Natalie listened to my design objectives and developed 4 concepts, all of which met my expectations (this doesn’t always happen!) and over the course of a year she further developed and refined the concept into a comprehensive plan. Natalie surveyed the property and created detailed drawings and plans for construction as well as a complete planting list and full layout. “Where do we even start to tell you how wonderful Jonas Winn of WinnBuild Design is. We had been waiting to add this bathroom to our home for over 25 years, and WinnBuild made it a reality beyond our wildest dreams! His craftmanship and professionalism is of the highest degree. Not only did he have great design ideas on how to add a bathroom to the upper level of our old house, he was so unbelievably kind and understanding to work with. Jonas listened to our ideas, and the needs we required, and was able to incorporate some of the same old world charm of our home into our new bathroom. For example, he used a swing door we had in storage that originally hung between our kitchen and dining room to create a pocket door for our new bathroom, and he matched the new bathroom woodwork perfectly with the woodwork in the main living areas of our old house. He constructed a balustrade and handrails up to our sleeping area where there were none before. I have some mobility issues and what he created is beautiful and very functional. Jonas took care EVERY SINGLE DAY to clean the areas where he was working. The bathroom we added was to a finished attic area we use as a media room. We sleep in the mezzanine, or loft the next level up from that area. Mind you this area is open, and we continued to sleep there during the construction of our new bathroom. He always cleaned the space when he was done working. If he used our garage for sawing tile or woodwork, he cleaned the garage so we could use the space EVERY SINGLE DAY he was here. If you have worked with other contractors, you will understand why this is so important. Some contractors we have worked with cared nothing about how they left our living spaces when they were done for the day, or even with the entire project. We cannot recommend WinnBuild highly enough. Our new bathroom is beyond beautiful, and our 94 year old house was a challenge to work with at times. There is no doubt that we will use WinnBuild Design again. We are already planning a kitchen remodel in the future, and we will definitely be calling them, and no one else to do the work in our beloved old home. “Our goal was to renovate a 3-bedroom ranch house, expand the living space with two additions, and change the roof line from flat '60's ranch to Prairie style. While we had a rough layout of the interior, clearly we needed an architect to guide the structural transformation to get the exterior look we wanted. We needed plans to guide the builders and elevations so we could see how it would appear on the site. Jeffrey Morton brought all of that and more. He has a flair and enthusiasm for renovation and saw the possibilities right away. After a thorough inspection of the structure from the foundation crawl space to the roof and the exterior from every angle, he quickly produced a first draft. The fuzzy vision in our imaginations was clearly rendered on paper. When the tricky roof line conversion needed some additional work, he provided the revisions promptly. The project was completed and is everything we hoped for.”
