waterside.

The pathways meander throughout the landscape... some with travertine stepping stones and gravel and those below the majestic oaks left natural with fallen leaves. Raised vegetable beds and fruit trees occupy some of the sunniest areas of the landscape. A variety of low-water and low-maintenance plants for both sunny and shady areas include several succulents, grasses, CA natives and other site-appropriate Mediterranean plants complimented by a variety of boulders. This open family room is part of a larger addition to this Oak Park home, which also included a new kitchen and a second floor master suite. This project was designed and executed by award winning Normandy Designer Stephanie Bryant. The coferred ceilings and limestone fireplace surround add visual interest and elegance to this living room space. The soft blue color of the ceiling enhances the visual interest even further.

Glamorous Barbara Berry Inspired Living Room. San Diego based designer Rebecca Robeson creates a dream lounge type living room for her clients by paneling over existing windows to create a center focal point for this Thomas Pheasant starburst mirror. With square shades on acrylic sconces the pair flank either side of the mirror in their own molded spaces to create this perfect symmetrically balanced focal point wall. The homeowners of this house wanted to maintain the open feeling of their space, but add a little more distinction between the different zones of the first floor. By adding a structural half wall with custom shelving, we combined design and function. A stone fireplace flanked by arched windows is the main focal point of the room, while a comfortable gray sectional - piled high with pillows and throws - offers plenty of seating to gather around the TV custom fit into the shelving of the half wall.
