“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mary Jo Cooper, her husband Rodney and the staff at Chosen Interiors on two projects. Mary Jo and I first met years ago at the most unexpected place: Bed, Bath & Beyond. I knew I was off to a great start while standing in the rows of toothbrush holders and soap dispensers! Mary Jo was an integral part when I remodeled the kitchen, a bathroom, enclosed a sun porch and created a patio space during Covid. We weathered masks, limited supplies, she closely coordinated with the crew doing the work, setting up appointments with different vendors and traipsing through more yards of stone and countertop materials than I can count or knew existed in the Atl metro area. I have been extremely pleased with the end result in each room. When it came time to remodel a lake cottage I purchased last year, I didn’t think twice about picking up the phone and reaching out to Mary Jo. Even though the cottage was 5 states away, she took the challenge. Mary Jo played a pivotal part in re-designing the limited existing space, helping me select tile and paint colors which set the stage for the vibe I wanted the cottage to reflect. My second project was unconventional at best, but Mary Jo’s input will be seen in all rooms of the cottage. If you feel the process is better left to a knowledgeable designer with impeccable taste and more available time than I had, then your next call should be to Chosen Interiors. “We worked with Hagan Architects to plan the renovation of our 1920s-era bungalow, adding a second story and re-designing the first floor to make better use of the existing space. We interviewed several firms, and I can echo the comments of other reviewers that Tim Hagan and Amy Higgins understood what we wanted better than anyone else we talked to. We needed an architect that (a) could create a design that would double the square footage of our home while staying true to the look and feel of the other homes in our neighborhood, and (b) had the technical expertise to plan every detail from the bottom up. Throughout the process, Hagan Architects provided invaluable guidance that enabled us to make well-informed and confident choices. We were on a very tight budget, which they took into consideration in every element of the design, proposing solutions that were both elegant and cost effective.
