you can a glaze to the cabinets and some under cabinet moldings in a dark chocolate. there is a small crown molding you can add to your cabinets- again in that dark stain, since you have standard overlay cabinets. I think the merillat pecan color would look very nice.

oh forget .. we don't have any handles/hardware on the cabinets yet either..

I like the idea of the crown molding top and bottom, as you noted and can see we have very little space at the top of the cabinets. Do they have molding small enough to fit, but still make an impact.

yes, it is soffit crown, it is very small. I think your cabinets are merillat, looks like spring valley arch to me. merillat sells the soffit crown, if I remember correctly it is about an inch in height.

First- I want to correct my earlier statement- that is definitely not the spring valley door style. Second, I like the dark color but i feel like it might be too heavy in the entire kitchen because of the dark back splash and appliances. Cabinet finishes tend to be on the lower sheen side, a low luster. Every cabinet company will be slightly different. Have you looked into gel stains? This would give you a nice dark accent on the cabinets with out making the whole cabinet dark. Also, have you thought of going with a white or cream cabinet?

thanks.. We were concerned about the dark appliances and the dark cabinets also. We could test a few more colors before we decide..
