“Orion of Virginia (owners: Ryan & Kelly Rodgers) did a "whole house" renovation of my 2200 square foot, 60-year-old home in Falls Church, VA. It all started with me asking for an estimate for new windows (badly needed)...they came in with recommendations that were more extensive and substantially less expensive than "the big guys" (Andersen, Thompson Creek)...in the process of evaluating the windows, we identified a lot of other repair/refurbish issues that Orion could handle for me and thus the project was born. Ryan & Kelly walked me through every step of what needed to be done, what could be done, and what to expect time and cost wise. They provided design services, too, I wound up contracting for all new windows (22 of them); two new doors; a newly repaired leaking deck attached to the upper level front of my garage; new flooring in all three floors of my home (all hardwood); a new kitchen (including moving a gas line to allow me to have a gas stove, removal of 3 walls (2 of them closet walls), all new appliances, an island, granite countertops and new cabinets); three refurbished bathrooms; new recessed lighting all through the first floor; some built-in storage; fixing of a zillion little things that were broken (e.g., a ceiling fan); and fresh paint throughout the house. The job took 3 months and Orion was quickly and effectively responsive every time an issue arose. They did quality work, within budget. They were off just a bit on their estimated time line--their initial estimate of 6 weeks they quickly revised to 8-10 weeks,, and then a month into it (it was winter so weather played a role) they revised it again to 10-12 weeks. It actually took 13 weeks to get to "punch list" stage. The punch list was amazingly short, but it did take some time to get thru each of those (pretty small) issues--one still remains to be done, but it's an asphalt/driveway issue and we're in total agreement to wait until the driveway/asphalt people are in the neighborhood anyway to do a pretty small repair on the driveway--much more cost effective that way. In short, I highly recommend Orion of Virginia. They did quality work, more quickly than one might otherwise expect, and within budget. (There were a couple of unexpected costs/projects, but they cleared the doing of them w/me before they took them on.) Ryan & Kelly are a joy to work with. I will hire them again for the two projects I didn't have done (redone laundry room and one guest room) when I "recover" from the inherent difficulties of a "whole house renovation."
