This modern transitional kitchen remodel combines timeless design with everyday functionality. Featuring custom white shaker cabinetry, sleek black quartz countertops and backsplash, matte black hardware, a professional-grade range, and warm wood-look flooring, this space feels bright, open, and inviting. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to maximize storage, improve workflow, and create a clean, sophisticated aesthetic built to stand the test of time.

Emma Gerancher from Reico Kitchen & Bath in Charlottesville, VA, partnered with Luis Dorta of LED Construction to design a transitional kitchen featuring Masterpiece cabinetry. The kitchen includes the Barton door style in a Cottage finish for the perimeter and a custom Sherwin-Williams Mount Etna painted finish for the island.
The space also features MSI W Calacatta Safyra countertops, along with a Frigidaire canopy hood and microwave.
The client shared, “Gutting our old kitchen to reconfigure the space for better flow, workspace, and storage was a challenge. Emma listened to my needs and offered helpful tips and options, which made the process work. The layout followed the workflow, and my habits and style guided the final details. Reico gave me the options and confidence to trust the process, and the outcome is seamless and beautiful.”
Emma explained, “This kitchen is one of my favorites. The homeowners wanted to replace the peninsula with a custom painted island in Sherwin-Williams Mount Etna, which paired well with the Cottage perimeter cabinets, Calacatta Safyra countertops, sea glass backsplash, and honey bronze hardware. It was a pleasure working with both the homeowners and the contractors throughout the remodel.”

Executive Chef’s Island: Functional Luxury & Open Concept
This perspective highlights the centerpiece of the gourmet kitchen—a massive, custom-built island designed for high-end functionality and social engagement. By situating the induction cooktop and professional ventilation within the island, the kitchen becomes a stage for hosting, allowing the chef to remain part of the conversation while maintaining a perfect workflow.
Signature Design Elements:
Floating Stainless Ventilation: A modern, high-cfm island hood acts as a sleek architectural element, suspended with precision to maintain open sightlines throughout the main living area.
Premium Stone Surfaces: The expansive granite island top features dramatic veining and a durable, polished finish, providing ample space for meal prep and casual dining.
Integrated Custom Storage: The island base is maximized with deep, soft-close drawers and custom pull-outs, keeping culinary tools organized and within reach.
Atmospheric Lighting Design: The combination of recessed ceiling lights and warm LED toe-kick illumination creates a layered lighting scheme that enhances both safety and the high-end "glow" of the evening environment.

This Sun City kitchen renovation replaced dated oak cabinetry and laminate surfaces with ceiling-height shaker cabinetry, light quartz countertops, and recessed lighting. The updated layout improves storage and workflow while maintaining a bright, soft contemporary aesthetic. Warm wood flooring and black accents add contrast and depth, creating a kitchen designed for long-term livability.

The home office has evolved into an indispensable space that seamlessly blends productivity and comfort. Tailored to the demands of remote work or personal projects, a well-designed home office often features ergonomic furniture, ample storage, and efficient technology integration.
Thoughtful placement of desks and chairs enhances workflow, while strategic lighting promotes focus and reduces eye strain. The home office is not only a functional workspace but also an expression of individual style, with personalized decor and organizational elements contributing to a conducive and inspiring atmosphere.
As the boundary between work and home blurs, the home office emerges as a versatile sanctuary that fosters concentration, creativity, and a harmonious work-life balance.

This kitchen renovation in Charlotte, NC was designed to create a bright, functional space that supports both everyday living and entertaining. The updated layout introduces a seamless connection between the kitchen and a dedicated dining nook, enhanced by large windows that maximize natural light.
As part of a comprehensive design-build remodeling project, the space features a balanced mix of warm wood cabinetry and white painted cabinets, paired with a clean, neutral palette. A central island improves workflow and gathering, while a built-in wet bar adds convenience for entertaining and additional storage, creating a more versatile and usable space.
The result is a thoughtfully reconfigured kitchen that enhances flow, increases functionality, and reflects how the homeowners live and gather today.

This 1,000ft² recording and production studio, built in 2021 for producer couple Latifah Alattas and Lucas Morton, was designed as a fully custom creative environment that supports writing, mixing, and collaboration at the highest level. Both Latifah and Lucas are multi-instrumentalists, engineers, and mixers, and the studio reflects the full range of their workflows—visually inspiring, technically precise, and intuitive in every room.
The facility was built from the ground up with a strong emphasis on architectural acoustics and plug-and-play connectivity. The layout includes two Control Rooms, multiple isolation booths, and shared common spaces, all tied together with seamless audio integration. No matter where you are in the studio, routing, monitoring, and communication remain effortless and consistent.
Behind the aesthetic, the acoustic design is exceptionally robust. Six independent floating-floor systems support the suites, ensuring each room operates with minimal sound transmission. Tailored sound-reducing wall assemblies, full-lite doors, engineered window systems, and intentional treatment plans deliver clarity, isolation, and precision for tracking and mixing. Each space is mechanically decoupled, allowing multiple rooms to run simultaneously without compromise.
For monitoring, both Latifah and Lucas chose Genelec “The Ones” series monitors with GLM calibration to ensure accurate translation and consistency across the entire facility.
Natural light and a warm, welcoming aesthetic anchor the visual identity of the studio, reflecting the creative energy and personality of its owners. The result is a highly functional, beautifully crafted space where ideas can move freely and production can happen without limitations.

This 2022 project was a fully custom mix and writing suite designed for multi-Grammy and Dove Award–winning producer and songwriter Kyle Lee. The goal was to create an environment that mirrors his creative workflow—quiet, natural, highly accurate, and intentionally crafted for long sessions of collaboration and focused work.
The layout is compact but feels open thanks to high ceilings, soft daylight from the surrounding windows, and a palette of warm textures and natural materials. The room maintains a clean, grounded aesthetic without sacrificing technical performance, balancing style and acoustical precision in a way that supports both creativity and accuracy.
Acoustic isolation was a core priority. The suite is fully separated from the rest of the home using sound-reducing wall assemblies, custom bass management including a full soft-ceiling trap and a false rear wall trap, and full-lite doors designed for controlled leakage. The result is a private, self-contained environment that integrates seamlessly with the home’s flow yet transforms into a focused creative space the moment the doors close.
Monitoring was built around Kyle’s preferred ATC SCM45A loudspeakers, paired with Dynaudio subwoofers and calibrated specifically to the room’s frequency response. Every treatment, material, and speaker position was selected to ensure what Kyle hears while mixing precisely translates to the final master.
The finished suite delivers an effortless feel with professional-grade performance—an inspiring, accurate, and dependable space built to support Kyle’s work at the highest level.

Important factors to consider before remodeling your kitchen:
As previously stated, a kitchen renovation can appear to be a massive undertaking. When you choose Cavalier Homes, you’ll be working with a Long Island home remodeling company that has been in business for nearly 40 years. Not only do we have four decades of design and craftsmanship experience, but we also have a professional team that will guide you through the entire kitchen remodeling process.
Here are some crucial factors to take into account in order to maximize the value of your kitchen remodeling service:
#1 Budget:
This is quite an important factor as every home renovation project starts here. Think about the aspects that are important to you before deciding on the overall remodeling budget. If it’s flooring, you should probably spend more money there and perhaps spend less on appliances and lighting.
#2 Design:
Keeping the existing design of your kitchen definitely keeps your budget low, but it may not be possible to realize what you have envisioned. However, walking through our ideas will yield the best results.
Take some time to consider your workflow when remodeling your kitchen. What would work best for your cooking style? Is it easy to move around your kitchen? What happens if your family grows?
#3 Appliances:
Upgrading their current appliances is one of the main reasons homeowners think about remodeling their kitchens. The adjustments that may be necessary to make room for the new appliances must possibly be taken into consideration. We will assist you in preparing the extra wiring, plumbing, and cabinetry.
#4 Countertops and Cabinets:
For a more elegant appearance, choose countertops made of wood, marble, or granite. Wooden surfaces add character and charm while not costing a lot. Solid wood cabinets and slabs of granite, marble, or quartz are classic choices that will never go out of style.
#5 Lighting and Flooring:
These elements can make a significant difference in your kitchen’s appearance, giving it a stunning and unique look.
In addition to the above, you’ll have to compare the costs and benefits of upgrading to current trends versus classic designs. Kitchen renovations remain one of the most popular home improvement projects among the majority of homeowners. Contact us to discuss the design of your new kitchen and how we can assist you in providing the best kitchen remodeling service possible.

Our challenge was to organize a home business office—in a space only 7 ft x 8 ft—where the owner managed international sales with more than 300 products! A beautiful hand-planed cherry desk with a raw edge had been installed along one wall, but the office lacked organized storage space. With the addition of quick-access dividing trays, tiered computer stands for digital equipment, and free-standing shelving for matching 3-ring binders, the workflow was streamlined and all paperwork found a home! We also added an adjustable LED desk lamp to create a range of lighting conditions — perfect for simple photography work used for digital marketing!

Turn on your TV to any HGTV or DIY show, and you’ll see them tearing down the walls and opening a home. Open floor plan living is a trend that shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. If you’re still living with “rooms” dividing up your main living space like the kitchen for cooking, the dining room for eating in, and a living room/family room for entertaining, it is now time to check out an open floor plan.
This is a fantastic way to open the main living space of your existing home. It will improve workflows in the kitchen and traffic through your home and let in more natural light. As our lifestyles have shifted to a less formal way of living and entertaining, the idea of a traditional living room and dining room no longer fits how we use our space. Using our design build remodeling process, our clients in Howard County Maryland removed several dividing walls and got the open floor plan they had envisioned. Open living as in one room for all reasons, allows you to enjoy more of your home more of the time. It is the trend that keeps on trending.

In this extensive three-floor home renovation, every aspect of the residence was thoughtfully transformed to create a cohesive and inviting space. Starting with the entryway, a new front door and a well-placed staircase immediately set the tone for the home. The interior design was unified with a Coastal theme, updating all the furniture and decor throughout. In the front room and dining area, the removal of unnecessary, outdated columns and bulky shelf space modernized and maximized the functionality of the space. The kitchen underwent a complete overhaul with new appliances, cabinetry, and a spacious island, complete with organizational accessories to enhance workflow. Undercabinet lighting and a custom hood added both practicality and aesthetic appeal. In the living room, a stunning blue tile update to the fireplace and the addition of floating shelves created an eye-catching focal point. The powder bathroom was made more inviting through the use of wallpaper and new accents.
Upstairs, the master suite was elegantly updated with Coastal-themed materials and a luxurious freestanding bathtub in the bathroom. The addition of modern accents to the vanity area elevated its appearance.
Downstairs, the basement kitchenette was transformed from a dark and outdated space into a bright and clean area. The basement bathroom was updated to match the luxurious style of the upstairs bathroom.
Overall, this extensive renovation has breathed new life into the entire house, creating a fresh, modern, and cohesive space that the family will enjoy for years to come.

This custom kitchen remodel in Vienna, VA was designed to feel timeless, functional, and welcoming. The homeowners wanted a space that balanced clean lines with natural materials, while improving lighting, workflow, and overall comfort.
A key design decision was using Taj Mahal quartzite for both the countertops and the full-height backsplash. Carrying the same stone throughout the kitchen creates a seamless look and allows the soft veining and warm tones of the natural stone to become the focal point of the space.
The cabinetry was selected to complement the stone without overpowering it, offering ample storage and a classic profile that will age well over time. Updated lighting, including under-cabinet and recessed ceiling fixtures, enhances both task functionality and ambiance, while behind-the-scenes upgrades to electrical, ventilation, and HVAC ensure the kitchen performs as beautifully as it looks.
The result is a refined yet livable kitchen designed for everyday use and long-term enjoyment.

Take a peek at our 2022 project for Edgehill Music Publishing, located in the heart of Nashville’s 12th South district.
This 2,500 sq. ft. commercial facility was meticulously designed to accommodate up to seven writers’ rooms and production suites—each capable of operating simultaneously without interruption, with four of the rooms built for mixing capabilities. With seamless audio integration throughout, the space ensures intuitive connectivity no matter where you are on the property.
The aesthetic palette, paired with a loud and quirky speakeasy vibe, creates a fun atmosphere that reflects the owners’ personalities. The result is not just a studio that feels effortless—it’s an inspiring environment where writing, mixing, and production can happen with minimal sound transmission.
Behind the walls, the architectural acoustics are second to none. The design emphasizes a true “plug-and-play” workflow: each control room, both isolation booths, and all common areas are acoustically isolated with extraordinary attention to detail. Each suite is equipped with dedicated, silent 1:1 HVAC systems. Eight independent floating-floor systems support the suites, while tailored sound-reducing wall assemblies and intentional treatments in the main suites deliver clarity and precision for mixing. Full-lite doors, combined with the fact that no suite is mechanically bonded, allow all rooms to operate simultaneously with minimal sound transfer.
