Master bedroom help.

This is our master bedroom, very dull and boring. Looking for ideas to make it clam, romantic and sexy. I'm looking for suggestions for bedding, window coverings, lamps and a dresser for the husband ( not sure where to place one though). I love the look of the heavenly bedding-clean and crisp. I want to walk in and say wow, I could stay in here all day!

This is a rental home and we are not allowed to paint or remove carpet. The mirrors are sitting on top of the nightstands at the moment, I would hang them 6 inches lower but want to make the tops even with whatever window coverings I get for the sliding doors.

Thank you!

Thank you @Paige O'Coin. I love the images of the bedding! I plan to visit some shops this weekend to purchase a white set. This at least gives me some direction.

I guess I should be looking for lamps with a bigger base? Not tall and skinny?

Tall and skinny would be okay too! And all that bedding is from Ethan Allen :)

Anyone with ideas for a dresser or highboy for the room? I am at a loss on what to look for. The bed and night stands are dark and already kinda heavy looking, not sure if adding a dresser will make the room to weighted. Do I pick another dark piece? Possibly remove one nightstand and replace it with something like spindle table then place dresser?

I have considered either placing a dresser where the high back chair is, or on the other side of the bed in the space left of the sliding door. There isn't any other wall space in the room. The wall across from bed is all closet. Thoughts?

    Thanks again!

Thoughts on switching headboard to the upholstered side?

I've had this bed for 5 years and forgot that it could be switched.

Not sure how I feel about it, definitely different than what I'm used to

    Forgot to attach photo, sorry.

The mirrors are throwing me off, I think they are just too large for table top. How about lowering them down behind the night stands? Then remove the one beside the slider. Remove the verticals and use curtains for softness.

Thank you for commenting Annie Santulli Designs!

How tall of lamps? Where should the top of the lamp shade be when compared to the top of the headboard?

Is this the type of lamp you are thinking?

    Thank you!

Always tough with a rental but I am all about white bedding with an accent color, with accent pillows or prints on the wall. Try apple green or seafoam blue to complement the dark wood. I would lose the mirrors, and use clear glass or Murano glass tall lamps.

everything everyone has mentioned sounds great; but if you are renting, make sure everything transfers to your next abode. some of the above mentioned beauties have a pretty steep price tag attached. could you wallpaper the one wall where the bed is? there are some awesome soft metallic peel off papers that would make the whole room look papered, since the other wall is all mirrors. just a thought

Those are the exact style pillows I was thinking of :-)....and I like the rock crystal lamps you can definitely go higher than the headboard!

You do not have to paint your room lavender to enjoy this beautiful color! You do not have to spend a fortune in bedding to accomplish this look either.

    Hello

I think with your white bedding I would remove the brown pillows and add some very light pillows in light green or a light blue. I would also go with a lined off white drapery and hung about 3" from ceiling and touching floor and going about 6" wider. Make sure you do at least 2.5 the width of your window for a luxury looking fullness.

I would replace the lamps with larger base lamps and add a bit of matching greenery or white flowers on each nightstand.

    Best of luck !

Okay I apologize for the lighting, but just picked up these two lamps! Thoughts? Am I headed in the right direction? Left, right or neither and keep looking?

Also, I have the upholstered part of the headboard forward, I don't think I like it very much.

Lyndaleebg-thanks for the comments. I looked for a seafoam blue throw and pillow this evening, but I did not find a shade I really liked. I took the mirrors down last week to see what we thought and it felt bare! I am hoping once I get the bedding, curtains and lamps I will lower the mirrors and see if they will work.

@Let Ritvalsky Thank you, I love the idea of a removable wall paper! A peal and stick? I will have to look into that!

@Bev I am definitely looking to add some color through fabric and accessories, thank you for the suggestion. I am not really feeling the lavender-but it is pretty! What do you think about a gray blue , or something along that line?

@KHB interiors- thank you for the suggestion on drapery! I will make sure to get something wide enough for fullness.

I was looking this evening for curtain rails? Like in a nice hotel. Shears and blackout drapes that can be pulled across. Has anyone had any experience with these?

Looking forward to hearing opinions on the lamps! I will post some pics tomorrow during the day.

    Thanks!

I'm not liking all the mirrors. I would remove the mirrors from the nightstands.

Okay some pics of lamps during the day. Left, right or keep looking?

    Thank you!

No one has picked one over the other, and I'm going to go run errands so I think I am going to return the lamp on the right-mother of pearl looking one. Still not sure about the one on the left, but of the two I think it looks better. Will look for bedding today and possibly a dresser.
