“Our experience with Asher Custom Homes has been terrific; we highly recommend them for a custom home build. From the beginning of the project until the end, we felt like the Asher team was by our side every step of the way. Ed Asher really cares about his customers and this care sets the tone for our build and positively impacts every member of his team. Before the building process started, we met with Ed who helped us understand the pluses and minuses of various properties from every perspective. He knew much more than any realtor did about how different aspects of each property would impact not only the building process, but the various restrictions we would face if we chose that property. This helped us immensely and we felt like Ed was on our team from the start ensuring that we chose a property that got us what we wanted at a fair price. Once we started the building process, we learned that building in Durango is not like building in a big city. Subcontractors tend to be smaller outfits. This makes progress a bit slower (as does the Colorado winter), but it also leads to very personal relationships between Asher and its subs. We felt that the subs really trusted Asher and wanted to do a great job for them and for us. This resulted in great craftsmanship. We feel like Ed and his team were always open to answering our many questions and working through any concerns we had along the way. Any bumps in the road were dealt with head on and honestly. The open lines of communication fostered a great collaboration, ensuring that our concerns were addressed promptly and effectively. We loved that Asher is a true design build firm. Russ, Tracy and Bailey are an incredible in-house team. No request was too big or too small. This aspect of Asher really made a difference in ensuring that our vision was realized. As the build progressed and decisions needed to be made, they were called to our attention promptly and efficiently so that we knew what we needed to decide and when. In this way, the project moved along extremely smoothly. At the end of the project, it was obvious that the team was committed to dotting every I and crossing every T. The team made a punch list and we made one and every item was taken care of for us. Anything that has come up since we have moved in has been addressed promptly. We interviewed 5 different builders in our area and Casey far and above out-shined the others. Casey is a hands on builder working right along with his subs making sure everything is done to his high standards.
